sorry if this is a noob question but does a normal usb-otg cord work in twrp? I can't get it to work. Or do I need a otg y cable so it is powered? never used one so I came to ask here. I would like to copy all my titanium backup data and nandroids to my flash drive to save memory on my phone

I just tried both 2.6.3.4 and 2.6.3.3 and both work fine:
Rebooted into TWRP, connected OTG cabe + 64GB USB (FAT32 formatted, though I remember exFAT also working for me), in recovery:
Mount -> select USB-OTG
Advanced -> File Manager -> /usb-otg
==> all files were there.

@ZeRo2o9
you can also plug in the usb-otg and reboot to recovery
choose backup or install and where it says Storage click it one time and then choose USB OTG and hit back and it will be mounted when you choose install or backup again.
Thanks for all the replies. Turns out I didn't know I had the usb formatted to ntfs when I used it before lol formatted it to fat32 and it worked. thanks!

Have you tried to plug the cable to a different USB port? Sometimes it resolves the issue as it needs to install new drivers on that port.
No Mount USB

Yea, So working on something very close.
I formated my phone, and then wiped all the data on it after. My problem is I wiped the ROM that I was using at the time (otherwise I would boot back up and replace my deleted ROM using Android file transfer). I've also deleted the new ROM (and everything else) on the internal SD card that I was going to switch to. How can I force a ROM back onto my SD card? I can't boot back into the phone save for Recovery, and dowload screens so I can't enable the phone to "act as a usb device"
I have CWR 6.0.1, and can only boot into that program, and the Samsung Download screen.
I tried to go to mounts but only see system, cache and data. I can mount and unmount those (but they don't change anything. I also have a /sdcard option to mount, but i can't do anything with it, it doesn't switch back and forth between mount and unmount like the others do. I don't see a Mount USB option like you were talking about above.
I am using a VZW GNex (toro)
Macbook running snow lepord.
Go to samfirmware and dowload the 2.3.6 rom for the i9000 anf flash it with odin next install cwm recovery and its done

Hi azar
Did you tried to transfer using ADB . in your case if you have a custom recovery installed its possible
google this "transfer file using adb from recovery mode"
Hope this helps..
found the solution with recovery mode :
in windows hardware manager : delete adb I9100
in recovery mode press "unmount" : this will reload the phone driver and give full access to internal memory and sdcard on windows explorer
in your windows manager you should now see a warning device called GT-I9100
this worked after I reinstalled drivers (not from kies)
This problems happens because windows detects a new device and downloads this "adb driver" ONLY in recovery mode. So this is not the samsung driver.
I am using clockworkmod recovery but I cannot mount storage. Am I missing something? Drivers in place. Fastboot abd both work. But I cannot mount the storage. I am not new to this just new to the phone.

When you hit the mount button should the storage show up as a drive? It worked on my old phone with external storage. What am I doing wrong?

Thank you for the reply. I had a friend bring over his phone that was only booting to bootloader and had no ROM's in storage. I managed to get it back by fastboot flashing a boot.img from the viper ROM that was installed on his phone before. Normally I would have just copied a good ROM to the storage through recovery and flashed it. Afterwords I made a backup and warned him not to delete it.
Thanks again everyone for all the support this site provides!

If you need to send a rom or anything to your internal storage from recovery just do : adb push rom.zip /data/media/0/

Easiest way is to get a 4 $ OTG cable from Amazon and a SanDisk 16 GB USB stick. Then choose in recovery 'install zip from external SD card'
I also keep a Nandroid on there. In recovery there is the option 'back up to external SD card'
Really gives a peace of mind!

sometimes i have to check usb-otg a couple of times before it mounts you also might want to downgrade twrp to 2.6.3.0 and see if that works i had trouble with newer versions of twrp
This is the first time I've done this so I have NO idea how to fix it . I was just flashing a new rom
when I accidently checked off system in WIPE. Everything is gone obviously. Can someone please tell me what to do from here? I have no access to a computer till later today. Any help is appreciated thank you!
Update: internal storage is also deleted. The phone has nothing. No OS what so ever.
What do i do?
Thanks for any help
You deleted system or internal storage? If just system then reflash the rom. The zip should still be on your phone
your sdcard contents are still there, since sdcard "lives" in /data/media NOT in /system
proceed to flash whatever ROM+gapps you were going to install, wiping system is actually one of the steps many people do when doing a clean install
if internal storage is deleted you have 2 options
1. copy ROM and gaps on a USB flash drive , use a OTG cable to connect them, reboot into recovery , mount USB-OTG, you can install whatever zips you have on the flash drive
2. push the files to the sdcard from your computer using ADB push

TWRP Supports MTP connections. Plug the phone in via USB then go into "Mounts" and "enable MTP". Then just drag and drop the files into internal storage
the babadook! ?
Good evening.
I am trying to root my ONEplus Nord CD 5G (bought in April 22) and have done the following:
1) Bootloader unlocked
2) Vbmeta flashed
3) twrp-3.5.2_11-ebba flashed
4) rebooted in recovery
TWRP has started but I cannot Magisk to the device because it is not being recognized via USB on my PC.
Internal storage is 0MB, as well as USB OTG.
I have to select mount and then mount USB storage to make it visible to the PC but no files can be transferred.
In detail it prints “unable to mount storage” and “failed to mount”.
There seem to be data in BOOT, DTBO, EFS, MODEM, PERSIST, RECOVERY and SUPER where SUPER is by far the largest with 10GB.
Has TWRP been found working with the phone and purchase date above (should be Android 11)?
There is a wipe button with advanced functions but I am afraid of using it because until now I have not erased anything from the phone. Furthermore, I do not quite understand what the functions are.
Can anyone recommend further steps?
Thank you very much for your help.
Best regards,
Audoghast
would first try changing slot to A or B in reboot section of TWRP, depending on your current slot
Hello again.
Thank you for the quick reply. I tried that but no change.
I am still stuck with "unable to mount storage" message.
Unfortunately, I cannot save any data to my PC but somehow I will have to wipe data. What would be a cautioius approach?
Thanks again.

Did you check the device manager, if your phone is recognized while in fastboot/bootloader?
In fastboot mode (START)or (RESTART BOOTLOADER) the phone is not recognized. by the device manager. There is no bootloader number either.
However, the phone accepts fastboot commands from the laptop via USB cable.
Thanks for any further tips.
