Hi, Yesterday I wanted to install 4.3 on the SGS. I updated to 2.3.6 via KIES and installed CWM recovery and flashed Mackay's 4.3 ROM. I know I made mistake by not upgrading to ICS before JellyBean and not backing up efs but is there any too that would help me? At the moment im downloading 512 PIT i9000 JVU ROM with i9000 JVU CF ROOT Kernel since I heard flashing that would help. Thanks.
PS. Will this tool help this process?

Recently Flashed with Gingerbread 2.3.3 stock Rom fully.
Do I need rooting again?
Why I said re-rooting is that I had rooted my previous original Froyo 2.2.1 Rom with success..
If it 2.3.2. stock Rom needs rooting, which is the best way and soft for it ?
Yes, if you upgraded from 2.2.1 then 2.3.3 will need to be rooted again. There are several kernels that you can flash via ODIN that will root 2.3.3. Check in the ROM Kitchen beta or in this thread for kernels by Chainfire, SuperCurio and DamienGTO.
Remember that 2.3.3 is still a work in progress so read, READ, READ before you do anything.
Ths.
I found out this is the solution.

Hi all, I am confused..
I have GB LC1 rooted
GT-N7000
Android 2.3.6
Basisbandversion N7000XXLB2
Kernel-Version 2.6.35.7-N7000XXKJ1-CL627135
Build GINGERBREAD SXXLC1
CWM installed, mobile odin possible
I want to update to open German ICS 4.03 - rooted maybe after. Without wiping possible?, Mobile Odin safer than PC Odin?
Where is the right instruction?
I learned that I brick my phone when wiping via CWM. So how is the safe way? I can't find in the excellent instructions by Dr. Keatan
I heard that CM9 4.0.4 is safe but without FM radio..
Hi Guys
Sorry if this question has been answered before, but i did try and look for an answer but had no luck. Unfortunely I do have abit of a strange situation.
I updated to an offical Australian vodafone (my provider) ICS rom (GT-N7000B version) through mobile odin a while back from a XSA (AUS) GT-N7000 GB rom. Since i used mobile odin i was able to pass root through to the new rom which was great.
Since the release of JB has come out I am wondering since I know about the brickbug etc, how will I update my phone to JB since i am on a stock ICS kernel? As it was to my understanding I cannot flash anything on a stock ICS kernel due to the flash bug?
Can i actually use pc odin on a stock ICS kernel and flash over the top to JB or will I have to re-flash GB or ICS GT-N7000 model rom and then use a safe kernel to flash to get clockwork mod and then go over that to get to JB?
Any advice?
If you want just stock, i.e. no root or anything, just go back to gb and flash official JB through PC Odin.
Alternatively, you could also straightaway flash official JB through PC Odin.(Not recommended)
Hi everyone. Yesterday i got I9000 that had wrong imei. I flashed stock Froyo and rooted it with Super one click, everything fine.
Now i flashed Gingerbread but Doomlord and SuperOne fail every time i try to root it. And yes I have debugging on.
For some reason most of the CF-roots cant be downloaded so does anyone know how to solve this?
Mine is running on 2.3.6 and baseband is I9000XXJVU.

Depends upon what do you want to do next after installing 2.3.5.
Everybody Starts from scratch so don't hesitate in asking.
Read this: (this is what I did)
1. Install 2.3.5 using Kies update.
2. Install corn kernel using kk4 easy root http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20710788&postcount=6 Don't forget to thank him.
3. Now first recommended installation is always Stable CM Rom can be CM 10.0 along with gapps, (But then you can not come back to GB normally you will have to flash it using Odin. and then the whole cycle again.)
4. After installing CM, install any JB ROM you like.
