[Q] New Modem - Galaxy S III I9305 (4G LTE + 2GB RAM) Q&A, Help &

So did 4.3 came with a new modem?
Does any one notices any improvement?
I can't seem to find it as a stand alone.
cheers

Take a look at thread in our development section. We have there one thread for flashable modems, I also posted there the last 4.3 modem, should be on last page

Newbie question: What is the difference between different modems? Thought you only needed to bother with them when they don't work. Probably because I don't know what the differences are...

Froyo radio/modem with Gingerbread rom?

Hey all.
I have found that my WiFi reception and 3G reception have dropped considerably since installing gingerbread (Darkys 10.1) on my phone.
Is it possible to use the Froyo radio I was using before on the Gingerbread ROM?
and/or: does anyone have links to some other gingerbread radios that I might try. (currently JVO)
thanks.
Found my answer and a nice collection of i9000 modems here:

JFTR: I'm using Ginger Radio with Froyo ROM and battery life is excellent.
This kind of thread belongs in I9000 General forum, and NOT in Development.
I'm not trolling, fellas, I'm just informing.
Please, in future, if you are not discussing code, ROM, or kernels, or your thread is a question, then take it to the General forum.

[Q] is this the latest possible kernel....

Hi people,
Coming from a rooted HTC sensation, I'm finding the labelling of the kennels confusing!! I've seen N7000xxkka and lots of other variations.
I did get an update recently, so I'm presuming mine is the latest. If it is, what xxkk9 or whatever I see people write about??
Sorry for such a noob question, but when I've gone through the forum it's like everyone has something different to me!
Enclosed is an image of my about phone and version?

Question about Rooting in the US

Hello there! I apologize for being a twit, but I just received my shiny white Note today and am super excited; coming from an Atrix this is a huge upgrade! I did have a question about rooting though. My phone has the N7000XXKKA (2.6.35) kernal, and I've seen the specific rooting tools in the Development section, but I noticed some of the files have the same name but different countries attached to them. Do I need to know where my phone was made? Or can I use any of the files that match the kernel version I currently have? Thanks!

The original firmware on my phone was for Brazil (UBKK1) and I put on checkRom (which uses XXLA4.) Everything works fine.

For Rooting, you need not to care about your region, You have kernel KKA, then you go to this tread, find 'I have kernel KKA'(lower part of OP) download required file, extract n run I am unrooted script.
Thanks! Your thread was incredibly helpful and did the trick. I have a question that's not really related, but you might know: If I install one of the custom roms, will it break the pressure sensitivity of the S-Pen? I do a lot of sketching with it so I don't want it to stop functioning.

Here you go. You need to use fastboot to flash this radio.
I got it. Thank you!
Sorry for stupid 'noob' question but I have flashed about 4 or so different ROMs so far and know what to do on that end, should I just stick to the custom ROMs or can I play with kernels and what to look for also with this radio '20.2811.30.085AU_3805.09.03.27_M' is this the radio that I should have put in awhile ago to keep my InS up to date?
Sorry

Radios are always a mystery. Once in a while people find new radio version from new RUU/OTA but you can never find any official words on them. So all you can do is flash them and see if there's any difference. But worse still, some difference/enhancement might be carrier specific.
Personally, I found 3822.11.08.29 and later versions are best for my case.
