Guys I need help. Not sure if I should've created a new thread. My phone is not waking up. I've tried pressing the power button + volume up as well as hard reset but still the same. I'm not doing anything on the phone as in it's just lying on the bed. I was still using it before this happened. Just regular use. Tried charging it but notification area isn't lighting up. I hope someone can assist me on this as I'm getting worried...

@Alex Tan Hao Nam: downgrade to .534, root via b1n4ry method then ota upgrade to .257

No I didn't. Before I lay it down to the bed I was using its camera and the phone was all fine, as in all fine then I put it to sleep. I laid it down on the bed to take a photo of it using my brother's phone and then when I was about to use it, it's not waking up upon pressing the power button.

Really strange. I've left my phone at home since I cannot use it for 3hrs and when I cam back it's still not usable and the weird thing is it's warm/hot. Do you think this can be resolved by a service repair? I wanted this for a replacement instead to be honest. I have two issues now on this phone. 1st is the yellow hue then second is this one. Do you think I have enough reasons for a replacement? This is purchased from an OL shop by the way it's almost 2mos old which is way beyond the 3-day manufacturer's warranty of the OL store.
well hope its not a motherboard problem. you can always try to bring it to sony service center.
if you have no warranty coverage then you will have to pay.
Connect it to the charger, wait for a couple of minutes, Hold VOL up and power button for about 3 minutes (or until it vibrates) and then leave it in wall charger for 1 hour. Don't try to turn it on!
Now connect it to PC, hold VOL up and power button, when it vibrates release everything and hold the volume down button (might need to repeat and try to get it in flashmode), if you succeeded in getting it in flash mode, try to flash a ftf from here using Flashtool.

Well I really do hope so. Up until now it is still not usable. I will just try to demand for a replacement even if it's beyond the 3-day replacement period as this is definitely something I'm not happy about.

Hi
I've problem with my nexus one. Everything was OK until one day my phone won't start. First I think that it's problem with power button because charging seems OK(orange led and after charge was green) so I buy board with new power button. After exchange bord it was same. Phone still wont turn on. I bring my phone to local shop and try brand new battery but nothing. Also I try factory reset and some other tricks for "power button problem" but nothing.:crying:
I'am sure that new board was replaced correctly.
Thank you for any solutions...

Hi,
i got my Xperia Z yesterday and already have a problem. Yesterday in the evening i listened to some audible content. I didn´t turn off the app, because it goes in sleep mode after finishing the downloaded part. I had stamina mode active. Today my phone doesn´t react. It is off the screen is dark. I can push the powerbutton how i want, the phone doesn´t react. I tried to recharge it, because i thought the battery was completly empty, but i don´t even have the led active which is normally active when you plug in your phone.
Does anybody have had the same issues? And can give me a hint what to do? Otherwise i will have to change the device tomorrow. It´s my first sony, so perhaps there is a trick with it i don´t know.
Take it back.

Can some1 check temps?
Might be a safe mode of sorts due to overheating?
Sounds like this is a common issue on the forums.
i don´t think its because of overheating. Today it was two times in sleepmode for a bit longer, and after both i had to restart it with the method mentioned above. I think it is a software failure. Maybe something with the staminamode. I will switch the staminamode off and wait if it happens again.

I imagine a small firmware update will fix this. Be sure to report it to Sony every single time it happens.
Yes, i will do that. Bsides this bug, i´m very satisfied with the experia z, even with the battery life.

You don't have choice if the phone freezes
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2
Ever since they introduced non-removable batteries with XS ( and I still have a bone to pick with Sony regarding that choice ), they introduced a hardwired phone reset/shut down combination that is accessed via volume up+power button, that apparently by the sound of this thread, still functions the same as it did with S.
I've had my Xperia S freeze in middle of something ( can't remember what ) after it went to standby mode, and the only way to fix it is either to wait for your battery to die, or to manually reset the phone via volume up+power button combo.
It's safe to perform as much as you'd like, it just resets the phone or shuts it down, depending on how long you keep it pressed. It saved my Xperia S from water damage on one occassion, although I guess I won't have that problem with Z.
The same thing happens with my nexus 4.. Its somewhat related to hardware I guess. Cos xperia z and nexus 4 are very simpilar in case of hardware. around 10% people are facing such problems on nexus 4. Its a hardware problem I guess..

hi i was charging my xperia c5303 sp this morning, it got to 100% and i unplugged the charger as i did this the screen froze and it went black and my phone is now un responsive will not turn on nothing. if i replug the carger or usb to pc i get a green light across the bottom of phone,
could this be a boot loop, soft brick? and how do i fix? pc will not find the phone it will charge it though
i have not tried to modify this phone at all
anyone?
got no warranty either, not making things easier for me
Flash stock FTF using flashtool , uncheck wipe data while flashing if you do not want to loose your apps and other things.

Have you tried the reset button, besides the SIM&SDCard slots?
Clicking it will shake the mobile once and reset, doing a 5 seconds long press it will maybe perhaps shake it thrice and have a nice ultra mega plus blaster reset. :cyclops:

khamees_xi, is your phone under warranty still?
Sounds like a dead battery, had a similair thing with my Xperia S, it was covered under warranty
And keep in mind if it's not covered under warranty it still won't be a expensive repair if it's battery related compared to a display replacement(nightmare).

its not your last hope,
you still have the DIY option:
open the back plate (see the Xperia Z Screen Replacement video in youtube on how to, just need the initial 3 steps),
try to disconnect the battery flex cable, then plug the usb cable to pc, if it enters fastboot, then battery is not flat, ITS DEAD.
order a replacement battery and order the Xperia Z Waterproof adhessive.
FIRST TRY TO GET WARRANTY xD its way better!!
I had this problem already, about 1 weeks ago. Same condition that you are describe before.
I just use my PC companion and then the problem fixed :victory:

hahaha I told ya I tried every possible solutions but all of them failed
@wwaleed.. it happened for me a time ago in Xperia S ,and it's fixed by a silly answer found in forumforpages.com
first.. remove your SIM Card and then plug in the charger and once the red light appears ,disconnect it and do the same for 5-6 times continuously ,and the 7th plug it in and leave it for 5-10 minutes.. if the LED color changed to green/blue (whatever) ,try holding the power button to boot the phone.
i know it feels silly.. but it worked for me after update failure ,just give it a try before sending it to warranty
