Hey guys. I have a simple question. I want to flash kernel without fastboot. When I was using Samsung Galaxy W, I can flash kernel through terminal using dd command. But I don't know what is boot partition on Sony Xperia Z1.
Can you help me to fix this problem? Anyway is it safe to flash kernel with dd command?
Thanks before
Samsung is different, there is no such thing here in Sony.

Really? Well, it's a little bit strange. As far as I know every Android device has boot partition. After a little bit research, I've found out that boot partition located on /dev/block/mmcblk0p14

Dude. I just want to know where's exactly boot partition. So I can flash kernel.img using dd command from terminal (which mean I don't need flashtool neither fastboot to flash kernel)
You need fastboot to flash to boot in xperia devices

So, even we know where's exactly boot partition is located, we can't flash kernel through dd command from terminal?
You can flash Doomkernel through Recovery.
Than you will no problem though flash Terminal Emulator.
Looking into the Doomkernel.zip and search the install script search the kernel-portion and give this with some commands in Terminal Emulator.

I was searching the boot flash place.
And found but don't know so much about it.
You can't just flash the kernel through Terminal Emulator you must set permission.

You need to install a CF-root kernel on your phone to get ext4 to work properly..
without a CF-root kernel it will not work..

Try LibiSC's battery extender.Download the zip, boot in recovery and flash it
Hi, help needed. I rooted my phone recently. To free up some more space i deleted the folder <system/apps> thinking of it as backup apks of system apps.
Now the phone goes blank in seconds after starting. Please help.
PS: didnt install xrecovery after rooting.
What have you done???!!!! There's no app in your phone now!!!
Try installing a recovery with the X8 toolbox (search in the dev section) and flash a ROM.
Repair your phone with PCC, SEUS or Flashtool
Immediately use flashtool and flash stock firmware
Sent from my E15i using Tapatalk 2
i have the backup of that apps folder in my PC, if only, somehow i could copy it back.
if you could please provide links on doing recovery without xrecovery being installed,
or the usage of other tools aforementioned, that would help a lot.
go to this link and download 2nd one and install it,
http://www.mediafire.com/?yas7dola6dgd8
download the stock firmware here
http://www.mediafire.com/?61tbas3592yv1ru
if that zip is password protected, then use this password
androidstockromlibrary.blogspot.com
extract zip and put the *.ftf file into here, (only if you didn't changed the install location of flashtool)
C:\Flashtool\firmwares
then open flashtool and select flashmode and select x8 then press ok,
in few seconds a display will appear, take off battery in your phone and connect it to computer using usb,
now hold back button and insert battery, then green light will appear and stock firmware will flash
Guyz what the hell are u saying?
There is no need to flashtool or anything else....
Just do a full wipe & flash your ROM again
Is it important how did i send this?
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha, now when that is done,go to your computer and delete system32.
Sarcasam off.
Just recover your backup in recovery without doing fullwipe.

thanks, but the last of the replies got late. I already went with flashing, and this seems to be going fine.

Flash the stock rom via Flashtool.

I also face the same problem when i use Xperia X8. Here is the solution for to recover it.
Please search for Xperia x8/ Update Service setup in google and install the software in your PC then do the below steps.
1) switch off your phone
2) Press the back button continuously and connect the USB cable from your system to phone.
3) Then run the updated service. It will take nearly 30 minutes to complete the software updated process.

yup created a python script that resized everything, there's a little problem with header text they get onto some other texts, but nothing else.

Hi,
Sorry for my huge delay I was at travel,
unfortunately CWM trigger at the top level than TWRP, but as there's nothing impossible the easiest way is that you rename the cwm and twrp (in fact swap those ) and twrp will call on press up and on reboot to recovery instead of cwm

You should EXTRACT all of it then execute install.bat,
you may not execute install.bat directly from zip explorer, winrar, 7zip or any other decompress programs or just extract install.bat and execute it.
