[Q] Unlock Nokia LTE Band 4 - Windows Phone 8 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey all,
The US variant of the Nokia 1520 has LTE band 4 locked. I was wondering if there is any way to unlock it. The global variant does not have band 4 sadly. If anyone can shed some light on this it would help me greatly :3
Thanks all

Hi there are a few different global version the RM 938 has the all the bands for US carriers and most international places. It's a rare one to find though. New egg has it. Do a search for 1520.3. Not sure how long they will last as the yellow has already sold out. They have just the black and the white versions left.

If there is a product variant that supports it, you can flash it via the Nokia Care Suite (Previous post indicates that there is)....good luck!

Yeah actually I was also looking for unlocking of LTE bands. But someone said that it's not possible.
There is a thread for unlocking bands on OP3 hope that someone will make it available to OP3T
but that's mean that it is possible to make it
Any news on this topic guys?

It's not possible. I know that for the OnePlus One... there was a way to do it... but after OnePlus One, there is no way.

Best model for UK?

I'm considering getting a ROG 2 and would appreciate any input as to the best variant to use here in the UK.
Advice from UK users that have the ROG 2 in particular.
I'm currently on Three network, using a Huawei P30 Pro. The lack of b/l unlock and rooting is quite frustrating so I'm looking at the ROG 2.
Cheers

Well if ur on 3 network, I'm pretty sure they use band 20 for lte. So don't go for a Tencent version, they don't have b20. You might have to bite the bullet and buy UK version. Tho, I'm still not sure if this has b20, you'll need to check

I have the 512gb global version bought from ASUS UK and can confirm that it has band 20 LTE. The only issue you will have is that to access the band 20 on 3 you have to have a voLTE enabled device which the ROG 2 isn't unfortunately

No I haven't tried that as I believe it requires rooting the phone and I've never done that before. I would like to get voLTE working though so might give it a try soon.
Thanks to the posters above.
Tbh I thought there would have been more advice from UK users, this forum is much more active than the one for my Huawei P30 Pro.
Maybe there will be a little more input now I've bumped this thread.
Cheers

Hi everyone,
I have bought US one sim version of Xperia 1 mark 2. There is no 5G in options, despite support by my carrier. Is it possible to unlock?

Carrier aggregation

Hi everybody, i bought an s10 snapdragon and im using it in europe, i ve problems with carrier aggregation. I d already known that the snap version doesnt match band20 with the others. The problem is that it doenst aggregate any lte band. Is there a way to modify the carrier aggregation without root? I ve read some guide on this forum but im not sure they work with s10. Thanks
So what version of S10 you have bought? US version do not support example combinations used in Europe.

Carrier Aggregation combinations are compiled to modem firmware so you can't edit these. To update these need source code of modem firmware and then need sign key to sign firmware otherwise your phone modem will brick. On cacombos.com have listed hardware defined combinations.
