Flash a 10.2 kernel first to get lower version of CWM recovery, so that the CWM will be compatible for flashing the CM 10.2, since you current CWM is meant for CM 11, it will give you status 7 error when trying to flash a a lower version of ROM.

you can use CM 10 kernels from any source, like here , as long as its CM 10, it should work , just use semaphore 3.1 or 2.9

[Resolved][Q] N7000 Asylum_CM10.1 20130416 Status 7 installation aborted

Hi there,
I ran into a problem with two latest Asylum Roms (Asylum_CM10.1 20130416 Mako and n7000), after flashing I got Status 7 and installation is aborted on both; i got assert failed getprop("ro.product.device"). I was following instructions from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2098655&highlight=flash while on cm matrix kernel http://www.mediafire.com/?q6b645akxi99l27.
Yes I did various md5sum checks.
Can someone help me out to get Asylum Rom working?

Ok my bad.
Too all newbies like me ( I only flashed just a few kernels and this is my 3rd rom i am flashing) :
Flashing with the latest CM 10.1 kernel and rebooting once (it will stuck on the Galaxy logo since no working rom is present), I rebooted to recovery again and so I managed to install the Asylum rom without a problem.

[Q] N7000 CWM Recovery Upgrade to Latest Version

Hi, i have installed SlimBean ROM on my Note and CWM Recovery 6.0.3.2.
I read on forums that for latest CyanogenMod 10.2 i need newer CWM Recovery(ccurrent version 6.0.3.8).
I search how to upgrade to latest CWM Recovery and i found this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2201860
And here is link for download latest version for N7000:
http://d-h.st/users/philz_touch/?fld_id=25295#files
But i'm confused now, is on that link only CWM Recovery or is that Kernel with CWM?
Can i flash that file through current CWM Recovery (zip file) and get latest CWM Recovery Version?
Or can you tell me how to get latest CWMR Version.
I don't want use Custom ROM's based on Samsung firmware, i prefer CM based Custom ROM's (SlimBean and Bam Andorid),
so that's reason why i'm confused most about upgrading CWMR.
Thanks
You will have to use a kernel which has updated recovery.
please send me xda clockworkmod recovery for galaxy gt-n7000 for omni and tell me how to install

Hi,
I installed cwm PhilZ-cwm6-XXLTA-ATL-5.15.0-signed recovery from your post which works fine the touch etc. but after when in try to install 4.4.2 in recovery mode, it says (SET_METADATA_RECURSIVE: SOME CHANGES FAILED E: ERROR IN /EMMC/N7000-STABLEv1.zip (STSTUS 7)) and cannot install. the same message for Google app too. is there any thing else i have to do. I have n7000 and i am not very good in gadgets but you know i want to try kitkat.
My phone is not rooted. so in just installed PhilZ-cwm6-XXLTA-ATL-5.15.0-signed. and I have downloaded N7000-STABLEv1 but always get the same message above. I thought just by installing PhilZ-cwm6-XXLTA-ATL-5.15.0-signed i can install any custom rom.

Try to see if the zip file isn't corrupted first
Edit. Also remember that this is not the right place to ask those questions. You are on the Android development thread

Flash CM11, and then this. Or if you know, flash just kernel with UKF.
And one thing, you have I9070 or I9070P? If you have I9070P then you need to change tee folder too, and remove some lines from updater script.
First thing that pop up when you search "status 7 error" http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2302599
And understand rest, that is a ROM, not a firmware. You must be on JellyBean too, can't do it from GB.
Threads of that ROM are here, read:

The one from zip of ROM. Remember, after that you will not be able to boot in stock, you must flash CM.
But first, do you have I9070 or I9070P? If you are I9070P you will not be able to flash CM11 anyway.
TeamCanjica does not have AOSP, Team-J made it. You are trying to flash AOSP or CM11, those are two differend ROMs.

You avoided answer for my question twice. DO YOU HAVE I9070 OR I9070P? If you have I9070P you will always get status 7 error unless you change something in updater script, and you will not have signal unless you change tee folder.

You have been told on AOSP 4.4 thread, unzipp boot.img from its ZIP and put it to sd card. Install Universla kernel flasher and ES File explorer from Play store and install kernel with Universal kernel flasher. Before that let AOSP zip be on your sd card. Reboot to recovery and install it.
Or just use guide from the thread I already gave you: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2302599

[URGENT HELP] Cant flash N7000 ROM LOOKS LIKE DEAD

Hello Guys,
I need a help from you experts please kindly response my Thread.
I do have a N7000 previously it was running 4.1.2 and then i rooted it .
I too dont have a full backup of this 4.1.2 , it was partially backup-ed when i restore it there comes "SYSTEM UI" error while trying to open settings and some apps , so i cant check now USB debugging .
I try to flash the phone from Philz CWM touch 4 recovery every time i get errors [ PhilZ-cwm6-JPLSB-UAE-4.89.4-signed ]
I try these roms : cm-11-20151130-NIGHTLY-n7000 & pa_n7000-5.1-20150628
Error is status 7 i got some posts about it did same inside meta folder on update script but still its throwing same problem .
Here is the snap "https:// www.dropbox.com/s/dgtw2lek5i0ba9o/4.jpg?dl=0 " <<remove 1 space after https:// >> i just had renamed the ROM ZIP name there in snap while i had reZip it after editing updater script
Problem is I have no firmware on my phone and i cant USE it , if i restore my previous 4.1.2 then it throws SYSTEM UI error & i am not being able to flash any custom ROM .
Please , kindly response in detail so that i will understand what should i do to make my phone as Normal or How can i solve flash error
Thanks in advance
Anuj
Status 7 means your kernel can't support your rom because you are installing different android versions (lollipop rom with jellybean kernel for example), you need to do a full wipe from custom recovery before you can install anything.
Try an Odin flash for stock rom, you don't need USB Debugging for it.
Follow the guide here for flashing instructions

Ahhh, got it. Welcome to the forums!
I used this guide for all my starting out needs. You will need to determine what stock rom you want to install (I suggest Jellybean versions since they don't have a fatal bug) then prepare everything before flashing.
Use this link before Odin flashing if you are interested in increasing your storage space.
And this thread has a list of recoveries for stock roms.
Rule of thumb when flashing is lay out all the stuff you need, determine the steps then proceed.
