App Ops for Stock Rom w/o Root - Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Are there any available mods to make App Ops available for the Xperia Z without rooting? As far as I know it is easily available when rooted but I would prefer if there was another way to have App Ops.
Thanks

I don't think so.
If you want App Ops:

It doen't work now, the dev is working on it
Or you install Xposed Framwork and install XPrivacy. Maybe you will get lucky with this also.

Xposed Framework is compatibile with almost all rooted Androids devices from 4.1 onwards, however not all modules will be compatible with all phones - many are specifically for HTC or Samsung frameworks, and there are some specifically for Xperia's.
Xposed Framework does nothing on it's own, it simply allows for loading of Modules (most of which you can download from within the App itself), which in turn can customise virtually anything on the phone. Many are for notification/status/menu bar though yes.
One tip though: try (and configure) modules one at a time, activating multiple in one reboot is a good way to bootloop your device.
I'm using a rooted dual-recovery 14.1.G.2.257 Z1 with about 20 modules and everything is working great!

im not sure what that app does or what Android version you use (it could be a version depending bug) but install Xposed Framework http://dl.xposed.info/latest.apk, after you installed it (not just the app, the framework) install the module RootCloak, that module hides the root for a specified app,
cant tell if its working didnt tried out,
App not working

question on xposed framework?

Will the xposed framework work on a root android one phone? Specifically the gravity box mod? Has someone installed the xposed framework on a stock android one rom?
My phone is kind of a daily driver, so just checking to see if some one already has done this and their experience if any.

It works perfect. I've been using the gravity box mod for quite a few days now and it works extremely well without any issues. I'm using stock android one ROM and have faced no issues so far.

Thanks guys. Based on feedback went ahead and rooted stock ROM. Got xposed installed and gravity box running.
Did not loose data as I did not unlock boot loader. So app data remained, which is what I wanted.
Overall, I would recommend anyone with this phone to go with xposed framework.
What are the other modules that you guys are finding helpful apart from gravity box?

Ex kitkat themer is another great module for getting better UI . Then there are others like xprivacy Bluetooth unlock toolkit android tuner (this one is an app and module combined in one) and is very useful . These are the ones i can remember now . Scroll through the list to discover others that you need. Hope this helped

Yes I did. Flashing the zip through recovery gets my phone stuck at boot animation and I have to restore a backup to get the phone back to normal.

[Q] How to have theme like z3

Hi there, I have XSP pure stock .205, what I need to do to have themes like Z3 with new battery icon on status bar(notification bar) and new navigation bar? I found some themes on market but it said it needs to be rooted, so Its all i got to do, just root my SP and install that themes and it will look like i have KK with all that good looking icons? Thanks.
P.S. I didnt get the answer on help forum so I posted here.
Normally that's the only thing I think Root ur phone and then go to market or here on xda, there are also lots of themes often with instructions !

To root my SP on stock I use towelroot (download tr.apk from official website by clicking on logo). It's one click et voila, root! Then you can install these other things sure! Xposed is a little more difficult, but there would be tutorials that are very well explained how to do it I don't know how to port xposed to your device, but there are many stock roms who have it pre-installed!
Hope I helped you

Rooted with towelroot but when i tried to install xposed i had bootloop, so dont try it..
Try xposed in custom rom.

Can I trick an app into thinking i gave her premissions? (no root)

I have an app which asks for permission to my contacts in order to start. (She is installed but won't work until ill give her the permission for my contacts).
Is there any way to make her think she has Permissions to my contacts without giving her?
Or to hide the real contacts so she won't be able to see them?
I looked around and saw Xprivacy but I have no root so is there any other option?
Thank You

That app is a big no-no here on xda, so i suggest you edit your post and remove it.
Can you provide more details, like your device and your android version? Xprivacy works up to marshmallow, if you're on Nougat you can try xposed extension protect my privacy, but i think it requires root too.
Since your have xposed installed, why don't you install root? I'm assuming you have a custom recovery to flash xposed so root should not be an issue.

Sorry, but I've seen your post in the xposed general forums, so i assumed you were looking for a n xposed related solution.
I do remember an app that used to decompile and recompile apks while removing permission requirement, but that was old and i can not remember the exact name, maybe try an app that gives you access to appOps on your rom to control access from there?

That app is considered warez/promotes cracking other apps, so it's against xda rules
