"There was a problem with authorization. Please wait while we reset your device"
OK - I have a Nook that was purchased at 1.00. I registered with BN.
Then I used NookColor_v1.1.0_r2.zip to root it.
I installed Market and got ADB to work. Life was great.
I think life started turning south when I went to the BN marketplace and purchased a book. In the middle of reading it, I got the dreaded "There was a problem with authorization. Please wait while we reset your device".
Fortunately, I had backed up my ROM using ROM Manager. So, I re-installed my ROM and it wasn't long before I got the message again. I feel like I'm now in an endless loop of resetting my device. I'm not sure how to get out of it. I've read several threads on this subject that simply leave me confused at this point. I'm looking for guidance. I LOVED my rooted Nook Color while it lasted. I don't like it stock. I'm looking for help.
I've been rooted on 1.0.1 since Christmas, and shortly after I first rooted, I had this happen to me too. There were others affected as well. Back then, we didn't have the recovery image, so I just set everything back up by hand. Since then it hasn't happened to me.
I haven't dug further, but I would guess that there is something that B&N doesn't like in the rooted image, but after a reset, it was happy again. Again, this was with my 1.0.1 root and an earlier rev of Autonooter, but this may be a way out of the loop you're in.
I had the same problem and assumed that it was because BN authorization puts a file on your NC that is date sensitive and if you do a restore (I was using titanium backup) and put an older file in place it will trip this reset scenario. I did a reroot with autonooter 3.0 and restored everything but any BN apps or data and the problem is gone.
Same thing just happened to me too. Going to restore and re-root later today.
I just went through the same problem as well. Tried out Nookie Froyo on emmc. Liked the Nook stock interface better. Tried restoring via CWM and get the "There was a problem with authorization. Please wait while we reset your device" error. Tried it twice and got the same error twice as soon as it connects to wifi.
Ended up having to flash back to stock and start the rooting process all over again. And now it seems to be fine.
Happened to me two weeks ago and I kept restoring. That's the problem, when I restored back to an older rom. Just root it again, restore the apps manually by dling off the market or through Astro. Don't restore the whole thing through CW. It worked for me because I haven't had the problem since then.

It happened to me as well funny thing was that I had a 1.1.0 never rooted Nook Color and I rooted with AutoNooter 3.0.0 and it happened within 24 hours. There was no restoring backups or anything. Any ideas?

Again, my guess is that there is something in the rooting process that trips the reset. If you allow the reset to proceed without restoring the whole rom (Titanium restores should be fine) then you likely won't see it again. It's a little tedious, but should be ok... I've been running rooted for over a month with 1.0.1, and aside from the first reset, it's been smooth sailing.

I allowed it to reset but when it came back I was missing several crucial applications such as gmail, the android market and youtube. The rest (that are included in the root) were there. But I was lost without those applications and believed that a full rom reset was needed. Would there have been another way?
Using Titanium Backup, backup only User apps and data. Do not backup System apps and/or data. When you get back up from the reset and re-root, only restore User apps and data.
Maybe you can restore the ROM and backup just the User apps and data. Remove the SDcard. and then let it reset, or reset it to stock yourself. Get it back to how you want the base, root, install TiBu then restore your User apps and data.
Shameless plug: if you haven't already, buy Titanium Backup. It can be a life saver, or at least a sanity saver. I have no affiliation with the author, just a fan of the program.

A couple days ago my phone app started force closing immediately upon opening it every time. It doesn't work at all now. I am rooted, but I rooted weeks ago and this just started yesterday or the day before. I haven't messed with anything. The only thing that I have done is download apps from the play store... None of which 'should' mess with the phone app.
I have since downloaded an alternative dialer app which works, but I'd rather use stock. I tried rebooting, tried clearing the app's cache and data (in system settings - apps) and no luck.
Any help would be great. Either finding/fixing the issue or a way to reinstall the stock phone app? I am rooted and I believe write protection is off, which I had to do to install busybox. Thanks!

What version are you on. 4.2.2 or 4.4
There is a couple things i would try i have had to do it with other phone specially my old S3
1. restore from a backup when i the dialer was not FC
2. try reinstalling the dialer from the APK located here device/system/prvi-app/dialer.apk
3. pull the dialer.apk out of the correct stock ROM or recover img and replace the one located in the above folder and install it.
but to be honest option one is normally the best way to go and the fastest.
Thanks. I'm on 4.4. I'm going to try option 2 when i get home. I'm not exactly sure how to restore a backup on this phone yet being that i dont really have a recovery.
Edit: option 2 installed ok, but still force closes
let me get you the .apk from the restore img give me about a hour to download it and get you a link
also do you know how to use titanium backup if so i would install it and back up all user apps and data because you might have to do a factory reset. but if you backup with TB you and restore everything right back to ware you was
Hi,
I have serious troubles with my xperia Z phone and i would be very happy if someone could help me. So this is my story:
After i bought my new xperia Z and had it for several months i wanted more of it so i rooted it. then i found an backup app for rooted phones (Titanium Backup). So i backed up my whole phones files with Titanium Backup and exerything worked properly. After a time the new software was out and i was asked to update the existing software. Whithout thinking about it a lot i did so and at first nothing happend. After a while i rebooted it once and the phone and contact icon disappeared. So i opened Titanium Backup and restored my loses. Unfortunately i had to do this each and every time i rebooted my phone and tried uninstalling and reinstalling Titanium Backup a few times but nothing changed so i thought it would stop with time. Then Jelly Bean 4.2.2 came out and it asked me again if i wanted to update my software and so i did. After updating the icons disappeared again and when i tried to restore these again (from Titanium Backup) it just loaded forever and never restored them and i also cant restore anything else from my backup. So i thought that maybe this ****y app just kept updating my backed up files without asking me and that the newer firmwares doesnt support the backuped files from another firmware so it stucked. What can i do now? Should i downgrade me phone two updates down then restore everything, update and make a new backup or something like this?
Thank you and i hope somebody can follow my problem and have an idea how to fix the hole problemm....:crying:

I thought I would search for help on XDA but there does not appear to be anyone who has the problem I am facing.
I want to update Android Revolution HD, or go back to stock or whatever, BUT, I have just noticed that TWRP seems to have gone.
The M7 is unlocked and running ARHD 71.1 with TWRP and SuperSU.
Having decided to update I was making some backups and doing a clear out and I tried to open SuperSU.
SuperSU said it wanted to update, so I wentb through the steps to update SuperSU using TWRP.
Trying to update SuperSU using TWRP tells me 'No apps configured'
Now I am worried about the best procedure.
Should I go back to stock and start again or re-install TWRP or what?
I thought I would ask for some expert help before flying off half cocked and getting everything to go tits up!
Expert advice would be most appeciated.
Regards
p.s. The TWRP folder and backup remains although the app has pushed off.
