Evening all,
I am having a strange issue with my HTC One that i can not resolve nor can i find any information on here or google of anyone with the same issue.
Basically some of the contacts on my phone won't sync with my car bluetooth.
I have tried everything from deleting and re adding the contacts manually, to a full factory reset of both the phone and car Bluetooth.
I have found the issue to be something to do with email accounts. For example if i delete my wife's email account from her contact details her name then shows up in the car. As soon as i re add the email to her contact details it disappears again.
It's not all emails either as some Numbers sync with emails and some don't.
I can categorically say it is the phone causing the issue as my iPhone with the exact same contact list with emails per contact etc Sync's perfectly with the car BT and all names an no's etc show up.
So there is something amiss somewhere on the phone but i can not fathom it out. I'm only talking 78 contacts as well it's not as if it is thousands. I have manually added every single no. to my Gmail account and even though they show up fine on the phone they won't all sync to the car. It has worked briefly once but the next time i came to use the car the same contacts had vanished again.
Does anyone have an idea on what i need to do? As said it is quite obvious it is the phone i just can't fathom out what it is.
I am on JB 4.3 with 3.62.401.1 firmware. I am also in the UK on the 3 Network but i don't think thats the issue as my iPhone is on the same network.
Any help is greatly appreciated

Hi everyone,
I have searched exhaustively on this forum and via google but cannot find a solution anywhere.
Certain emails that I send via Pocket Outlook are only partially being sent. (longer emails)
Its not an SMTP issue because I have tried 3 different SMTP servers and the same thing is happening.
What is very strange is that the entire messages shows up in the sent folder but when someone else receives it only a paragraph shows up. (I have also sent them to one of my emails to test and they are partially showing up). But what is even odder is that its not with all messages, some are being received fine.
I thought that it could be some kind of font issue but that didn't work.
If someone has any ideas I would be grateful as I use the phone for business and my customers are not receiving full emails so its a big problem for me. Also just to add I am pretty sure this just started happening recently and I haven't changed any settings either.
Thanks again for your replies.
For the first week I have owned the Tilt, Xpress mail seemed to work fine. It would push every bit of mail through. I had it set up for both Yahoo and Gmail. Over the course of the following week (up to date) I have made some minor modifications to the phone, and am not sure if they're responsible for the demise of my Xpress Mail service.
What I've done so far is to install Kaiser Tweak and am using almost every advised feature (Hiding SIM contacts never sticks though. after a reset it always goes back to default). I have also downloaded Comm Manager from here, because I was having bad 3G dropouts so this comes in very handy. Outside of those things, that's about it.
But for some reason, my Tilt has been displaying some very sketchy behavior, but the worst offender at the moment is the push mail not working. Even stranger though, is that when I sent myself an email from my Gmail account to test it, rather than the mail going into the yahoo folder, it went into the Gmail folder ?
At one point last night (it's vague, I was very tired) I had to reset the Yahoo password upon request of the program because it said that it needed to be updated. So I did that, and afterward, it seemed to work again. But now, as I'm testing by sending mail to myself, nothing is happening. Well, almost nothing.. .Something peculiar happens. When I send the mail off, I notice that the Tilt's screen gets brighter, as if an event is happening. This happens about 15-20 seconds after sending an email to the Yahoo account, and happens every time, so it's not a coincidence.
I'm still within my 30 day trial for the Tilt, and I'm getting frustrated with it, thinking about getting a (gasp) iPhone or perhaps a Treo 750 if it functions any better. I really want to like the Tilt but for one thing, I am not getting any HSPA service here in NYC (where I thought I would) and 3G is piss poor where it counts, so isn't even worth it. It's why I got an unlimited data plan, but now I'm thinking about canceling it.
I got the phone on the 8th and would like to sort this out before the 30 days is up. Can anyone please assist me with this ?
Thanks,
doug
By the way, I'm running Win Mob 6.0 and the original ATT ROM that came with it last week.
CE 5.2.1622 (build 18128.0.4.4)
And, I'm not sure that this has anything to do with it but (or is useful info) when I open the Comm Manager, the Microsoft direct push button is greyed out and is not able to be toggled. I also have 3G set to off when I'm in my house. I've tried a soft boot, but that didn't do anything. I'm about to do a hard boot now.

Now the client is really bugging out. When I go to menu > tools> new account, all it does is go to the Yahoo Inbox (which is empty always). I can also access this menu through Options, then click on New Account but then nothing happens at all ? I just deleted my Yahoo account to see if I could create a new one from there, but nothing happens.
This is not boding well for the Tilt. I'd really appreciate some help. Things were just fine when I got it the first week. Is there a way to restore the phone to factory defaults and such ?

Also, when I hit "send/receive" it says error synchronizing very quickly on the bottom. And if I try it again, I get an error message "S7900: Another update operation is currently in progress"
I had the same problem, however so did my wife. We both have Kaisers and were emailing instead of chatting all the time. Our emails sudenly stopped updating automaticaly. Happened on both phones so I called the provider. Turns out there was an update that killed the push function from hotmail, gmail, and a couple others. ATT suggested I download the BB Connect until the error has been corrected. Been about 3 weeks now and no fix made.
This seems strange, and I admit that I am baffled by this one, but I set up an email account for someone on their phone yesterday so they could received their emails when they weren't at home. It's a Charter IMAP email setup, but here's the weird part: the emails sync to the phone just fine, but since setting it up on the phone they have stopped showing up through Outlook on the computer.
I have seen I believe on other Android devices a setting that says to keep the message on the server as well, but I did not find that setting on the Milestone (Droid). So, is the problem phone side, or computer side? And how do I fix it?
I have been struggling with this for the past week and if I can't get this resolved, I will be sending back my HTC One and going back to a Galaxy.
When I pair my phone with me 2013 Audi A6, it attempts a phone book transfer but then dies before completing. I end up with no contacts showing up as well. These are the same contacts that I sync via Outlook.com on my Samsung which has no issues. Now before anyone starts telling me that the "One" is not compatible with the Audi MMI (which it has not been tested on), if I manually add contacts to the phone everything works perfectly fine. So it's not the car or necessarily the phone, but something that the phone does when sending contact information to the car that causes it to crap out.
I've gone through my contacts to clean up any strange formatting or information but it doesn't seem to help. And again, my Galaxy S3 works without an issue.
In looking over other forums, it would seem the HTC phone seem to have issues with various car bluetooth links. Is it something in the way they handle their phone book? Would another ROM solve this problem?
Appreciate any input you might have!

Hello, that's a bit strange because I had no problems with the transfer in my 2010 Audi. Could be a different version MMI,can't think of another reason.
Solved!
After a lot of troubleshooting and back and forth I finally figured this out. My contacts have been populated by an automatic business card scanner. Apparently when it reads a business card address, it will insert a "\n" (carriage return) into some of the street addresses. It appears that the HTC phone book doesn't translate that correctly and sends the "\n" directly to the car phone book which chokes on it. Removing the "\n" from the address entries resolves the problem.
Why did my Samsung not have a similar issue? That's because it does NOT SEND the "\n" to the car because the Samsung phone book strips off the "\n" as it stores the address. I confirmed this by synching both phones with my Outlook.com account and then going to the respective phone's contacts/people and exporting the address book in VCARD format. On the Samsung phone, there were no "\n" entries while on the HTC they were there.
This probably affects all the fields that are transferred to the car... fields such as Notes are not transferred and therefore not an issue.
While this is my first HTC phone, I suspect they all act this way which means, if you have any HTC phone and are having a problem synching with your car (an rampant problem judging by a google search), I would check your contacts to see if you have any "\n" entries and remove them and then seeing if they work.
Sorry for the long post, but I thought if someone one day does a google search and comes across this post, then they will at least have a better understanding of a possible solution!
Hi,
Just got the verizon S8 a week ago and this has been driving me nuts. When my gf calls, her name doesn't come up. Only displays her number. My contacts are on my gmail account. All other contacts i have show up. She has an iphone and her name showed up on my old s5. Her phone is already set to display caller ID and so is mine. I spend like a few hours aday trying to troubleshoot this.. No luck whatsowever. Weird thing is, sometimes when she calls, her number appears with a ;oli=62 behind it. Example: 714-555-5555;oli=62. I googled oli (originating line information) but it makes no sense to me..
Things i've tried already:
1) resync gmail contacts
2) deleted her contact on gmail/phone/etc
3) readded her contact to phone internal storage and also gmail again
4) tried in safe mode to see if a application is blocking it
5) rebooted phone of course
6) re-adding her contact info with her data deleted from gmail
7) called verizon support
8) and last but not least.. reset/restored original s8 to factory
HELP.. i was gonna try to exchange the phone for another s8 but i really don't think that might be the issue.. i tried researching IPHONE issues with caller ID not showing up but all her settings seems correct.
Thanks in advance.
Same...
I'm having the same issue on my Note 5 after updating to Nougat. I'm having the issue with only one friend, no one else.
I found a temp fix. Go to your a computer and log into your Google contacts. Add that weird number. Example. 555-555-5555;oli=62 to the contact along with the regular number. That should fix it.

Same issue on my new s8+, adding the number plus ;oli=62 on the Google contacts via editing from your Google contacts from googles website works great, thanks for the work around. The only problem I have with these Samsung devices is the slow ass updates. Their still on 7.0 even though 7.1.2 has been released for months
Me too. I have a Note 5 on VZW. Pretty sure it started after the Nougat update as well. And also for only one contact. I know I could add those characters to the contact info, but I want to know why the heck it happens for only one contact. Found this info (not that it cleared up jack for me, lol) - https://www.dialogic.com/webhelp/IMG1010/10.5.3/WebHelp/oli_isdn_sip.htm
i have this same problem. It is on a S6 and has been happening since before the Nougat update. It only happens to me for 2 contacts 1 full time and the other off and on. If i look at the missed calls screen afterwards the phone displays the correct contact just during the incoming call is it not displaying.
the problem actually stopped for me around the time of the roll-out and then started back up a week or so later.
The only connection that i can find is that both of them use Family mobile (T-mobile) service.
Last time i researched this problem, i found the same problem a few years ago with T-mobile and VOIP phones but never found a solution
its the feds
Are you just being a douche or are you serious?

This is the same problem I'm having. I have the S8 on Verizon the two contacts whose numbers don't work are both on T-Mobile. One of the numbers it happens to constantly and has the xxx-xxx-xxxx;oli=62 while the other number does it intermittently w/o the extra's at the end.
"Me To" Bus
Ok, I'm a "Me to" I blocked all phone calls except for people in my contacts, because of all the Spam calls.
But my best friend gets blocked because of this problem.
I have a Samsung S4 Note, Also using Verizon. And google contacts.
I'm going to save him only under Verizon Contacts. And see if that does anything.
He is using a Blu Phone and also using T-Moble.
Anyone have any idea's?
Jim
my phone just started doing this when I installed a reminder ap. I uninstalled it, and it stopped. Hope this helps.
