[Q] Manual update TF701 - Asus Transformer TF701

Hello.
I recently received an update to my TF701. I already had 4.3 and this update boot looped and made me wipe data twice. After the tablet starts I have 4.2.2. How can I update manual to 4.3, because I can't find in system updates a new update and I downloaded the manual update from asus website, but I don't know how to install it. Any help will be very very big appreciated.

Please, I really need help

I've got the exact same problem. I received an update and now he's in a boot loop for 40 minutes now...

Same don't know what to do Stuck on the Asus boot screen with the flashing circle.

I got the solution guys! First wipe data in bootloader (hold power and vol down(I wiped data twice, still had some problems after the first wipe)). Then your device will boot and you will have 4.2.2. Then download the firmware from ASUS support ( page worked for me 6 hours ago, but now it does not work, I will give you the link when I will get to my pc) and place the firmware on the tablet (not in a folder, just directly where all the folders are) and your tablet will automatically notify you about the update found on the memory (is really easy). Hope I was helpful for you guys, ASUS ruined this day for me, I had 20 gigs on my memory and they were all ereased...

Could rooting be causing as problem because that's threw only difference between our devices, besides storage sizes, mine being a 16gb, hers being a 32gb.
I'm sure that won't matter, would it?

Numerous threads popping up all over asking the same questions, Mods are going to shut & lock many of these out soon - suggest that one read and use the SEARCH button. My OTA was downloaded already and ready to install but choose to wait 48 hours first.
4.2.2 rollout is for USA / North America now - gradually - and OTA if you are essentially running stock rom & kernel - simple update without losing Apps or data (CWM backup, always, as best practices) - took me 15 minutes from downloading, prep & backup to actual flashing and reboot, etc.
I opted to take a shortcut and went from 4.1.2 directly to 4.2.2 using the zipped, deodexed rooted version w busy box - bootloader stayed on 3.41 running JDQ39 now, smooth. I uninstalled the DSP/Beats Audio/Noozxoide EIZO-rewire audio Apps, just in case - and reinstalled EIZO from Play Store afterward, freeze Chrome browser & switched back on Boat Browser w. Flash Player, OTG mount is working for external USB, etc.
Using N7 from other regions of the world, download using the links here on XDA, check MD5's and then go thru the steps - profit & enjoy.
Just to confirm then, and this will help a lot of other users:
Being on a stock but rooted rom with a stock kernel would make no hindrance to receiving the ota update, and the advice for people experiencing this situation would be to just be patient and wait?

Yes, my N7 was on rooted 4.1.2 factory rom & stock kernel, with minor tweaks for audio, Chrome browser frozen but no major mods otherwise, and the OTA file was downloaded already on the device when I checked yesterday, ready to install. From various threads posted in the last 48 hours, it's a mixed bags - some install easily while others ran into problems, reasons varied & solutions simple to unknown. I opted for a safer approach - reverse some of my tweaks/uninstalled the audio tweaks, unfreeze Chrome, rebooted & then wipe, before using CWM to flash. It was easy, rebooted and up & running in less than 10 minutes, ALL of the apps & data intact and no FC'd.
For (folks in Europe or Asia, etc.) not willing to wait or access to OTA and prepared to do it on your own (thus, taking the risks, however - small, do your backup first and save your data/settings/etc. with CWM or TWRP and Titanium Backup - to a HDD or USB drive (suggested: 8GB & up) or PC - just in case, for restoration in the "unlikely event" that something go wrong.
Here's the XDA-linked Factory IMG 4.2.2 Nakasi file links, either odexed or deodexed (rooted, insecure boot, etc.) that I used - also, download the bootloader zip in post #2 (not required or needed, but in case you needed it or wanted to use it as the latest bootloader) - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2148337
Download, check MD5's and transfer to the N7. Next - launch into bootloader (make sure USB debugging is enabled & unknown source is allowed too) and WIPE dalvik cache and cache (2 times or 3 times each) - then selected the zip to flash. Once done, exit & reboot and wait for it to boot up for the 1st. time and allow it to settle for a few minutes. Click Settings & confirmed that I'm on 4.2.2 and check a few Apps for functionality. Let it sit & shutdown, reboot & proceed to restore most of my tweaks, played videos & music, surf the web to reconfirm that it's running smooth - next, do a new baseline CWM Backup.
Of course, YMMV - if it doesn't work for you, re-trace your steps and take your time, do not RUSH. If all else failed, go back to stock first 4.1 or 4.2 - then, update to 4.2.1 in its rooted state - your saved Apps & data, settings, etc. saved to your PC or USB/portable drive will eventually help you "rebuild" - just a matter of time. (If my other 2 HTC's are that easy to update from GB to JB, I would be very, very happy)
Please give credit for "thanks" to "teshxx" for preparing the Roms and refer to that thread for future questions ...
Good Luck to all.
Great information, thanks for the hefty reply, may be worth stickying for a few weeks I'm sure others will have the same questions.
I believe installing Beats audio can screw things up too? Can some one confirm?

Go back to complete stock. As in everything the way it was when you first turned it on. No root or decryption, lollipop made it so every file has to be exactly the same or it will fail.
Damn I was afraid of that, this is like the third time I formatted this phone today
So those of us who modified our build.prop and renamed the att boot animation can't flash updates from google?
What about if we restore that stuff but still are rooted? Can we flash google-sourced Roms then?
-Peter
I'm surprised no one has made a flashable zip of this yet.

(noob) How to flash the downloaded update file?

I have downloaded the open beta update file (1.45 gb). But I don't know how to update my phone to that. Can anyone please guide me through the procedure?
Sent from my ONEPLUS A3003 using Tapatalk
Just follow the instructions from the thread to install from stock recovery.
Imo, the beta path is more for experienced members that are going to find bugs and able to take logs of the issues and send them to OnePlus for diagnosis. Best bet for new users to use stable path.
I updated from 4.0.3 to beta 4 via local, but now I want to go back because of the battery drain problem. I tried several times via adb sideload to flash the zip but I keep getting the same error <cannot read 4.0.4.zip> over and over again. Even after installing the drivers, I got a little yellow exclamation triangle near the driver in device manager. Honestly I'm starting to give up, I think I wiped my phone more than 5 times in order to flash via sideload, only to get the same error continuously. as far as I know, I cannot go back to 4.0.3 via local from beta 4 right?
Please help...
Did you already redownload the zip?

Personally I think is not worth it. This is not final build and will delete data from your device. Then next one will show up in couple days or even (maybe) tomorrow. If I will you I will wait for around another 3-4 weeks to get more stable build.

I tried it -- the installation took about an hour in Recovery, mainly stayed in the "Patching system files". This install *WILL* wipe your phone (not your SD card though).
The build was super fast (even faster than a fresh Nougat flash).
There were two things that caused me to flash back to Nougat.
- The Wi-Fi was extremely weak. At my desk at work, I can normally see 6 Wi-Fi networks. 4 of them are in my office. With Oreo, I could only see two of them, and it struggled to stay connected to the one that I normally have full signal on.
- Also, my AT&T Gear S2 Classic could not be connected. Upon attempting to pair (after confirming the PIN on phone/watch) Samsung Gear gave a message stating that I need to ensure my phone was compatible and that I had the latest Samsung Gear app. I confirmed that there were no available updates for ANYTHING in the Play Store and Galaxy Apps. Both stores showed that my app was up to date.
If it weren't for those two issues, I'd still be on the Oreo build right now.
Another point -- I experienced my first freeze/reboot on this phone in Oreo. I've had the phone since June of last year and never had any freeze/reboot issues previously. Never dropped or gotten the phone wet, etc.
Hope this helps anyone who is wanting to flash the build!

You need to ODIN to 935A's latest build (BRA1) then you can upgrade to this Oreo build by flashing it in Recovery.

Thanks to @norbarb for that link. I downloaded it the other day. You will have to unRAR the files after you open the initial ZIP file -- otherwise ODIN won't find the files.

Without a PC, you cannot update to Oreo unless you're already on the AT&T G935A firmware.

As far as I can tell, there's not an OTA sideload update path to BRA1. Someone else may be able to chime in with it.
I assume you are not an AT&T customer, otherwise you could use the official OTA method to get to BRA1.

I face the same issues you have described. Originally after applying the Oreo update, I was not able to enable Bluetooth nor WiFi. I had to reboot to recovery and wipe cache.
Once that was done, I was able to get WiFi and Bluetooth to work.
I have the Galaxy Fit2 and was not able to sync watch to the phone with the same error you received. ( I tried the version 3..1.80.80109 of Samsung Accessory Service as suggested in another thread, no luck.)
WiFi as you described is pitiful, luckily I don't rely on WiFi as much so I will continue on with this Oreo build.
Does anyone know how to turn off the red heart rate sensor light off? It is accidentally turning on even if I dont get my finger on it after oreo update

Wifi issue meaning weak signals in Wifi connection on Oreo. I simply followed the steps in flashing through SD card and it took a while (40 mins or so) but eventually it went through the install.

Hi guys,
I solved yesterday this topic and now I run Android 10.
I have followed the tutorial present in xda forum to convert from CN to WW.
Also if the release 16.0631 appear older, after you mount it you will be able to update to Android 10.
Please let me know if you need the links (also YouTube tutorial).
After you complete release installation, go to Asus official site and download the latest official version of v. 16.xxxxx update, locate on internal memory and restart phone. This update will be detected and installed.
After this step, proceed in the same way to download v. 17.xxxx (Android 10) file and install following the same procedure.
