[Q]Gamekiller 4.3 - Galaxy S III I9305 (4G LTE + 2GB RAM) Q&A, Help &

Hi guys
Basically i flashed my phone with the germany 4.3 firmware and did the CF-Auto root method but i seem to be having problems with Gamekiller 4.3 as it keeps saying "Root privilege needed" so i'm not entirely sure whether i'm rooted properly and i've used alot of apps to check and all of them seem to say that i'm rooted
Thanks

hey ! gamekiller and gamecih don't seem to work on android 4.3. my gamekiller has root acces but it just exits and starts back again. on gamecih i grant superuser acces but it still requires it xD. now i'm using gameguardian and seems to be working good. at least it's an alternative.

Same for me, gamekiller crashes and restart again.

I see and here i thought i was the only one with the problem.I've tried gameguardian but im having problems hacking Fifa 14 etcetc.

I ran into this problem the other day, disabling Knox didn't work, I couldn't flash back to 4.1, and in the end I gave up, installed clockworkmod recovery and then manually flashed cyanogenmod 10.1.3 (stable) (I couldn't get the auto-installer to work for some reason). Game killer works fine on my I9305 now.

[Q] Root not working?

So I rooted my new Captivate (Rogers, I896) using this method
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=827544
Everything worked perfectly, and the Superuser Access icon appeared in the app drawer. Unfortunately, no programs can gain superuser access. ROM Manager keeps giving me an error when I try to do anything (flash recovery, fix permissions etc) and doesn't show up on the list of 'Superuser' programs. I haven't gotten any prompts to allow access, either, so I don't know what's wrong. Any ideas, XDA?
It's quite possible that your root is incomplete, that happens sometimes with some rooting methods. You should try re-rooting. That thread lists at least three rooting methods, which one did you use?

I rooted using the method from the link in my first post. You were right, though - it was incomplete. I re-rooted with z4 and it worked perfectly -- enjoying AXURA and the lack of TouchWiz =D

Problem with root apps

Hi,
I have an OB with stock rom 10e and Quasar Kernel. The rom is rooted and everything works fine, but I have one problem though:
At first launch all the root apps work fine (I grant superuser permissions and such), but when I try to start the app again (e.g. Root Explorer) the app just gets stuck in the opening process. This happens with different root apps. The only solution is to kill the app and clear the app's data via the settings menu. Then it works again.
Anybody has a clue?
Hum... can you try to clear cache and data of Superuser app, launch it and click ok about the features and then launch apps using root (of course it will ask again for permission) ?
I'm not sure it will resolve your problem but... well I'm trying something. ^^

That seemed to fix it. Will see, if the problem returns. Thanks!
Did you update SuperUser app and su file?
Problem persists. I rooted the phone using the blackjack.exe from UPK package. Superuser is version 3.0.7, I don't know about the binary though. Should I just reinstall superuser?

Arf too bad. :/
What is the version of your su executable ?

The binary was outdatet (was 3.0.0) and I updated it via the superuser app. Seems better now. I will wait and see. Thanks for your help!

Lost root after flashing SmoothROM 4.4

Hey guys. I got my grouper yesterday, I'm hoping for a warm welcome
The first thing I did when I took it out of the box was fire it up, unlocked and rooted. When I rooted, I flashed SuperSU flashable. I also flashed CWM touch. After that I flashed SmoothROM 4.4, and I was solid. I installed all of my usual apps, then went to do what I call debloating, (Looking for apps I don't use such as voicedialer.apk, and deleting them) using root browser (/system/app). I noticed it wouldn't delete, then tried another app that requires root permissions. Nothing. I got suspicious, then re-downloaded root checker. "Sorry! You're device does not have proper root access!" What happened? Is this just me, or is this a widespread problem with this ROM? I'd like to keep this ROM if possible. Is there a way to re-root my device (more or less)? Thanks, a response or any help would be very much appreciated.

Rom specific questions need to be posted in that rom's thread. Do not start new threads about custom rom issues.

I am having same issue
This issue has been addressed; do a Verizon Nexus Forum search.
Uninstall supersu, reboot, then install the market version, not the flash able zip

[Q] Banking Apps/Barclays PingIT

Hi. Can anyone confirm for me whether UK banking apps Barclays App/PingIT, LloydsTSB app will continue to work on a rooted HTC One?
I believe they will fail to work as they will detect the rooted status and call this a security issue, am I correct?
Thanks
yes, you are correct, they will not work with root.
Some have had success in hiding root to run the app, then unhiding afterwards, but for me that's a lot of hassle just to use the bank app when I can use the mobile web page, you may feel otherwise.
I do.. Barclays web takes about 4 codes to log in including one from either the card code unit or from the phone app.
The phone app needs just one 5 digit code and you are in and of course PingIT is a phone only tool and very useful.
then have a look at this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2360142 and give it a go
i think superSU has a hide option? unlike superuser. so you could try that. i was using that to hid root from some games that disabled themselves when they detected root.
barclays app was working on my rooted 4.1.2. it stopped working when i upgraded to 4.2.2.
Yep, same thing happened to me, i managed to get an old apk of the app, so it's working again. Thought i could do the same with pingit, but didnt complete, Message appeared saying update to the latest version. Only a matter of time before the online banking app does the same.
Uninstal the barclays app first then download temp root remover from the playstore. Temporary remove root instal the app and you are good to go then..
I did the like that but you might be comprising your bank account details if using on root. Thats what rumours are all about..

[Q] Thinking of rooting note att but have question

Is it possible to unroot after I have my phone rooted and will I still have phone calls/text/data?
Yes and yes
Sent from my SM-N900A using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Thank you can you direct me to the how to root?
Towel root . Then install busybox and supersu .then open busybox and follow what it says .
Google it and it will give you everything you need to know . Its realy easy you should have any trouble but make sure you open busybox and use the install within it.

Do i need to back up? im already backing up stuff like texts settings and whatnot with kies 3 what about the stock rom?
I dont think there is a way to backup your rom until you root . After root install safestrap then you can backup your rom through it . What are you on kitkat or jb?
Sent from my SM-N900A using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
KitKat i already have the apk downloaded just making sure i do it right lol
Ok . Like i said run the apk install supersu and busybox grant permissions in supersu you must open busybox and let it run the install after all thats done then for giggles i would reboot to make sure everthing takes . Try titanium backup to back up your apps and data . Then if you want to go further download safestrap 3.75 and open it and install it then reboot and you should be good . Search youtube for safestrap and watch the videos before you do it it will help alot cause thats where you can destroy your phone if you dont know what yoir doing its also where you can backup your rom .

What helped me the most was i youtubed everthing before i did it and it realy helped me alot .everything your trying to do is on you tube if you want to watch it first .you can read this forum but it might take you a month to find the answer you want but the info is here.
