[Q] [LG Optimus 2x P990] Messed up with P999 G2x ROM - LG Optimus 2x

Hey,
I come from a Stock 2.3.4 ROM for LG Optimus 2x (P990). Wanted to install the latest Cyanogenmod and booted into Recovery, did the 3 wipe steps but then I couldnt find my zip from Cyanogenmod on my external SD. So I rebooted and only the LG logo showed up. Only solution was to flash it and for that I used a stock T-Mobile ROM which was U.S. (so I cant even use my SIM card there, Wifi is working though) But I didnt know it was for P999 and I have a German P990.
So now I'd like to either go back to Stock ROM or go straight to Cyanogenmod but I cannot do a SmartFlash Tool reset as it doesnt recognize my phone as P990. I tried dozens different methods but just would like to go back and then to flash to Cyanogenmod as my Stock ROM was 1&1 carrier branded (branded, NOT SIM locked) and couldnt update to the latest Android version and was basically stuck on 2.3.4.
Did this method too (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2585264), it goes into "S/W Upgrade Please wait while upgrading..." but SmartFlash Tool doesnt recognize the phone as P990 due to the P999 ROM probably (LG USB driver installed, APX driver also).

Aio toolkit works wonders in this situation ....u can download it from development section ....install apx driver first which is included in toolkit ....

No it doesnt. As I mentioned I did this and it gave out an error. Could not locate partition or something. Bootloader is okay the toolkit said.

i read somewhere did because i have removed system apps i will not get ota anymore is that so?
could that be the reason? i didn't freeze anything just removed them permanently.
if so how can i get back to the original STOCK LG (the easiest way)

The problem is because you have CWM on the phone,
I had the same issue.
you have to remove CWM (don't know how to do that).
Or do a flash with smartflash back to V10A and then you can update to V10B and then again to V10C.
You are from the netherlands you can also look here: http://gathering.tweakers.net/forum/list_messages/1453370 (is in dutch)
thanks,
i just flashed with 0614 bb and new kernel (BIN_LGP990AT-00-V10c-EUR-XX-APR-16-2011+0)
restoring now the backup

So I'm trying to flash a KDZ to my phone, I go to R&D Test Tool
Steps I took -
1. Made the Type 3GQCT
2. Selected KDZ & PhoneMode
3. Unplug Battery
4. Clicked Start Upgrade
5. Pushed Power & Vol +(Up)
5/6. Let go of Vol + & Power after vibration.
6. I wait, and get a small vibration.
7. My computer searches for Drivers.
8. Says Driver Fails
9. I press Vol + & Power again.
Final, I get this Screen.

Hi, i'm in the same predicament as rydeN-
This is what The Dark Lestat asked and I can answer for myself, as for rydeN- I hop you're paying attention.
You have P920 firmware on a P925 device.
Please answer the following.
Does the phone turn on?
Does the phone boot to the homescreen?
Are you on a GB baseband?
Do you have CWM installed?
Once you have answered the following, I can continue.
[*]My phone turns on, YES!
[*]My phone enters Homescreen, YES!
[*]On a GB Basband? No, but this is what I was wanting to achieve by doing the same as our poor rydeN-. I've no clue how to install Baseband and I was thinking I'd have to add P920 Firmware and make my phone a P920 to add Baseband.
[*]I don't have Root, Service, or CWM.
My phone gets NO Signal when SIM is in the phone.
If someone could easily get me back to a clean P925 and on GB Baseband I'd love you.
Thank you
Alright.
Can you root the current firmware?

Yes, I think it is.
Since I've no service and need my SIM Card to work, could I ROOT and boot.img and then Flash ROM to get Service?
If you want gb root your 10k firmware then install the cwm then get the lgflashtool download the .fls for v20b (not21b) baseband over in o3d forum it works great for me flash using the how to install gb on thrill and return to stock forum in thrill dev section and flash the .fls and flash a gb rom (download rom on sd card first then flash .fls) then enjoy gb or flash the v20a kdz not rootable but has all the freqs needed or 4g in us
Dont forget to wipe wipe wipe
Thrill 4g on O3D
If you root and install the CWM for P925, you should be able to get service.

And I'm assuming hoskopico knows which boot.img to port and where the tut is!
I feel helpful.
I got Saia- rooted.

Okay, hosko this is what me and The Dark Lestat gave did.
I rooted and flashed while I was on v10k, we flashed a P925-update-stock-rom.
The Signal you'll see in this picture is all I'm getting everywhere I go.
NOTE!: I did wipe the phone after I got signal back and did Restore and old Nandroid Backup I had made, even before that on the Stock ROM I got 1 Bar of Signal.
Help me out a bit here? I've not tried making any calls since I flashed everything back. Should I make some calls then report back I'm after?

Flashed Phone doesnt boot from Custom Rom ?

Alright so here's the deal. I just rooted my phone (the superuser app is present in the menu).
There is a custom clockwork recovery thing I got going on..
So I`m trying to follow some tutorials (say the official Cyanogenmod one!) which tell you to select "install from zip" when the clockwork recovery thing is loaded. So I do that, and install the recommended stable version cm-7.2.0-p990. (Oh and I've done it about 5 times now.)
The next step is to reboot and enjoy Cyanogenmod.. except that after the reboot I just get a clean version of the official ROM again, where I have to go through the initial setup.. So what the heck am I doing wrong here ?
What bootloader are you on? What version of stock ROM you have? How did you root and install CWM? Answer these then we can move on.
I rooted my phone using the AIO-ToolKit listed here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2020737
After that I flashed the recovery using Nvflash-Recovery program through batch, which makes the phone boot CWM recovery. (Had to install some APX driver on my PC first)
My phone is running the latest official rom available : Android 4.0.4 kernel 2.6.39.4

Okay weird, http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_p990 clearly suggest using Clockworkrecoverymod recovery.
What do you suggest for bootloader ? Since there doesnt seem to be a later Cyanogenmod version for the LG P990
why don't you simply go to developer section of p990 forum and find yourself a good working CM10 or CM10.1 rom for new bootloader?
every thread has the instructions/features described in the first 3 posts...
ps:
CWM has nothing to do with your problem here...
yes as above said go to development section, there you can find listed all roms for new bootloader. they SHOULD work

Okay strange, cheers guys !
I installed some rom and boy what a difference.. Looks like I can get rid of my iPhone 5
Nah, joke. This'll serve beautifully as a backup, or maybe I'll give it to my little brother as his first phone.

You can nvflash to a custom ROM and then later revert back to a stock ROM......read slowly and understand....
With a custom ROM you can get access to the pc suite in some....try using the thread to find...think most remove it as we have other good recovery backup apps....

L90 flashing problem

Hi everyone.
Yesterday night i tried to install twrp recoveryon my Lg L90 (d405).
I rooted it, and i installed aboot.img, and flashed twrp.zip.
After that, i restarted the phone, but it was dead.
Nothing hapend, when i wanted to turn on, same thing for the firmware upgrade screen, and nothing when i pluged in the charger.
I found a solution here at xda, i reinstalled the rom, but it was v20b, and i had v20a.
And now i even cant take back the v20a rom. If i flash a v20a rom with LG flash tool 2014, evrything is okay, but my rom is still v20b. Even i cant flash v20b, when i flash a KitKat v10c, and after that i flash v20a.
My IMEI also lost. And my wifi dosent work with v20b, and no roaming.
I use the v10c Kitkat now.
Sorry for my bad english.
Can anyone help flash the v20a rom?
Hi. Did you use LG Flashtool in emergency mode as it is explained in the thread to relock the phone? Make sure you use a kdz for the exact phone model you have.

I do the same u told, but nothing.
Do you have any other idea?
Sorry, I don't have any other ideas...
If you flashed the wrong kdz for your model, probably you have to find a tutorial to wipe everything for your model (there are many D405, remove the battery and look for your exact model), or perhaps the post for hard brick that requires that you disassemble your phone.
