Firefox's graphical performance on this tablet is bizarrely poor. Scrolling is like a slideshow on any vaguely complex/graphical page. This is the case both with Firefox, and its latest Nightly build. Has anybody found any solution or filed a bug for this? The high resolution screen may play a part in this, but performance is far worse than the Nexus 10, which has the same resolution display and far slower hardware.

Contact the firefox devs and tell them. They should be the people fixing it, Quote the stock browser and chrome being much faster.
Firefox beta runs fine on mine. For example, CNN or Yahoo News scrolls smooth to me.

Yeah, this browser is supposed to be one of the best, but on the TF701 it is really buggy and laggy... hopefully they will fix the issue. Right now I'm using stock and Opera, occasionally Chrome

I bought a new NC.Both the 1.2 stock rom and cm7.1 are very lugy.Zooming and scrolling in the browser, the aniamtion when opening or closing an application and the menu and etc. are very luggy. I also tried OC to 925mhz but no luck.
Videos that compares nook color and Galaxy Tab shows very smooth operation when comes with the same situation I mentioned above. So Why?
So is "lugy" like trying to do the dougie?

925 speed is not over clocking, it is really stock speed. Is your nc rooted and does it have dal ringers OC kernel? also comparing the speed to a galaxy is not a fair comparison since they are totally different gpus if you are speaking of the 10.1. Root it, install cm on it, then put the right kernel on it, OC then...adjust videos with handbrake and run the videos then...you will be in for a elegant surprise.
CM7 on .32 isn't even laggy at 800mhz on the stock kernel. It's smoother overclocked but it's not a big deal unless you play games where you really need that extra 1-2 fps
I suspect he has something else going on.
I have upgrade to a nightlies version and find a lot smoother now although zooming and scroling in web browser is not so googd as I expected.

Web pages with javascript and lots of ad links really slow the browser down. A good example is the XDA forums which is slowish on my i7 Windows 7 system with 8 GB of memory.
Opera mobile is really smooth compared to the stock browser and Dolphin. The draw back is there aren't many options in the settings.

features over performance always, right?
There's no GPU acceleration in the stock browser so I would use Opera Mobile instead.
I've been running stable CM10.1.3 on a couple of HD+ tablets. I have noticed a weird video glitch in the web browser on several web sites. It most definitely has to do with pages that have pictures (or some sort of image) on them. What happens is the picture gets kind of magnified but not exactly, it is more like a banded blur (about 1 inch wide) which runs the length of the screen. This band always has a part of an image in it which looks like it is being magnified somehow.
This is annoying and makes the site pretty much unusable. Has anyone else experienced anything similar to this?
I tried using Dolphin instead and get random program closures with it. So the stock browser actually seems to work better.
Well, I've upgraded to 10.2 nightlies and still see the same issues.
One thing that might be coming into play is that I have changed my screen dpi to 320. Does anyone else see this?
Also I do have flash installed, but don't think this is flash related.
Most browsers are crashing at the sight of an animated GIF on webpages. So far, Boat Browser, CM Browser, Maxthon Browser, and Naked Browser crash at the sight of the animated GIF attached to this thread below.
Chrome and Dolphin are the only two browsers that aren't crashing while viewing the image. Dolphin is unusable at the moment because it hasn't been updated yet, and I don't care for the UI and options in Chrome.
Having said that, this problem doesn't exist when using the same browsers and viewing the same image on my Note 3 running Kit Kat. In fact, I have zero browser issues on my Note 3.
Another browser issue I'm having is with the loading of previous tabs. If I open two tabs, then close the second tab, the first one loads relatively slowly (graphically). This is the case with Boat Browser (and the others listed above), but not with Chrome. This problem is also not present on my Note 3 with any browser.
I'm not sure where the browsers store tabs (RAM or disk), but my Note 3 is faster loading tabs than the Nexus, which is pretty sad, in my opinion. Scrolling webpages is faster and smoother on the Nexus, but that's about it.
And frankly with 3 GB's of RAM, I don't know why a browser would load tabs from disk instead of RAM, which could mean that the RAM on this phone is slower than the RAM on the Note 3.
I've used 3 different ROMs, 3 different kernels. Enabled "Force GPU" in dev options. Even unencrypted in case the browser was reading and writing from the disk instead of RAM. The slow graphical loading of previous tabs is still present on the Nexus 6 no matter what I try.
I'm > < this close to selling my Nexus because of all the unstable browsers and slow graphics. I've had nothing but constant crashing of browsers. And the slow graphic loading of previous tabs on this phone which is non-existent on my Note 3 is also disappointing. I've read around the forums where people have had graphics issues with games that don't exist on other phones.
I've reduced the screen size from 1440 down to 1080, causing less strain on the GPU, and the slow graphics issue was still there in the browsers.
I love the customizeability, screen size, and openness of the Nexus. But at this point, that's where my love for this phone ends. My Note 3 is more stable.
Anyone have any suggestions or input? A little unhappy and disappointed at this point.
** Edit to add: I understand that apps may not be updated or optimized for the 1440 screen size and for Android 5.x. But app developers have had how long now to update their apps? Not really an excuse.
If you're that unhappy with your N6, and are unwilling to use a browser that is updated and actually works, go back to your beloved Note 3. There's the validation you're looking for.
It's all just an illusion

Oh, I'm not unhappy. You do make a valid point.
Anybody experiencing huge lag on playstore? It's lagging like my old galaxy s3....
My current htc one m8 has no such lag. Shouldn't the Tab S2 handle heavy graphic app like the playstore easily?
https://youtu.be/Z2l89lmpvig
Hello,
if you think this is a big problem please do a factory reset. Are you using a Custom ROM? Thank you.
I had stock 5.0.2 earlier, and now stock 5.1.1 (flashed with odin), both showed lag on playstore. There is also some lag when scrolling in YouTube app. But besides that, everything is (almost) smooth in menus, chrome, twitter. Wanted to know if other people have the same experience.
Maybe i'm used to my htc m8, it has no lag or jittery animation at all. Everything is like 60fps animation. On the Tab s2 it's like 30fps (just how I feel it is, I dont mean it literally)
I don't think it's lag, it's more data that can't load fast enough.
You're trying to load and move a lot of data and graphics quickly. It looks like it doesn't get preloaded.
This is very noticeable and irritating.

I don't have the S2,but the S1. However of all the browsers I've tried the stock browser handles it best.
It's hardly noticeable on my S1.
Through the play store app it's also hardly noticeable.
Have the Same Problem you experienced. Portrait and landscape Mode
I'm having an issue with chrome on my honor 9 lite.
For some reason chrome and the system web viewer app are very pixelated (looks like 720p with no anti-aliasing). What's weird is that this only happens when the screen resolution is set to FHD+, it actually looks cleaner and clearer when the resolution is set to HD+ (low). Smart resolution is switched off btw.
I've attached two screenshots, one from chrome and the other from Microsoft Edge. Edge is rendered correctly, chrome looks a mess.
Other browsers aren't affected, just chrome and the system web viewer. Has anybody else notice this issue? I've only seen one report about it when searching Google, but that was for the Huawei P Smart (which is basically the same model).
facing the same issue.
Install Chrome beta to fix it, standard Chrome is messed up the fonts look awful i thought i was going blind lol.
I reported the issue in feedback.
Installing chrome beta, and setting it as my default web view from developer options solved the issue for me, even con chrome stable, for some reason.
Also, with the last system update (the one that brings face unlock) chrome stable is always in 720p mode, no matter what’s set as default.
Facing same problem here
Solution
Turn on developer set the smallest width( initially it is 360) to 401 or 411
(Iam using honor 9 lite) . Then launch chrome
Hope it helps.
