Gear Manager - Overall Issues! - Samsung Galaxy Gear

Well, trying to put some order on one of the most important (yet problematic) app for our Samsung Gear: GEAR MANAGER
Until now (30th Dez 2013) Samsung Gear communicates basically with Gear Manager to configure the overall settings, Samsung Gear launcher, sync settings/multimedia or to receive notifications.
Some of the most important threats (IMO) are:
"gear manager update v1.5.121601" http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2586480
"Unable to reply SMS-es through S-voice" http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=48581831
"Gear Manager Uninstalls Feedly" http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=48582488
As of 30th Dez 2013, Samsung Gear MK7 and Gear Manager v1.5.121601
Issues:
1) Gear Manager v1.5.121601 crashes/freezes when people press "Notifications" and then "More Notifications" (ex: to turn ON Whatsapp or other app notifications) (temporary fix: uninstall v1.5.121601 -> find & install Gear Manager_1.5.120903 apk)
2) My Samsung Gear has Null_ 16 ROM. Before Gear Manager v1.5.121601, when I tried to update my firmware through Gear, it said "no updates (as I have the latest MK7, though with Null_), now it says "your Gear has been modified".
3) S-Voice does not work to answer SMS: A) voice recognition is horrible! B) it tries to send the SMS to a complete different number!!!
Example: I live in Germany, I received an SMS from (example) +49 1 777 55 66 77. When I reply using S-VOICE, the reply fails "Unable to send SMS" as the stupid software through S-Voice replies to (example) (it is sent to 49 1 0000 777 55 66 77 --> WRONG Number!!! FIRST it ignored the "+" and SECOND it added "0000" to the number...)
4) Gear Manager uninstalls Feedly, another company´s application, and without my consent! (gReader does the trick, but nevertheless... ridiculous!)
What to improve:
1) S-Voice...voice recognition! It is so bad comparing to my Note 3´s S-Voice, that hurts!!!
2) S-Voice capabilities: first I thought that Gear´s S-Voice was just a channel from Note 3´s S-Voice, so it would be (a little) smarter, and could also do some basic web search, etc.... but it doesn´t!!! And so stupid it is...when I try to know the weather in some city that is not the one I am at (or well known like London, Paris, Madrid), it always says the weather to the city I am at! Even "New York" or "Miami" fails! (at least if I speak in German or Spanish)
3) No basic web search....(original software)
4) No basic keyboard writing (original software)
5) No basic RSS / Feedly / Google Translate (original software)
6) No photo/video sharing capabilities to common ways like E-Mail, MMS, Whatsapp, Viber, Facebook,...
7) No standard (-alone) alarm??? what??? (original software) So...if my Note 3 ran out of battery while asleep, my Gear just won´t sound any alarm, or just do alarms.... No comments.
8) No possibility to turn off the camera sound (original software. Null_ 16 ROM turns this off)
9) Auto-Internet teethering (but with On/Off option)
10) Work on every single (also non-Samsung) Android 4.x or iOS device!!!!
Please be free to add Issues: and What to improve: and, if possible, alternatives/solutions to it that do not mean "hard core" solutions like editing system files and others
Personally I have some questions:
A) with Null_ ROM, is it possible to answer Notifications (SMS/E-Mail/Whatsapp) with keyboard? (I can use the keyboard for other apps, but to the default Gear-Manager-mediated-notifications, despite Null_ ROM, I am still limited to the standard Samsung options)
B) Is there a way to take pictures, and directly send to whatsapp/E-mail? (note that I still want to manage my E-mail/Whatsapp on my phone. I just want to send the pictures and basic answer)
C) Better installable alternative to S-Voice? (with web search, more options, etc)

1) Sucks. Even clean install doesn't work for me
2) Well, that is the case, not really an issue. How can it update a rom it knows nothing about? Just like phones
3) Super annoying
4) GM removes all apps that it installs (or knows about - app store or sideload or 'sub apks'). it then reinstalls when GM is installed (except sideload for obvious reasons). Feedly developers included something in newer versions to make it interact with GM hence it gets uninstalled
---
8) It's a legal thing (same as on phones)
9) I'd rather wifi, and instead of Bluetooth tethering, just access internet using current protocol via the app (similar to google glass)
10) Pebble manages to work fine, no reason this watch needs to use touchwiz
I'd like to hope that next version of watch fixes many things and opens up to other devices. This is first gen after all
Really need a SKD!!! That way we won't need to rely on Samsung to make all the changes that we want - just look at everything you can do on the very simple Pebble
A) You need tablet talk. Have a search for it and sms - plenty of discussion here
B) No - only autotransfer (setting in app on phone) or share to evernote
C) There is a thread here about using autoremote (and I think google now?). Requires a bit of setting up though

Brendo: thanks, I´ll look into it!
About my B) question "Is there a way to take pictures, and directly send to whatsapp/E-mail?", I partially solved that. If you install a mail client on Gear (I installed K9, as it is very light), when you take a picture, you can directly from Gear´s Camera app share to the E-mail. To Whatsapp... only the "old solution": take the picture and with the phone.

Something I have wondered but not being a developer I cant answer, has any of you clever sparks thought de constructing the gear manager and doing a re write? ie like we have roms we have a new watch controller (notice I didnt say gear manager)

Reverse engineer? It's easy enough to view the source code, but there is a hell of a lot. I guess it could be possible

In theory it is possible, *but* Samsung Gear is not a popular model like other smart watches, as it is not iOS/other Android compatible, and it makes to much trouble (perhaps, I do not know).
An re-written Gear Manager would be wonderful: flaws solved, opened Gear to all 4.x Android, etc... a dream come true.

[Q] What will i miss out switching to WP8?

Hi guys, this is probably my first post on my next OS-to-be after using android since 2.2
I've been playing with WP8 for quite sometime now, i love it so much that it's gonna be my next OS to go - Nokia probably.
But today was kinda threating my WP8 dream having come across words of several limitation of WP8 over android.
Below is a list of most important features that i feel are important for me that i find in Android:
1. File Manager / Explorer
2. Sideloading app
3. Root access to do Titanium Backup, Freeze Bloatwares, insert app (or adb push) to root directly
4. Car mode / Car home
5. 3rd party music player with Direct Leveling Control (somethng like PowerAMP)
6. Simple customisation of ringtone, fonts, other UI / notificaton stuffs
7. NFC Task Launchers (programming tasks to a NFC tag like turning off WiFI, on GPS, enter Car Mode, launch navigation software)
+8. Possibility of USB OTG
I know WP8 is a different OS and works differently, but are there any way that my list is still available, if not any similar feature? Or is WP8 giving me even better deals?
I really love WP8 i hope the switch will be a good choice for me to pick. I need some advices for now.
Thanks in advance

File manager/exploere is possible but only if you connect your phone to your PC but no access to system files, Side Loading is only possible if you have a deve account You can sideload apps you download from the store off of your SD card but that's about it for now. Forget about root access, MS has blocked root access methods and one hasn't been found yet.
As far as customisations, on the start screen you can only change the tile size and the tile colors to pre-installed ones and from a black background to a white one (Lame). There is no home or start screen wallpaper you can only use a pic on the lock screen. As far as ringtones you can.
Not sure on the NFC stuff.
Sinister answered some, here are some more for you.
1. File Manager / Explorer To four predesignated folders only.
2. Sideloading app Developer can
3. Root access to do Titanium Backup, Freeze Bloatwares, insert app (or adb push) to root directly No.
4. Car mode / Car home Sort of? See your NFC ? below.
5. 3rd party music player with Direct Leveling Control (somethng like PowerAMP) Let me know if you find one.
6. Simple customisation of ringtone, fonts, other UI / notificaton stuffs Ringtones yes.
7. NFC Task Launchers (programming tasks to a NFC tag like turning off WiFI, on GPS, enter Car Mode, launch navigation software) Yes, here is a link I found on it http://www.wpcentral.com/program-nfc-tags-your-windows-phone-nfc-launchit
+8. Possibility of USB OTG No.
9. No HiD devices via Bluetooth, controllers, gamepads, keyboards.
Since I'm also familiar with android and looking into WP8 for my wife, I'm curious how does google sync work? Does it work as good as on android? Gmail notifications w/o delay? Calendar sync? Thanks!

I use a regular gmail account with exchange and setup the push notifications to actually only check once an hour as battery life seemed to be impacted a bit but as for calendar, email and contacts...all of those sync nearly instantly and work well.
I know that people also use Google Sync and the email setup wizard for Gmail without a problem as well. I have always just used the 'Exchange' setup option with Gmails server etc. TMI?
Not TMI at all, I was curious because of all those articles about Google cutting support for WP, and no one really wrote what's then situation now, they just listed a bunch of protocols that aren't supported anymore.
So everything works seamlessly? I don't want to open a hotmail account and deal with forwarding emails and all that.
Thanks for answering.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Google anounced that they would cut support for new connections using Exchange ActiveSync at the end of January. Devices set up to sync with GMail before then will continue to work like before. In Mid-January that date got pushed back to July. So until July you can setup ActiveSync and keep using it after that.
It is likely that Microsoft will issue an update for WP8 before then enabling CalDAV and CardDAV-support although there are no guarantees. We also don't know wether they will add IMAP-idle to allow for GMail-Push-Mail or if you will be limited to mail checking in set intervals (this is currently already possible as an alternative to Exchange ActiveSync).
We'll have to wait how that plays out but for now nothing has changed yet.

NULL Rom but Mainly Stock Setup Suggestions Thread

So i wanted to discuss installing NULL but not everything in Aroma to get a Stock look and feel but benefits of some NULL advantages.
if this type thread already exist i didnt see it.
my reason for this is although i can read and follow directions the NULL setup to replicate what i like about stock takes a lot of work with widgets etc.. to get clock face and all the stock look and feel i like.
here is a post by mmick over here that i am quoting to show the setup i am liking and asking others to give some input:
mmick said:
I confess that I searched about Xposed Framework and Gravity Box and... I also did not understand fully what they are or what they do! (perhaps I am getting too old )
AFAIK, generally they allow you to change some items/properties from the ROM and installed APKs...without physically changing the ROMs/APKs. (please someone correct me, and please get something more in detail).
Though I did not make use of it on my Gear, as I just want a "middle tunning", so I installed Null_ ROM just with GAPPs and keyboard, everything else stayed (like Samsung´s Launcher, key settings and default "wipe movement" settings).
What did I install to make full use of what I make BUT without making Gear slow:
- K9 Email app (veeeery small and light. It also enables "share to Email" option on default Camera app)
- Opera mini (for what you could search on Gear, it works extremely well and fast. It also compresses internet data, which is excelent as Gear´s BT connection is rather slow, and it also saves some 3G Data)
- Amazon app (imperative to compare prices)
- Idealo app (I live in Germany, fantastic to compare prices. It is also a light app)
- Button Savior for ROOT devices (Sometimes, like in Amazon app, you do not see the "settings" button. With Button savior, you can turn whenever you want "onscreen buttons", like "back" "settings" "home", etc. If you buy the PRO version, is even better!)
- Google Translate (it works extremely well).
- Bluetooth Settings shortcut (this is a free app, it allows you to directly go to BT Settings, and enable BT Internet Teethering. I tried the app "Bluetooth Auto Connect" but it does have too many options and too big for Gear IMHO. This BT shortcut does the trick and it uses only a couple of Kb)
- gReader (with Dark theme: it saves battery on AMOLED devices!)
PS: if you set on each E-mail, RSS, Amazon, etc "Auto-Sync Off", "Notifications Off", "Push off",etc it will save you a lot of battery and will make your Gear faster.
That´s it. In the moment my Gear has Playstore, etc etc and works as fast as before, battery life is so good as the original but with much more functions. Gear WAS dumb, now with Null_´s ROMs it is SMART
With Null_16 I get: 1 full Day playing around too much (vacations day); 2 full Days (normal working day where I use it each hour to do some stuff, talk around 15 min /day through the Gear, Emails, etc); 3 full Days (when I´m busy and I just see the time, and a couple of pictures / Google Translate / check couple e-mails); 4 full Days (when I just check the clock and to see some Notifications). PS: At night (for 8h) I turn the Gear off.

First week with Windows

Hello
And happy new year to everyone!
This is my first week on Lumia 735 after being 6 years with Android.
I like very much it's desktop, but there are some simple things that I thought until now I would figure out but I cannot find a solution....
1. How can I download a PDF from an email and then attach it to another email?
2. Is there a way to have a shortcut on notification bar for data connection?
3. Is there a way to remove Bing and get Google as default engine?
4. Is there a way to tide up settings? I feel that are randomly scattered...
5. Is there a way to open a new tab in internet explorer, but open in background? Cause we are always transferred to the new tab.
Thanks!
I'm on the same phone since about 4-5 days, so I have not yet answers for you, but another question to add:
- why on some apps the keyboard doesn't turn in landscape mode when I flip the phone? I found it working on some apps only, but in Bing search (just an example) it remains in portrait
EDIT: a bit of googling partially answers to 3: I'm a newbie so I don't know if I can link external sites here, but it seems you can change the default search engine in Internet Explorer in the browser settings (so when you type words in the address bar, it uses Google instead of Bing). Regarding the phone search button, maybe the trick is not so easy...
1. did you see download in email message? click on that link to download file to your phone.
2. with latest WP OS 8.10.14219.341 you can add mobile data shortcut in action center
or use Quick Launch app from store
3. settings - applications - internet explorer, select advanced settings and change to google
4. no... latest updated is always at end of list...
5. not exactly... try UC Browser 8.1, maybe you like it better than IE
Download a app named File attacher,it can help you to attach any files into outlook client.
Sent from my AT&T Nokia Lumia 920 using Tapatalk for Windows Phone
1) Download the file to your phone. You can then open it from the email (which will let you choose what PDF viewer to open it with, if you have more than one installed; some of them directly support sharing) or you can then switch to a file manager app (Files, Pocket File Manager, Aerize Explorer, etc.), go to the Downloads directory, and share the file from there. When "sharing" the file, one option will be to use email; this will attach the file to the email. This approach also works for other file types, by the way.
2) As dxdy says, you need to be on a new OS version (you may need to be using the "Preview for Developers" app) to get the ability to add mobile data specifically to the Action Center (swipe-from-top notification area thing) but there are lots of other ways (tons of free apps, for example) to pin a link to it on your Start screen. You can also have both WiFi and Airplane Mode toggles on the Action Center, even in less-than-newest versions.
3) Not unless you're in Russia, I think? You may be able to change the IE default search engine using the method dxdy posted above, but if you want to change the search button behavior, that's trickier. I think in Russia (or possibly just tell your phone you are), if you have the Google app installed, it may run that... haven't tried, though.
4) Settings are, unfortunately, not directly orderable. The default order for Microsoft-provided settings is basically "what MS has found people use most often", thus things like visual and audio customization are at the top, WiFi is on the first page, and stuff like Backup requires scrolling down a bunch. There's also OEM customizations, which are technically just Store apps that are pre-installed and use the Settings hub instead of the normal app list; those are always listed underneath all the Microsoft settings, and (as dxdy says), the one that was most recently installed/updated is at the top of that section ('top of the bottom of the list' if you will).
5) Doesn't seem to be any such way in IE, but there's lots of other browsers. Most of them just wrap the IE rendering engine, so pages will look the same as on IE but the UI can be totally different. This includes changes to tab management. They won't sync with your other devices, at least not by default, though. There's also a beta of Opera for WP8; it still has some bugs but mostly works and has a very different UI from IE. Annoyingly, though, Microsoft doesn't allow any of those apps to be set as the default browser (you can't change the URI association for http:/https: for example).
@axxel84: It depends on whether the app supports landscape mode. That requires work from the developer, since they have to change the layout of everything, so a lot of apps don't support it. If the app doesn't support it, then it will be locked in one orientation no matter how you turn it, keyboard included. Some apps (mostly games) are also locked in landscape mode only, and don't support portrait.
Hi guys, thanks for the help but I am still finding difficult to compose with windows after coming from fully updated Android phones.
- pdf attachments, not possible. You can see that you download files but no where to be seen in order to attach them in another email! What????
- the option to change Bing to Google was in the past, but they don't have it on new phones. And this is the company that wants to increase market share? With these kind of acts I don't think they will last many years...
- I found a way to have a shortcut on desktop that takes me to settings and there to click on for data. But why don't they include this in notification option? How difficult is this?????
- the other frustrating thing I am feeling, is that most other times when resuming an app when I go out and then in, it starts the"resuming" screen and takes 5 seconds to load... For example viber, I can't chat instantly with someone, I have to leave the program on continuously to do this
- no led notification. I should have known earlier by reading reviews, but there is no led notification!!
- no major apps as official pinterest, dropbox, instagram, sms backup to gmail. My biggest disappointment is Dropbox... I am thinking of selling the phone now and going back to Android. Having two small twins, I take continuously videos and photos, and I don't want to think about backup. I found another application but doesn't sync videos automatically. And also the backup app of windows doesn't do automatically the job... If I was windows I would hire people to help these companies develop the "big" apps...
- notification center doesn't always work. for example when a new app is downloaded, nothing comes app on notification. Or in viber you might get 10 messages on notification, if you click one and then in viber you read all, they remain on notification
Nobody seems to have emailed me a PDF recently, but I can download them from the web and they show up in my Downloads folder (on my SD card, since that's where I told Storage Sense to put new downloads). From there, I can see it in Aerize Explorer, select it, Share it, and choose an email account; a new message is created with the file attached.
Some new phones have the option for Google search, but it's not in all regions.
As you have ALREADY been told, the option to toggle data service from the Action Center is available in the latest version. It's also largely un-needed; Data Sense and related settings should give you enough control over your data usage to make it fairly unimportant. Mind you, I agree that it should have been there from the start, but asking rhetorical questions isn't actually helpful.
The "Resuming..." screen can come up for two reasons (or a combo thereof):
1) Badly-coded app that does a bunch of stuff immediately on resume, before it lets you use the app.
2) Your phone ran low on RAM and removed the app from background execution ("tombstoned" it, sort of like hibernating a laptop), so it needs to be restored from the Flash storage and then resumed.
Lots of phones don't have notification LEDs. That's not a WP8 thing, that's a "if this feature is important to you then you ought to buy a phone with that feature" thing. My HTC has a notification LED, my Samsung did not. Both are/were WP8 devices.
Automatic backup of photos and videos is included in the OS, has been included since WP7 actually, but it goes to OneDrive (formerly SkyDrive) instead of Dropbox. Microsoft software uses Microsoft services; this isn't really surprising.
SMS is automatically backed up as well, just not to Google. Why would Microsoft include a feature to back up your messages to a competitor's service?
Lack of official apps is somewhat annoying/disappointing, but you could have easily enough checked that before buying, and the apps will come in time. In the meanwhile, there's usually third-party versions of those apps.
App downloads are fast, and you know when you started them. Why would you need a notification for that? As for the thing with Viber, it's not the OS' fault that the app doesn't report when a message is read. Notifications are really easy to clear though, just swipe them to the right and all notifications for that app will clear (or hit the "clear all" button to get rid of all of them at once).

[APP][5.0+]AndroidAuto carNotifier (Multi-language and Email support)

Beta 1.0 released
I will like to start saying a very big thank you to @bggold who asked me to consider this in the first place
While there isn't any way to use the nice Google Assistant voice, and it's still rough around the edges, this demonstrates how we can use Android Auto in a multi-lingual environment as well as how to read out and reply emails.
The concept is very simple, instead of relaying on Android Auto to read out the notifications I have created a small app which mimics that behaviour, with some extras:
1) It try to do a language detection for each test, and use the appropriate TextToSpeech
2) It allows the user to select which app notification does he/she want's to read
3) If the content is really long (like a lengthy email) the app will prompt the user if it want's to go ahead with the message readout or not
4) If notification supports quick-reply the app will prompt the user for a reply (in the same language as the the original message)
Planning to support a lot of languages but there I will need user input, I have translated the basic strings to around 70 languages using Google translator, but I can tell it's not quite right (I can see with the languages I do speak)
Best part, app won't be affected by 3rd party restriction at all and it won't require root either, however I'm pretty sure Google will not allow it on the PlayStore
Beta version available now on XDA Labs.
App will be payable, however current beta is free so grab a copy while you can
To use the app you will need to enable unknown sources in Android Auto, simply open Android Auto, go to About, tap the "About Android Auto" header 10 times till you become a developer, then from the 3 dotted right menu select developer options and enable "Unknown sources"

Thanks for making this app!
After first start it asked for notification permission and then it was gone to build the list of installed apps/services - endless...
So I've forced close the app after minutes, went to app info/permissions, and enabled unselected permissions for it.
After that the app works now, as it should!
I'll test the functionality today while using AA in my car.

Thanks. It was 3 am )) updating the app now.
This is exactly what I needed. Unfortunately I couldn't get it to work. Using Samsung S9 plus running Oreo. Gave read permission to the app, enabled developer settings on Android Auto, enabled unknown sources, enabled whatsapp and Gmail.
Whatsapp notifications haven't changed and it continues to read the foreign text in English. Gmail notifications don't pop up at all.
Any suggestions?

Not sure if you saw but there is a new release. It fixes this issue. Just remember to reboot after updating.
Unfortunately I have the same problem as @yavuzyay. I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S6 edge with Android 7.0 and Carnotifier Beta v3.
Thanks to @yavuzyay for bugreport and Turkish language input.
I have identified the problem where the app was crashing in case you where using AA on the phone only, and this has been now fixed.
@CeldeSuS - Are you phone only or are you using AA on the car? If phone only, download the new beta 1.4

I'm using AA on the car (Alpine X802D-U head unit). I'll try the new beta anyway and report back.
Awesome. Works perfectly.
V4 work fine with SM960F(android 8.0) & RLink1 !
Great job!
Very good stuff!
I use it with the now playing feature - basically phone picks up music on the radio,.detects the song and artist and throws a notification. This app picks that up and shows it as a notification on the car screen! I have disabled read out. So it stays as a simple notification.
Quick question - haven't been able to try it - if I set zero seconds as the duration, will it leave the notification forever?
Tested but not working as expected. Line is an application which doesn't support Android Auto.
Positive: Yes, Car Notifier shows there is a message on Line.
Negative: Can't do anything, it won't read the message, the notification stays in grey color and nothing happens when I click on the message.
Cheers

You can't click the notification to have it read at this time. If you want them read to you enable the read option.
"Read out notifications" is enabled in the settings, my Honda headunit is hacked and I have root access, so I don't think this is related to that.

I'm sure you have but have you checked all the permissions?
CarNotifier asks only permissions to Microphone and Phone, both are granted.
Wondering now whether it has something to do with the new Android Auto v3.8.584554 where some on Reddit claim, that notification is broken
Cheers

Edit: Maybe the the new AA version interferes with CarNotifier, because AA can show now also message preview
More edit: My friend tested on the Samsung S7 (I have a OnePlus 3T). Also on his mobile nothing happens with Line.
Can't read out and nothing happens in AA when click on it
Is there an app for Speed cams like in your obd2aa app, to have only the speed cam notification?

I am running the new aa and it is working. Get Emil a bug report right after it happens.
The only thing you can do at this time is swip away the notifications. Clicking them will not do anything.
Thanks
After more testing, I do believe the culprit is Line. Gmail works as expected, Facebook also (just for test).
However, Line refuses, which is actually the reason to install the program in the first place.
Probably one of the few programs which won't work.
Great program though.

Hi guys.
I'm finally back in the UK and in front of my PC, I've also managed to tied up quiet a few of my loose ends and I have no big project starting this year. I will dedicated the last 2 weeks of this years to the following:
1) Looking into fixing some of the FC for obd2aa, also try to find a solution for non-standard PIDs
2) Get AA GateWay to Beta/Stable version (most work needs to be done on this app)
3) Fix some issues and FC with HUR (including Waze sound cut off).
4) Get the carNotifier to a stable version.
January and February are again fully booked so I will focus on stability rather then adding new features especially because obd2aa and HUR and fairly mature apps with most of the functions already covered.
For some reason I'm not really getting any notifications from XDA and being a lot on the road I don't visit the site too often lately, therefore I will kindly ask you if you need support, please email me directly to [email protected].

Newbie looking for Samsung4 Smartwatch Apps

I just received a Samsung4 smartwatch and am looking for more apps not available on Google Play! Primarily Social Media apps and Facebook Messenger. LOL. That's where I chat from and those contacts are not in the other message apps - Google Android Messages, Samsung Messages (which is best to use?) I am here to learn how to download the apps listed on this site. I have some IT experience (IT Systems Technician for 16 years/IT Systems Analyst 2 years) but haven't tinkered with a smartwatch. I did brick a phone back in the day so I'm a little scared to mess with my brand-new watch! I did install the Moviebox APK (Kpanda?) on my smartphone, but it didn't require any other software. I already opened Developer Tools - ADB - Debug over WIFI (the IP starts with 10) From what I understand, I have to make changes in Device Manager for the phone, install APK software programs to my laptop (are these free or do I have to pay for it?), download the apps I want from your catalogue and install to the watch? I will watch the videos and follow along! And there is no risk of damaging my watch, like maybe I select something wrong and wipe it out or brick it?
Unfortunately, I don't have a correct IP address - Debug over WIFI shows 10.0.0.194, therefore, I cannot proceed with downloading APKs from Uptodown from either Bugjaeger or Easy Fire Tools. I am connected to Wi-Fi and not getting a 192. IP. There is no notification request sent to a device. When I click continue it says "Authorization Failed". Is there another setting I need to change?
Update: I figured it out. My old internet provider used to begin with 192 but this one starts with 10. Then when I click on the file that I want to install I have to click a prompt on the watch to allow it. All good!
Welcome to the XDA forums! Looks like you found the Samsung Galaxy watch 4 section!
Cheers
