Hi guys, I'm on 4.3 .290 central europe. Bootloader unlock allowed: yes. I want to unlock bootloader and flash a rom because i hate the way the nav bar takes up so much of our screen. There's alot of Do's and Don'ts and was wondering can some one point me in the right direction as i'm confused. I don't care about warranty i just want full screen (transparent nav and status bar). Thanks

Hello,
I wanted to ask how can i check if i have locked or unlocked bootloader?
I found one tutorial for XPEIRA Z SO-02E (ver 1.0.1) and I dont know if its european version of the phone or its universal rooting tutorial for locked and ulocked boodloader, so don't know what to do?
Can CWM be installed without unlocking bootloader (i dont want to lose bravia)?
Will bootloader stay after software update, because i got stock 10.1.A.1.350 and my carrier still isnt on update list and i dont have any updates yet?
Is there a mod that changes softkeys and upper notif bar to black (right there where clock and notif icons are)?
Final question, can modifications regarding UI and Audio (for example) be applied without unlocking bootloader?
Thank you

bootloader unlock
how do I unlock the bootloader if bootloader unlock allowed says NO?
I had already rooted my z1 when on 4.2.2... But now the 4.3 updates removed the root... Unlocking bootloader ia only option as far as I know.. So I want to ask is..
A) if I unlock bootloader will I loose xreality engine? If yes how do I save that from not happening..
B) is there a "stable" way to install CWM recovery amd not unlock bootloader..? Is there is.. Will mybstock features be affected such as loss of xreality n DRM keys?
C) is there a way to unlock bootloader without looaing DRM keys? If so again will I loose the z1 features?
Please help..

A) if you unlock bootloader you WILL loose xreality. To get it back restore backed up TA partition. You can't have unlocked bootloader and xreality at the same time. Here is a video on how to get full root on 4.3: http://youtu.be/1aq9YTlfCgc
B) Yes you can install the recovery on any rooted Xperia Z1. You don't need an unlocked bootloader to be rooted.
Here are some more explanations if you are confused http://youtu.be/l78p_2ShPS0
C) You will always loose DRM keys when unlocking but you can back them up before unlocking to restore them later
Out there are 2 ways only how to root your Z1, both are for Locked Bootlader. 1 best way is here step by step, page 2, Post #16 http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...2588331&page=2 or NUT method here http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2572988
..and what @shem2409 said it's all right.
Hi,
Guys I need your help to understand this whole root thing and etc.
I do have Xperia SP software version 12.1.A.1.201.
I would like to root it. But to do it I need to unlock bootloader. - Fine, can do it as my status is YES.
but I don not want to loose DRM keys.
If i understand correctly first i have to unlock bootloader and then lock it again (to keep warranty) but first I need to root my phone to keep DRM keys.
But on my software i can't first root it and then proceed with bootloader.
Is there any method to first root the device, then unlock bootloader and keep DRM keys?
Sorry if this sounds stupid but I don't know where to start with it.
Thanks

Downgrade to 4.1.2, root that FW with doomlord's method, install recovery and flash a prerooted rom. You don't need unlocked bootloader for this

Ok i bought this z3 compact today and really want to remove all the bloatware which comes pre installed however my rooting status is the following Bootloader unlock allowed: No
What can i do to root my phone, i searched around a bit and all i can find are the tutorials to do this with the Bootloader unlock allowed: Yes
i dont really care about the DRM camera problem as i use the camera very little and have no problems with unlocking the bootloader but i cant seem to find info on how to do this with the " Bootloader unlock allowed: No" status .
any help is greatly appreciated.
Z3 Compact Model: D5803
At the moment there is currently no root solution for locked bootloaders unfortunately, a bounty thread has been created here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/general/bounty-root-unlocking-bootloader-method-t2940539
Where did you buy the phone? Is it possible to return for a refund and find a retailer that sells unlockable models?
On the other hand, bloatware can be removed via ADB on unrooted devices. Thread in Z3C android development section
O2 store, oh well happy enough to remove the bloat ware as mentioned above.
Thanks for the swift reply guys really apreciate it.
Stay classy.
I'm not really sure, but maybe you can do that by installing an other stock Romney using flashtool or the pc companion or Emma if you have an operator customized phone, that maybe why it is locked
Hello, I want to root my new Xperia Z3 Compact just to uninstall the carrier's bloatware. It came with 23.1.A.1.28 (i exchanged it for a new galaxy alpha, it was bought at the beginning of June ).
Rooting status says : Bootloader unlock allowed : No.
I don't even want to try to unlock it. Is it possible to downgrade the firmware with locked bootloader?
Will i lose anything? If possible, I'd really like to have a complete guide on both downgrading, rooting and upgrading back.
Thanks.
Hm, that's weird, I've checked "Search" and it's working just fine. Use search or check sticky next time.

sorry and thank you, i did actually try searching for it but i was overwhelmed by what came up and lot's of it lead to guides containing unlocking the bootloader and i'm not really confident tinkering with android much
U can root with downgrade method. But thats all since u cannot unlock ur bootloader. If u follow the posted guide u should get it. Have done it with the guide without unlocking
great, I was kind of confused, I thought i need to unlock the bootloader to flash anything, including the downgrade
