i lock and relock my bootloader a lot of times for personal reasons , but i hate it that every time i want to unlock my bootlaoder , every thing i have get wiped ,
if i backup my ta partition when i have unlock boot loader , will it work if i restore it when i have locked bootloader , will i get unlocked bootloader with no problems ?
Yes, that works. I do it myself a lot - any firmware. Just have to remember to be on stock based ROM and pure Sony kernel when restoring TA to re-lock bootloader.
Restoring backup of TA made on unlocked bootloader doesn't wipe data either:thumbup:

Hi guys,
I loaded my brand new xperia sp with root and cwm on a locked bootloader but now i want to try out CM but from what i understand is that you need an unlocked bootloader, so my question is if i backup my TA partition and unlock my bootloader, then flash cm with it's kernel and would it be possible to reflash the TA partition and relock the bootloader while on CM?
thanks,

No
You can only restore your TA partition and relock the bootloader on the original Sony kernel, if you try to do otherwise you may hard brick your phone.

That.. But you could figure this out by reading the tutorial of DoomLord
All the steps for unlocking and relocking the bootloader are described there
Hi guys,
I'm kinda desperate right now. I am using 4.3 with 12.1.A.0.266 firmware.
My aim is to install CWM. For this I need an unlocked Bootloader and Root.
But all tutorials I could find are kinda contradicting themselves.
To root I need UB.
To unlock Bootloader in need to Backup TA partition.
And to backup TA partition I need root.
The tools from doomlord all require the old firmware, but silly me has already updated.
Is there any way to unlock Bootloader without root for backuping TA partition OR root with locked bootloader?
Any help is appreciated
Im afraid there isnt any root method for locked bootloader, so You must flash 4.1 using flashtool, root 4.1, backup TA, flash 4.3, unlock BL, root 4.3 and relock BL by restoring TA. The whole process just sounds hard and its complicated but follow those steps and itll be fine
Cheers

When updating to 4.3 I lose root, dont I? So there must be a way to unlock BL with no root? I think then i would lose my Drm keys, thats why i backuped them on 4.1, didn't I? And i surely can use the backup of TA i made in 4.1 for version 4.3?
Thank you for your help already!
Same, Bro

i am afraid you cant get ur DRM keys back as you didn't took a TA backup before unlocking bootloader.. :
My Xperia Z1 has an unlocked bootloader and the TA partition was backed up prior to the unlock. I'm now looking to sell the phone and want to restore the TA and relock the bootloader. I've flashed the phone with build number 14.2.A.1.136 and the stock rom isn't rooted. How can I root the phone and thereby restore the TA backup/relock the bootloader?
I would install recovery, then flash SuperSu update, Restore TA and lock BL This may will leave you with a non booting Z1, I would then reflash the FTF
I have never done this (and only have the ZU) so it is untested. If there is a better way please say so.
Hello!
I currently backed up my TA Partition and DRM Keys using Backup_TA.bat, I now have an Unlocked Bootloader and also am running on a custom kernel ( FW .232 Lollipop ), my question is if I use the restore function on the Backup_TA.bat will that re-lock my bootloader?
Thanks alot!

Yes it will relock BUT
You need to be on an official firmware and rooted. And you must have the stock kernel. Then only you can restore. If your restore TA, it relocks bootloader. And custom kernels don't work on locked bootloader so you will end up in a bootloop if you are not using the stock kernel

Btw, do you another way of relocking the bootloader besides using Flashtool?
i try using restore in backup_TA but my bootloader its still unlocked
im on stock rom and kernel + root, in flashtool i dont have option to relock :/
Restoring TA is supposed to relock bootloader automatically aa far as I know :/
Dear Community,
I recently decided to unlock my bootloader and so I backed up my TA partiton/DRM Keys and went ahead. Today, I reflashed stock marshmallow to get rid of my custom ROM, and I re-rooted so that I could restore my TA partition. I restored my TA partition via the Back-up TA v9.11 tool, that completed successfully, but I'm unsure whether my bootloader has now been locked, or if it is still locked. Does restoring the TA partition automatically re-lock the bootloader or is an additional step required?
My aim for the whole process was to lock my bootloader and flash the Concept software?
P.S. In my device config settings it now says 'Bootloader Unlock allowed: yes'.
Thanks in advance.
