My "other" part is very large too. It's because lots of files are seen as "other", like rom zips, nandroids, data backups, way more!
To see what exactly is taking all your storage space I recommend an app called Disk Usage

Hello everyone,
First I would like to thank all the developers who continuously work on the AHD. You guys rock.
I have rooted, unlocked and flashed KitKat to my phone but I notice that my phone was running out of internal memory. I installed DiskUsage from the play store and found out that the actual "system" files were under the 5gb of "user data" instead of the 3gb of "system data".

Isn't the system data suppose to be on the other 3 of 8 GB partition or did I do something wrong?

I don't think so.
Hello guys and devs. Anybody can help me how to restore Internal Storage back to its normal size? The Phone Storage is 16GB, but the Internal Storage is 3.92GB total.

I resolved this case. Finally after several days looking ways how to revert back my internal storage back to normal, I'm glad I made it.
p7 storage issue
How did you do it, restoring internal memory back to 16gb
How?
How? x.x
Pleaaase , How did you do it ? I have the same problem with my huawei p7 android 5.1.1 . I searched a lot in google . It just take you a minute man
Hi xda,
My friend has a P9, 32gb. However, apps like Disk Manager only show 25,1 gb available. 16 of which is taken by the system. This leaves 9 out of the 32gb for her to use. Is this normal? Is there something to do about it?
That definitely is not normal.
My phone currently has 18.21 GB of free space. And this is after I installed some apps and games.
A clean phone should have more than 20 GB of free space available to user.
Have you tried factory-reset her phone?
No, I'll tell her to try that, thanks. Here is an image that shows how little space she has

Guys, android is something new for me (last one was symbian...) - I just bought refurbished s6 active and for some reason it shows only 8gb of available space (where 7,5 is already taken by system). Any idea how to "unlock" remaining 24gb ? it supposed to be 32gb ...
Appologize if this is a trivial problem but I cant find the solutions.
Any help will be highly appreciated.
Many THanks
Leon

It's a good thing when your phone uses most of your ram and caches programs in background. It's a waste of memory if you leave it all free and takes more power and resources to reload. I have 8gb version, running latest beta MIUI global, with Sphinx Kernel v1.7 and have less than 2gb free. Almost perfect, and shows cached also in screenshot
