It's a good thing when your phone uses most of your ram and caches programs in background. It's a waste of memory if you leave it all free and takes more power and resources to reload. I have 8gb version, running latest beta MIUI global, with Sphinx Kernel v1.7 and have less than 2gb free. Almost perfect, and shows cached also in screenshot

Hi i have a question about services memory consumption.
When I reboot phone services takes about 100Mb of ram. But as days passes that number keeps growing. sometimes it goes to 200Mb.
And I am not talking about listed services, I have no problems with those my question is regarding some not listed services.
I tried searching forums but I anc't find any info about this.
Also this happens with stock and other roms, and even with different combination of kernels.

Memory Management in Samung ROMs suck.
Is there any way to fix this? Or at least reduce the effect?
Excuse me, how to prevent applications from being killed?
I had tried the way from this article, but didn't work.

I only want "Record my call" to be alive all the time.
I think swap, zram and compcache are good ways to improve 512MB ram, but they are not good response when opening application.

If kernl has swap free notify functionality then it will make phone less laggy with CompCache(ramzswap). If you are using stock ROM then zram will be significant slower compare to compcache.
usually you dont need swap.

My "other" part is very large too. It's because lots of files are seen as "other", like rom zips, nandroids, data backups, way more!
To see what exactly is taking all your storage space I recommend an app called Disk Usage

GSam Battery
FIll RAM memory (used this incase it was a RAM problem?):
I think its also happened on Facebook but I cant remember
In the cases of GSam and Amazon its when I back onto the home page and those weird artifacts appear, but for Fill RAM memory its when I run the application, if I try and fill all the RAM the free RAM goes under 100MB and crashes.
I feel like this has started since that update for the 2015 moto g came along (the updated 5.0.2 one) a few weeks ago.
Please help?
Hi xda,
My friend has a P9, 32gb. However, apps like Disk Manager only show 25,1 gb available. 16 of which is taken by the system. This leaves 9 out of the 32gb for her to use. Is this normal? Is there something to do about it?
That definitely is not normal.
My phone currently has 18.21 GB of free space. And this is after I installed some apps and games.
A clean phone should have more than 20 GB of free space available to user.
Have you tried factory-reset her phone?
No, I'll tell her to try that, thanks. Here is an image that shows how little space she has
