Weird lockscreen issue - Xperia SP Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've had my Xperia SP for more than a month and I've had any problems with it up until yesterday(December 31st). I was coming home from the gym and I turned on my phone and notice something weird on the lockscreen - see attacthed image.
I have no idea where that came from or whats causing it. I tried rebooting my phone and disabling/re-enable the lock screen, but it still won't go away. Has anyone had an issue like this before? It's really weird.
Thanks

Ah! Thanks for the help. I never had this happen before so I was very clueless about it.

That's definitely a hardware issue. Go to a t-mobile store (or Rogers, if you have a rogers dream) and hopefully they will replacement.

It's always a good idea to be safe. Go to the "informative links" thread in development to find out how to unroot. All you need to do is flash the RC29 NBH from the SPL AFAIK.
alright thanks

[Q] Applications are looping at their startup and screen flicker now.

Hi all,
All of the sudden, a few of my apps(not all) started looping, especially at their startup.. really bizarre.. Like Angry Birds...it lets me finish a turn then restarts as if i had never played that turn...
Also the screen flickers just a little when going back to the home screen. Never did it before. Like coming out of using an alarm, going back to home screen it flickers at the bottom and top of screen, but not with coming back from home app drawer or camera.. Just some apps again.
Now i did drop it about a week ago roughly 3 feet on hard floor(tile) but it is wearing a protective shell(from holster combo) and seems okay otherwise...
No other symptoms..I am not rooted(Because of that qe 0/0-Is there a hack for that?),Im using APEX launcher.... Thank u in advance.. I did search for this a few times but no results..
I did a recovery,, clear cache, twice. Then twice a factory reset so i am starting fresh and hope that works.. BUT, I would like to know what caused those problems so I can learn..

Probably no one else has had this issue. Is it still doing it after the factory reset? I wonder if there is a some sort of circuit or something causing like a little power surge from the battery.

Hi....
The only thing that helped me was to do a factory reset... Thank you for replying!..
Actually it seems that this issue was due to the verizon microsim, I remove it and my phone works verry well now.

touch problems, starts zooming instead of scrolling

It doesn't matter if I have stockrom or custom (as we speak iHackers stockrom 1.1) the touch drives me crazy.. For an example when I surf on the Web and want to scroll down it works time to time then suddenly when I press my finger on screen it locks on that spot and start zooming page instead.
Exact same problem with the Facebook app.. Some setting? Would really like to disable it. If it's possible.

There's already a thread dedicated to the touch issues if you search a bit. In my opinion it's a hardware issue. I think it has something to do with a short somewhere between the case and screen.
Look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=47791462
There is no need for forum members to start a new thread about the same issue every day. You could have posted your question in any of these 4 threads that discuss the exact same issue.

And to answer your question, it isn't a setting and it isn't related to any specific apps. It's a widspread issue that affects a lot of Z1's and while there are many suspicions, there isn't any confirmation whether it's a hardware or software problem. A Sony rep called Rickard has posted about a fix that is coming in the next software update here but it remains to be seen if that fix actually works.
Right now the best advice we can give you is to take your Z1 to the place you purchased it from and ask them to get it repaired or replace it with a new one under warranty.

Welocome aboard with the Touch Screen Issues. (just kidding, I know its not happy time)
BTW, return your phone to the Store where you bought it to repair or replace via warranty. It's 100% faulty device.

I didn't. Do you have the link? I think they are aware now of this problem and they try to fix it, I hope so, but for the solution we still waiting.
Mine did the same thing, I tried rebooting it and the problem went away for a day or so, so now I use an auto reboot to reboot every morning at 3am. Done this for three weeks now and the problem has vanished.

It's the same. Touch screen do not recognize the movement of the finger but it do like you will just touch it one time, touch screen problem. Had problem even on scrolling pages.

correct, also when long pressing you can see that the screen fails to recognize the touch after a few seconds. really annoying when playing games.
BTW @eclyptos did you got your phone back?

Had this before. Turning off the screen(you can also try wiping the screen with cloth) solves my problem.

Yeah but is this a bug on the software? On the device itself? Or am I doing something wrong like...I know it gets fixed by turning the screen off and on. But still...

No.
Did you get that issue only when connected to the charger or no matter the situation?

As someone else asked, do you get this issue when connected to a charger? Failing/cheap USB cables can cause this. If it is happening all the time, the device may be damaged somewhere. The reason why it stops each time the screen is turned off/on is because the touch "recalibrates" each time the screen is turned off on most if not all Android smartphones. You can attempt to wipe the screen, put CAREFUL pressure on it, etc and it may help temporarily.

Screen/GPU problem on my Rog 3 - Need advice

Hi guys,
I just bought an Asus Rog 3 in "used like new condition" and I am experiencing glitches on my screen. Here is a screen recording of a site I experienced this at its worst:
This also happens if I am on a video call and at the same time I am browsing on google.com
I've also experienced this (in a minor way) while playing Call of Duty. Is it a minor glitch? Can it be corrected via a software update or is this a hardware problem? Is it a settings issue? Do I need to send the phone back?
Any help is appreciated.
Is the question really serious?

Okay, to be honest this don't look like a software issue.
Or something that can be fixed with an update. It looks like an hardware failure.

If it were hardware failure then the screen recorder would not pick it up. not ruling hardware out completely but it is a software problem
If a clean flash using the unbrick firmware does not correct the problem definitely send it back
I factory reset it and I can't seem to find the glitch again. I video called for 20 minutes and browsed at the same time and nothing happened. I just hope nothing comes up in the future because of this.
Shouldnt, if it hasnt happened since the factory reset you should be in the clear.... software issue like I said.
