Hi all,
All of the sudden, a few of my apps(not all) started looping, especially at their startup.. really bizarre.. Like Angry Birds...it lets me finish a turn then restarts as if i had never played that turn...
Also the screen flickers just a little when going back to the home screen. Never did it before. Like coming out of using an alarm, going back to home screen it flickers at the bottom and top of screen, but not with coming back from home app drawer or camera.. Just some apps again.
Now i did drop it about a week ago roughly 3 feet on hard floor(tile) but it is wearing a protective shell(from holster combo) and seems okay otherwise...
No other symptoms..I am not rooted(Because of that qe 0/0-Is there a hack for that?),Im using APEX launcher.... Thank u in advance.. I did search for this a few times but no results..
I did a recovery,, clear cache, twice. Then twice a factory reset so i am starting fresh and hope that works.. BUT, I would like to know what caused those problems so I can learn..
Rich
hey richsapf, no one cares about your dumb apps looping around....LOL,,,,

Probably no one else has had this issue. Is it still doing it after the factory reset? I wonder if there is a some sort of circuit or something causing like a little power surge from the battery.

Hi....
The only thing that helped me was to do a factory reset... Thank you for replying!..
Actually it seems that this issue was due to the verizon microsim, I remove it and my phone works verry well now.

I recieved my tilt from Amazon roughly aweek ago. Everything was going fine up until not to long ago. The screen stopped registering any screen taps from the stylus or my finger while everything else worked just fine. I reset the unit a few times hoping to resolve the issue. Nothing. THEN I made the big mistake of hard resetting the unit. Now i get to the calibration screen and no further. Anyone got any ideas? Any idea where I can take this to get looked at? i was contemplating sending it to Amazon as defective but ive already flashed the HTC Rom to it shortly after recieving it. Am I completely screwed? Help!!

you could try reflashing the original ROM
Yeah, I tried that shortly after making my original post. Still nothing. I'm curious if the cable for the digitizer came loose somehow (no idea how though) or if it is an actual hard ware issue.
I thought something was wierd when it was working though. When I used the stylus the taps were very inaccurate recently. More so towards the upper hight hand corner of the screen. Calibrated it a few times hoping to correct it but it was always slightly off still. Then it just stopped working all together.I thought it had something to do with my screen protector but after removal was still a no go.
Luckily I am still able to make phone calls thanks to the slide out keyboard. Not sure if it rings or anything when I recieve one though. Still stuck at the calibration screen Any other ideas?
What size star key is needed to disassemble the tilt/tytn II? I may try taking a look inside to see whats up.

If you're stuck at the calibration screen after a hard reset, how are you able to receive calls? Surely the reset hasn't completed?!?
Also, if you have reflashed to the original ROM, and thats now stuck also, then it has least got the correct ROM image on the device, thus allowing you to return it for a replacement.
Still a little confused about how you're able to use it at all though...
i honestly though it wierd myself. after flashing back to the original rom. at the calibration screen if i slide out the keyboard, press the talk button , close then reopen the keyboard, it lets me dial out using the number keys on the keyboard.
I can actually make out the home page behind the calibration screen as the screen reorientates itself.
edited Well I've no idea what just happened but the screen just stared working again out of the blue. My dog jumped on the bed n stepped on it ant the cursor moved. Very weird. Damn I'm lucky. lol Thanks for the input guys. Lets just hope it doesn't happen again XD

I agree, sounds like a loose connection somewhere
Could be grit between the screen and frame
One of my friends had an XDA Orbit and he had this problem. It turned out it was a crumb or piece of grit wedged between the frame of the phone and the screen causing the screen to be permanently pressed at that point. He used some fine implement (maybe a pin - can't remember) to dig it out. If this was the problem with your phone that may explain why it suddenly started working viz the bit of grit became dislodged by itself.
Cheers,
Ashley

Hi all,
My Vario 3 was in my pocket and the keylock wasn't on so buttons where being pressed at random.
Looking at the screen there is now a permanent white column to the left. It doesn't matter what program I display, it's always there, I've rebooted the device and the thing won't go away. (see attached photo)
Any ideas what may be causing this?
Thanks in advance.

Have you tried hard reset?
same thing happened to my Hermes, went away after a hard reset.
Thanks for the replies,
By hard reset I'm guessing you mean to remove the battery, wait a while, then put battery back and boot up?
I did that a few times and it's still there...
Any other ideas?
PS. I've attached another image showing the white column against the WM6 bootsplash screen

No, hard reset is something different. Check my signature to see what a soft reset and hard reset are and how to perform them.
Just performed a hard reset and it's STILL there!
hard reset means that you will lose all your data...
are you sure you did that?
if you did that and the screen is still like that, then maybe your screen has become faulty, which means you will have to change to a new screen if that white bar really bothers you that much.
I think it costs around £70 to £80 for a new screen.
If you have insurance with your service provider they might just give you a new phone.
Yep, Hard Reset wiped all my data clean off.
Yikes, so it could be a column of dead pixels!
try going into bootloader mode. if it is still there, then maybe your screen is to blame.
What about trying to realign the screen?
@Elisha
Yep. Still there on bootloader screen
@Mikulec
How do you realign the screen?
if it is hardware related, you will need to get a new screen. you can get it here: http://cnn.cn/shop/tytn-iitilt-screen-p-2032.html
or from fleabay: http://cgi.ebay.ca/Full-Original-LC...ryZ20336QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Thanks for the links
@Mikulec
Thanks, I assumed you meant you could somehow move the screens x-axis, I've tried calibrating the stylus but to no avail
Looks like it is hardware related then.
you could try a new ROM but if bootloader screen looks like that too, i doubt the new rom will help any.
Oh well, I'll make do for now and then maybe look into upgrading to a new handset in the not too distant future.
btw, What's the next in line to the Kaiser? Raphael?

Thats a good question, some say yes and some say no, the Raphael has less hardware buttons and not ahve tilted screen. So make your decision.
Maybe u can wait a little, nvidias chips look awsome, look at nvidia tegra.
Mikulec,
Wow! That looks great! No tilt, but hey with those specs I could plug it into a hdmi monitor and forget about the tiny screen altogether! I'm sold!
Thanks to all that have helped diagnose the problem with my Kaiser!

Since a week or so I've had some minor problems with my Diamond.
First after a couple of hours with no use, I saw the led blinking (hey, a new text messag, let's have a look) and the phone wouldn't wake up.
Even pressing the power button for a long time didn't make a difference, I resorted to taking out the battery and restarting it that way.
Everything was back to normal after turning it back on so I didn't really worry about it.
Until this weekend, I tried to wake it up from standby and the screen looked euhm... rather strange
I made a picture of it (please have a look at the attachment). In this state it didn't respond to any button, not even a long press of the power button.
While I was putting back my camera this screen disappeared and the normal touchflo was back, but still the device didn't respond to anything.
So again I resorted to removing the battery and everything has been fine eversince...
But now I'm a bit worried... Anyone have any idea what might be causing this? I must say it's been quite warm in my house the last week (about 27C) so I can imagine that temperature could have an effect...
Thanks for any suggestions.
Oh, I almost forgot..
It's a stock Dutch Diamond.
The latest ROM (2.03.404.3 NLD)
Radio 2.09.25.23
Protocol 52.51.25.26H

My first thought was: Oeh! Capture it!!
But I couldn't start the screencap program because well... the screen didn't really work
I have seen too this strange screen in my Diamond a couple of times, but I couldn't tell the reason. I was forced to reset the device as well.
I'm curious about the reason, any ideas?

Has your Diamond been functioning normally after that? Or has it developed more problems (and has perhaps been repaired)?
I'm a bit worried that this is the beginning of major problems...
Hi There,
Well my last TyTn II problem was solved, by a reboot. but sadly its doing other strange things.
Yesterday, as i was using it as i always do, the phone powered off just before i sent a text message. i turned it back on and everything seemed fine. A few hours later i went to use it and the touch screen was unresponsive. Turning the phone off, taking the battery out for a minute or two, and then turning it back on seemed to fix it. Ive also hard reset it and formatted the memory. The touch screen has been working on and off and now it has stopped responding again.
Also, something which has just started happening in the last hour. The Phone when i slide it, has a brief period where the phones screen turns off completely, no backlight or colour on the screen. This occours just after the screen slides past the spacebar and turns back on past the second line of letters (ASDF etc) on the keyboard the directional pad buttons stay lit the entire time.
Has anyone had similar problems? the phone is about 15 months old now, and i really dont want to have to send it to HTC or my mobile carrier.
And if it makes any difference, its the Stock 6.1 ROM from the HTC site for Optus Australia. Not unlocked or hacked in any way.
Thankyou very much for any help you can give me

Im sorry if i waffled on a little... but i said that.
Something strange that Ive noticed. the touch screen does work every now and again, until i slide it. Im not sure what triggers that, but it does it sometimes when i leave it be and come back to it, and others it doesn't.

Oooops, missed that part in your original post.
Well the problem has seemed to get worse now, with the notification lights displaying incorrectly, and the center d-pad button not responding. So ive contacted my Service provider for a warranty repair
good thing i have extended warranty 15 months it has been, maybe its time for an upgrade...
It's probably the ribbon cable that connects the two halves of the phone -- either broken or unseated.
I have a brand new Nook, with CM7.2 installed on the EMMC. This is my second Nook I gave my old one to my mom. Never had a problem like this with the old one. The problem with this one is when it sleeps and I turn it back on, quite often my touch screen won't function. The tablet seems to be working fine otherwise, but I can touch the screen all I want and it will do nothing. Can't even shut off the tablet by holding POWER for a few seconds because I can't click "Shut Down" on that menu. So i have to do a hard reboot. Every time. It's very annoying. Any help from anywhere would be greatly appreciated!
Do you actually see the screen and it won't work or is it just black? If it is just black it sounds like you might be dealing with the "sleep of death" issue.
If you can see the screen but it is just frozen to touch you may want to try a screen calibration app and see if it fixes the issue. Also try cleaning the screen really well.

I don't know if this is the problem, but the new nooks have a new touch screen. In CM9 they had to update the drivers. I don't know if the devs did that on CM7. I have heard of no other complaints from CM7 users though. Don't know of a solution.

I can see it fine just can't do anything. Could you recommend a good Screen Calibration app? Also the device is 2 days old so I think it's not dirty and the screen works fine until it's waking up from sleep.
You can try this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.assid.android.nookrecalibrate&hl=en. Unfortunately it sounds like you may just have a hardware issue. Did you have a chance to use it stock?

No just nuked that locked down OS the second I got it out of the box.
You might want to go back to stock and return the device if it isn't working. I don't usually recommend that since most issues are user created but it sounds like it might be a legitimately defective device in this case.

I agree, sounds like a hardware problem to me. You might try installing CM7 on SD first to see if you have the same issue.
Ok, update: I fixed it. The only thing I did was put on JuiceDefender Ultimate. I set it to turn off my Wifi when sleeping to avoid Sleep Of Death®. I did not see then(and do not see now)how that could have solved my touch-recognition problem. But it seems that it has. Before, this was a constant problem. Nearly anytime I woke up the Nook. Hasn't happened now since yesterday. So perhaps this whole issue was somehow Sleep Of Death® related... I don't know if that's even possible. I will leave that to you smart guys to figure out. But my problem does seem resolved now.
