4G LTE Fix
Wait for 3G to be connected. Airplane mode on for 1 minute then airplane mode off if you cannot connect.
Go to your settings > more (under wireless and networks) > mobile networks > network mode.
Under the network mode option select the first option "CMDA/EVDO/LTE/GSM/WCMA"
Go to "Voice Dialer" and say "Open APNs"
A small dialog will appear. Hit "Open APNs" and then select the option "Sprint LTE internet"
You should see your bars get the "LTE" text over them.

This rom looks loaded. Downloading now.

Thanks for bringing this over!

AFH mirror was broken, but is now fixed. Thanks to nullr1 for the tip.

Just booted up from a clean install. Having strange data drops. Connects then disconnects, 90/10 searching for service. I opened data from the quick menu and noticed 2 data settings to choose from. One caused an fc the other let me in, the changes apply however the data is the same with a failure rate.
Changed to CDMA+LTE/EVDO is keeping it stable

Solid data here but no LTE. I didn't look at the default option for network mode but it originally just showed the signal bars with no logo but there was data. Speedtest speeds where inline with 3g speeds. Now that I picked CDMA/EvDo it shows the 3G but still can't get LTE to work. I set CDMA sub to NV which is what worked on CM before.

I'm not in an lte area to test it yet, but Damn I'll take 4.3 to have these crazy options any day. Thanks again Nathan!

Alright guys, LTE instructions.
Let me know if this works, it did for me.
I will also add this into the op once it is confirmed working for others.

That worked. On a reboots LTE stops working but a quick toggle of airplane mode fixes that. My only problem now is that the phone won't connect to my computer so I can transfer files. Flashed back to CM to verify it wasn't my phone. Does anyone else have this problem? OTG works so I'm using a flash drive now. I'm really liking the features otherwise. The keyboard is really well done too those bold letters on the stock one where driving me crazy.

Might have to check this out.

I'll be keeping my eyes closely on this thread, how's the WiFi upload speed? It doesn't work on any Sense builds from 4.3 on

KNOWN ISSUES (as of 2012-01-12 build):
GSM users have reported phone still FCs quite a bit. I have a solution for this but it's a work in progress and takes a long time to do (porting Motorola World Phone code to ICS from Gingerbread). I am sorry for the hassle, but usually a wipe cache/dalvik cache will reset your connection.
Mute button on calls doesn't work
Camera doesn't work
Codecs which reference the /dev/ion driver don't work (including audio only for Netflix)
Backlighting for keyboard and capacitive keys only works with "Auto Brightness" set: see here for custom settings http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22637417&postcount=957
[NEEDS TESTING]Leaving Bluetooth on but not paired causes all audio to stop working on the phone. If you turn off Bluetooth then audio comes back.
[NEEDS TESTING]Bluetooth in general needs an overhaul. It does work to make phone calls, but that's about it.

HANDY WORK AROUNDS:
For users experiencing high battery drain: goto "Settings" -> "Sounds" and uncheck "Touch sounds" and "Screen lock sound".
For GSM/WCDMA users who have lost 3G: enter *#*#4636#*#* into the dialer. Then goto "Phone Information". Near the bottom of that screen there's a drop down of network preference. For GSM-ONLY use GSM (PRL). Exit that screen and reboot the phone. Wipe cache/dalvik cache if you still don't get 3G back or have many phone FCs.
For GSM/WCDMA users who seem to boot up into an phone FC loop. Try removing "GlobalNWSwitch.apk" from /system/app folder. Is probably only useful for DualRadio models.
For a Gallery replacement use "QuickPic" from the market

Hows the camera progress going?
P.S
Great job on the rom, loving it.
Few days ago, I completely stripped out the dev/ion references from the camera code and was starting to work through a rewrite using our version of the memory tiler built into the kernel (read as TI memmgr1.0) Basically, that caused a little instability in the system which you can see in Alpha #4. Also, it hung the media_audio service out on the boot up which is why it's taking so long to boot currently.
Today, I reverted all of those changes, and instead built a ion_driver kernel module. The /dev/ion device is the new ICS interface for Android to work with the memory tiler at the kernel level. The module included an update to the tiler / dmm driver source as well (i named them tiler2 and tiler2_dmm) and all of the ion driver calls are directed to tiler2 instead of the original.
If loaded on system boot, tiler2_dmm.ko, and tiler2.ko modules load fine.
But, I'm working through some missing references on the ion_driver.ko module.
I'll know more in a day or so as I debug it, as to whether this technique will work.
Worst case is, I'll have to re-write the tiler2 portion as a wrapper of our existing tiler instead of a whole new device as it is now.
TL;DR: Camera needs the /dev/ion device (as does a few codecs) I'm working on a kernel module solution at the moment which has some bugs.
I am in Canada using Bell and I can't seem to add APNs as they won't save. I am currently using a verizon Droid 3 and I have tried switched the network to both WCDMA mode only as well as auto GSM. Any tips on what might be causing the problem?
ICS/CM9 users
i posted a video in my thread [first post] that shows Alpha3 running smoothly. I made the video because lots of users were saying many things didnt work in the ROM that did. It shows that paid&free apps, google music, gallery, quickpic, wifi, usb charging and everything but camera works. It seemed like some users needed a little proof to how it should be running. Well anyone is free to check it out =] Follow hashcodes instructions exactly and this is what youll get. Happy ROMing

I'm also GSM user and on ALPHA#2 GSM work great but in ALPHA 3 and 4 i dont have any possiblility to make a ph. call ( 3g and sms working) but when i try to call always got com.andoird.phone was stop
- i try to wipe all / format / edit build.prop / i changing many time in *#*#4636#*#*
something was do wrong in build 3 and 4
tuned, waiting for camera
thanks for your effort
wow - what happened to the other posts?
Edit - Never mind. I read what happened.

Keyboard slide out will unlock phone
Click to collapse
You mean even when you set it to NOT unlock from slide in settings?
Because else I find this not an issue at all. In fact I bought widgetlocker just to have my phone unlock when I slide
Noticed storage is still a bit wonky.../mnt/sdcard-ext is now being returned as default external storage per Environment.getExternalStorageDirectory(). (The "External" storage in that API call means default user storage, not removable storage.) I believe isExternalStorageRemovable() is returning false, which it should be (provided the default storage is corrected to be /mnt/sdcard).
Thanks again for all your hard work, hope to switch to this as my daily-use phone soon. I like my Galaxy Nexus well enough but there's just no replacement for a physical keyboard.
(Reposted here...didn't see old thread was dropped as I had it bookmarked)

Ya when I saw this I was a little disappointed that this was a issue. But I can see why some people may not want this to happen. Would be awesome if we could maybe get a option to tick if we wanted slide keyboard to unlock, but more important stuff to fix first

Not that I can find..I don't like the slide unlock and I looked in all the settings for that option lol
/Droid3
I'm in favor of a "slide to unlock" option if he's able to track down the culprit. I sometimes have my phone slide open a crack in my pocket, but it's enough to light up the screen and thus unlock it.
It almost needs to open 1cm before it unlocks!!

[Mod-ICS] EQS - Extended Quick Settings CWM Flash V1 - 3/22/12

*This is a tweak for ICS ONLY!
This has been tested on AT&T ICS Vivid based & AT&T Generic (Telestra based) rom only! Flash to Velocity or Raider based roms at your own risk. You must be using a Deodexed rom, or know how to remove the odex files from OTA standard stock roms & change permissions manually or with ADB if you do not flash via CWM.
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY AS I WANT YOU TO UNDERSTAND THE TERMS OF THIS POST & CONTINUED WORK ON COOL ITEMS FOR THE HOLIDAY DEVICE LINE!
***The items posted here are not to be cooked into any public rom at this time. This is for device end users & developers that wish to help compile new tweaks & participate in finalizing the product. This is not intended to start any issues, but I have been working with other developers & with Chef's on this project & there will be a release that is available soon for cooks to use in other public roms. Please be patient & RESPECTFUL to the people that have & are spending time & money on bring this quality development to the Vivid forum.
As you know, I have been working on a few projects, the biggest of which is getting more developers involved with the Holiday line of devices as well as to bring back developers that have left the XDA community because of issues & frustrations. My better judgement was to NOT post this or any preview of it until it was complete, but I want this forum to thrive & so I have to go out on a limb & have faith that the forum members & developers can be honest & follow simple rules in regards to permission. Respect is going to be key in making the Vivid forum a success & you can't have respect without trust. So I am entrusting you with this first of many tweaks either done or very close to done that will be available if everyone is honest & respectful. I believe in this community, please do not let me down.
This project is not mine alone. Many have contributed to development & to porting it to the Vivid. This is a port of the world famous tweaks by j4n87 & his great attitude towards helping build the Vivid section is greatly appreciated. He does not own a Vivid, yet he took the time to really help out or forum & has taught me quite a lot. This is in my opinion one of the coolest parts of some very cool things coming to a Vivid near you soon.
Again, this is a taste of several development items we have coming to the HTC Vivid very soon.
So now, I present you the highly anticipated Extended Quick Settings for the HTC AT&T Vivid, as well as some Telestra based ICS roms. I have been working on getting this going on the Vivid for some time & thanks to the great J4n87 (a true Smali-Maniac), this is just one part of a suite of tweaks the next release will allow for transparent EQS as well as transparent app drawer & the final program will take HTC Vivid customization to a new level.
The file attached file is a CWM flashable zip file. Just place it on your SD Card, Boot into Bootloader, Boot into your recovery (Or if using APM, bypass all the aforementioned & selest "Restart" & "Boot into Recovery"), then select flash zip menu (depends on your recovery version). Select the HTC_ATT_VIVID_EQS.zip & flash just like you would a a rom or any other CWM flashable zip.
Remember, if you like this mod, please click thanks & please be sure to look up j4n87 & thank him even more.
Please, if possible, take a minute to DL from Mediafire here:

Once done this app will allow you to change ON THE FLY: APM, EQS (my Version, prob. gonna add Jan's as final which includes ability to remove or re-position eqs toggle items, go straight to EQS if you have no notifications), Hide Wifi Config (saves space when wifi is not active), Hide notification Icons, Show/Disable recent apps in QS drop down, Enable/Disable EQS Transparency, Notification Bar Caption (add custom text to notificaton bar), Hide specific notification icons, Enable/Disable unlock animations, Standard/Super/Ultra Smooth Rosie, Clock L/R/C, the power saving Capacitive Backlight settings (dim button backlight between 3x levels: Standard/Dim/Off), operator name displayed (Customize or remove), Use/remove paginated app drawer function, change between 4 or 5 column app drawer, Use of AOSP lockscreen, Unlock options (use of Menu button), Up/Down Volume wake (wake device with volume rocker), Access the HTC Diagnotic App & hidden Diag screens, Change or remove the Overscroll Glow Color, MMS Wake up (lights screen when MMS message is received) & APM tweaks including ability to add or remove Screenshot, Airplane Mode, Mobile Data & the Sound Toggle buttons from the APM menu.
Today you are getting a glimpse into this great development with the APM mod.
Nice job, I'm liking all these ported mods coming in all of a sudden.
Thanks - This installs fine on the "WCX Sense Telstra Velocity ICS 3.6 Initial Release" but there seems to be an issue with WiFi, it is greyed out in quick settings and the text says "turning on" but nil happens. Wireless ADB is also marked as "Turning On" but is not greyed out and you can turn it ON/OFF(the Telstra Radio???). I can also no longer enable WiFi or the Hotspot with the normal widget or via the main menu either.
This is the only issue I have seen but are there other things you would like me to test (as I will flash back at some point of course)
Thanks
Nathan
Everything works fine on my end. Using AT&T Generic build by WCX.
I am on generic base, which is telestra based without issue. It may be something you have installed.
Give me detail & I will try to recreate & logcat or give me a logcat.
Of course mine uses some SDK libraries & drivers that are not in many roms since they don't get used by the gen. pop.
Can I hide that link to the non-existent tweaks app on the top of the Quick Settings?

The WiFi does eventually say it failed, but I'm having issue getting a logcat to send...I've installed CatLog but the Wait Circle goes around and around once I try to start WiFi. As it could be any off the things installed, I'll go back and flash "WCX Sense Telstra Velocity ICS 3.6 Initial Release" then bump on EQS and see what happens prior to loading up anything else.

So, I made a port of my HOX rom for yuga. It is basically a PA with some additions from other ROMs. This is an early-stage alpha (I don't even know if it boots) so I need some testers. Hopefully we can reach a good stability level in time for PA's Hybrid2 and Halo. Please test and report back problems! Thank you.

Boots nicely, has same issue as CM roms, where the radio signal doesn't work, and you get unknown baseband. Just doing a few reboots right now to sort it
ROM seems fine, no major issues, there might be a graphical quirk or two though, but looks good enough in basic function, if you are aware of the issues getting modem to work on CM-based ROMs

Do you plan to get an Xperia Z anytime soon? Kinda curious because this looks promising.
Installed and set uped. Works like a charm, thank you OP. Maybe if we could get the max DPI go up to 480, as it is now its 320. Would be nice. Will report back after further testing

Thanks, will look in to it. As i remember I have done that before in early PA days.
Can you make calls with this rom? I could send sms but not make phone calls. When attemting to make one it just cut the call before conecting and showing the message " not availabale in this area" or something like it. I changed betweeen Lte/Gsm and GSM mode in mobile network settings and still the same. And it was not the baseband unknown issue, first thing i checked.

Can you take the logcat with ADB? I already have a suspect, but I'm not sure. By the way, Halo source code will roll out soon.

I dont have it installed now, needed a phone that could make calls. If you really need that logcat and no one else who has it installed steps forward let me know and i will install it for you. We need clean PA for yuga, and thank you for bringing us your version
I'll test some stuff tonight. If you're around at 7pm GMT onwards, jump onto freenode.net IRC and join the #villainrom channel. I'll be on if you want me to test anything specifically (and maybe pulser won't be AFK ;-D).
thanks for your great work

yes, is it working for you?
Hello,
Could you please share your sources? Since you don't have the phone, and I prefer AOSPA over PAC, and I would like to make a PA rom for the xperia z.
edit:
after reading the first post again, I saw you mention that this is a "port" of your Endeavour rom. Does that mean you packed the libs and bins from the FreeXperia sources into the Endeavour PA update.zip?
Thanks in advance!

Nice !:highfive: thanks
I'm building now with audio fixed (I hope). Check my d-h-st for yuga release this afternoon (ADSL...). I've also implemented notification shortcuts from Carbon.
Part of my source code is on github.com/xzzz9097, but I don't have time now to update everything. Anyway, this ROM is completely source built.
EDIT Upload is at 80%. It should finish in half an hour.

One more for me
HTC One Illusion Rom FAQs
How do I enable HALO?
Go into settings. Under Illusion System Settings, select interface. You will find Halo Options. Here you can turn on halo, and tweak the way Halo works.
Where is my Data toggle in the notification pane quick settings panel?
As of right now, the only way to toggle data is through the Data Usage menu in settings. A fix is being worked on for this. I believe the problem exists in quite a few ROMS for the One.
Why isn't my NFC working?
Don't worry, all you need to do is flash the file at the bottom of this post title NFC Fix. This fix was pointed out by @Pony Express.
How do I enable/Disable CRT animations?
CRT off animation can be toggled under Illusion System Settings>Display
How do I access Google Now?
On the HTC One, the HTC logo is NOT a button. However, in the Illusion ROM (and some other ones), the strip above the logo has been modded to work as a button. Long pressing that stip will give you instant access to Now
Are there any other Bugs I should be aware of?
Not sure if it is mac only, or whether this will occur on PC as well, but if you connect as MTP, mac does not recognize it. ADB and PTP work fine. It is only MTP where this issue occurs. At this point, I feel the issue is with Macs being unable to recognize the MTP protocol. I was able to work it on a PC.

Bugs
Data Tile in EQS doesn't work (Data works, just have to go into settings, or use a widget)
Sweep2wake doesn't work, even if you select it in the Illusion Settings
Mac MTP issue

Yup, my party is about to jump-off shortly!!!
Well the ROM is certainly speedy, but there are some things I can't help but notice:
1. There is a small delay between tapping an item on the screen, and an action happening...for example, tapping an ON/OFF toggle would turn that toggle on, or off, about a half second after I tapped it. Same goes with opening the app drawer, or any app.
2. The audio sounds very distorted. It never sound so distorted on the stock ROM, so maybe there's a file missing that needs to be extracted so the BOOM sound doesn't sound bad. (using the built in EQ app doesn't work well either)
3. The font is somewhat difficult to read, even with it set to large. It's very narrow....
Other than that, it's a wonderful ROM for those wanting stock
Sweet, would try this out. Thanks devs

The sound issue is definitely present in new Cyanogen mod builds, it only happens when its on max volume, tick it one down and it's gone. I noticed this one the 7/6 nightly and it drove me crazy so much I went back to sense.
Just installed this rom. GPS seems to not work on any aosp or aokp builds. Any fix?
I can post a log cat if needed.

Here is a couple things you can try. Go into Google settings app / location and make sure access is turned on also before flashing over to a Aosp from sense make sure you turn your GPS on and get a lock in maps then boot into recovery and flash Rom. And in LTE gps acts flakky I have to toggle location access while on lte. To get it to turn on hope this helped

If you didn't run GPS at least once on Sense, it frequently won't work with CM/AOKP builds. Go and do that...once you do that CM10/AOKP lock on to GPS (on my phone) in about 2 seconds, even indoors.
EDIT: This means you have to RUU back to stock, GPS lock, then re-install whatever ROM.
New Build tomorrow

We can make use of the stock wifi tether app by editing a few lines using SQlite Editor ($2.99)in the play store. One would click on the files tab, navigate to data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases and select telephony.db
In there you edit the corresponding apns in carriers and carriers cache: ID 1512 and 1513 for Tmobile US by changing the pcweb apn for tethering to fast.t-mobile.com.
Reboot and all is well.
I've been noticing one issue.
When I get a notification, gmail, text, etc I am unable to double tap the display to get it to turn on. I have to press the power button to turn the display on. Anyone else having this issue?
Edit: Looking at it more, it only happens with Gmail and Texts (default messaging app). I can receive a work email through the default email app and exchange and it works just fine. The other thing that happens is I can't unlock or turn on the display for about 5-7 seconds after the email/text is received.

@flex360 did you give up on this? I keep checking back for more info and further development, but there has been nothing in some time now. I was rooting for you when you started this, and I want to be still. I'm pretty new to Android. I'm still trying to make my stock rom deodexed and installable. I' got the deodex part done, but I havn't been able to make it installable yet. The information doesn't appear to be easily found. Anyway I hope that you haven't given up on this project.
He might be Mia bc he could be working on the New OTA base that droped for the Developer Edition...
