Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this. I am on a 4.4.2 stock GPE rom on a m7tmo. The issue is when I disconnect from wifi, mobile data will connect for a few seconds, then disconnect. Eventually data does come back and is solid. Could just be my area and the towers I suppose (Metro Detroit, MI)...anyway just wondering if anyone else has experienced this? Perhaps a kernel could fix or a wipe is needed. Any feedback is appreciated.
im experiencing the same problem. tried everything (wipe, format, changed rom, flash diff radio). the problem is still there.
you can fix it by #*#*4636*#*# > phone info > choose different options (wcdma only, wcdma preferred, gsm only etc) and see which suits your phone the best. me im on gsm only. sometimes wcdma only.
or maybe u can flash different radio.
hope this helps.
and if you are going to send to warranty, make sure u unroot the phone.
guides are here

I'm having an issue with my HTC One. I had been on Paranoid Android, working fine for several weeks (so I didn't flash the wrong version for my Sprint hardware). Last week, I was suddenly showing roaming, with an empty triangle for the signal bars. I tried messing with the RUM/SIM/NV settings, but it didn't resolve the issue. I ended up reflashing back to stock 1.29 via the RUU, but still showed an 'x' next to my signal bars. I then let it update to 1.31 (damn...) but that didn't solve the issue either. If I go into the Network info under About phone, I show 0 signal strength if LTE is disabled. If I enable LTE, then I get signal, and data. Only CDMA is not working.
If I go into the MSL menu (##<MSL>#), it shows 'No' for both MDN and MSID. If I try to enter them, I get a message "Commit Failed" when I try to save them.
Support at the Sprint store wouldn't even look at it because the bootloader was unlocked.
Has anyone had issues with the CDMA radio failing? Anything else to try?

I would take it back to another Sprint store. They are suppose to take your phone and run the RUU. There was a posting from a Sprint employee a few weeks back with the internal company policy - which was to do a reset or run the RUU to put the phone back to stock to determine if it is a software or hardware issue. If hardware issue, Sprint is suppose to then replace the phone.
All androir 4.3 based rom have some data or signal issues with cdma ... I just go back to 4.2, everything is fine. If you have a signal issue with stock rom you should ask for a hardware replacement.

I've never had a 4.3 ROM on this phone. Was on a 4.2 AOSP ROM, and now I'm back on HTC One 1.29 (after upgrading to 1.31, and then RUU'ing back to 1.29 again). No CDMA reception on anything. I'll try another Sprint store. The guy at the one I went to was pretty pompous. He asked if the phone had been rooted. I figured honesty would be best, since he would know that the bootloader had been unlocked as soon as he went into HBoot.

Try changing the mobile network mode to something else in the setting page, then change it back, sometimes it works ...

Airplane mode on and then off. This fixes the issue.

Issue solved
Closing the loop. I found the issue. I must have somehow changed from NV to RUIM/SIM in the Mobile Subscription settings while on a CM based ROM. When I reflashed to stock using the 1.29 (and then 1.31) stock RUU, it doesn't change this setting in the radio. And then there is no access to this setting to correct it in the stock ROM (as far as I could find... maybe there's a hidden ## option). To fix the issue, I had to reflash back to a CM based ROM so that I could access the mobile subscription settings, change it back to NV, and then reflash back to stock and let it do the Handsfree activation. After that, everything is working again.

Would you be able to walk me through that process? I am having the same issue. Where would I find those settings after flashing over to a CM based ROM?
edit: NM Pretty easy to find on a CM based ROM.
Hi I have a droid 4. I bought it in the USA and used it only in Italy. It was rooted and unlocked and it has always been working fine over GSM and 3G. Then I decided to install CM 10.2.1 and then i upgraded it to CM 11. In both cases sending sms was not working (calls and internet fine). Trying to fix it I went also in the *#*#4636#*#* testing menu and changed setting of radio. But now I cannot restore it and I always get no signal. Both with CM but also booting from Stock ROM.
I flashed many times but still nothing. As first I'd like to have singal back to call and use the net (3G). then I'll fix sms.
Can I do a sort of radio otpion reset? or firmware reset?
Plese help! Thank you!
IF there is some better section (or forum) just tell, I guess it can be a common issue and not specific for D4.

fastboot radio radio.img
I did it too
radio.img is found on the fastboot archive, no data will be lost. enter in fastboot by pressing vol up + down and power
Regards
To make your SMS work, you need to change a setting in build.prop relating to it, none of the radio settings will make it work since that isn't the problem.
ro.telephony.gsm-routes-us-smsc=1 must be changed to ro.telephony.gsm-routes-us-smsc=0
or install mentor's gsm patch
Hi guys,
Need some advise on how to deal with this issues.
When I use stock Rom, it's all good. Perfectly fine. No drop outs on mobile network.
But when I flashed custom rom (Liquidsmooth, PureNexus, Chroma etc..), my mobile network keep dropping out every 1 minute. I'm on Optus Australia network. I tried all different rom and it's The same issues except stock rom.
Checked the radio for all stock and custom rom after flash, all the same radio.
Please advise what else can I do to find out what's the root cause?
Cheers.

When using custom ROMs, ensure your APN is correct.

It's a known issue for some folks that data either doesn't connect, I'm one of those unlucky N6 owners that has had that issue.
My issue was with all cm based Roms wouldn't or couldn't connect to my carrier and all aosp based Roms would connect and hold a data signal without any issue.
I believe there's commits that are not merged in cm based Roms.
Also I had to flash the M preview radio as well.
It was trial and error for me to see which Roms would connect.
I flashed every single Rom and above it all I have a moto 360 that really is a pain in the a** when flashing any Rom.
The only solution I had now is to connect to DATA instead of WIFI everytime when I restart the phone. Let it connect for around 5 minutes, then switch to WiFi.
This way it won't drop out anymore.
Till a better solution is out, I guess I just had to keep doing this instead.
@flashallthetime , thanks for your input
Hi guys i have a story to tell you... my WiFi doesn't work on XT1058 5.1... i thought was a Lollipop related issue so wanted to downgrade to 4.4.4 and see if the problem really was related to android version, but it isn't. I downgraded successfully from 5.1 to 4.4.4 with your tutorial, but the WiFi problem persist. Now i know i'm really screwed up becouse i tried i believe everything possible...
- Airplane mode
- Factory reset
- Cache wipe
- Full wipe
- Custom rom
- Custom kernel
- Android 4.4.4
- Different AP's and routers
- Delete wpa supplicant conf...
So i don't know what to do. Te specific problem is that WiFi can see available networks, but randomly some of them disappear and others show up, and when i try to connect for ex. to my home network, it says "connecting" and then "saved", with all networks happens the same. Does anyone has a clue, or maybe somebody in the same situation?
I have similar problem before. I tried returned to full 4.4.2 stock and no go.
In the end , I send it to moto and they replace me a new one which costs me 100 bucks.
I think It could be a hardware problem and might caused by running wifi hotspot too often...

I get no service often and it does not go away until i reboot my phone. I have tried the following but failed.
1) Unlocked bootloader and installed CynogenMod 13.
2) Installed Team Bliss Firmware
3) Updated Radio and Bootloader to S4UTL 49
4) tried the 4636 code and manually set the preferred network to LTE/GSM Auto and GSM Auto too.
5) Tried Different Sim Jack.
6) Tried different network sims.
7) Now i am back on stock rom 49 but issue persist.
Please provide me a solution or atleast give me an idea how do i make my system to reboot on no service automatically so that i dont miss important calls.
I believe this is a known issue with poor service areas.
Sadly I do not know a solution either.
When i use my sim in other phone it works fine and i have no such issues.just with driod turbo i am having this issue.
I, too, had this issue, but only when I went to the Brazilian MM ROM. I did not have that issue on stock LP (unlocked bootloader, Xposed).
the only thing different I did to help resolve it was I went into the developer options and set the "Aggressive to Cellular handover" to on. You may also want to see if "Cellular data always on" works as well. However, when I just checked this setting, it was set to off (but I had flipped it to on about a week ago, and I'm wondering if it defaults to off on reboot).
so see if one/both of those options works.
I switched both on let's see what happens.
try also to see if this happens after a phone call. I'm wondering if the lack of VoLTE is causing the issue. could some issue where the device thinks that there is a call connection when really not???
Same issue with me, When I Google I found this is common with Motorola mobiles but found no solution yet, Please help if any one have resolved it yet
