[Q] Changing camera app for physical shutter - Xperia Z1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi.
I'd like to know if I can change the app that opens when I use the physical shutter on the Z1 from the stock camera app to one that I've downloaded. Thanks.

[Q] How to disable screen capture sound with Tasker?

Hi,
I am using a TW-based ROM (Criskelo) and I'd like to disable the screen capture sound without having to completely mute the phone.
Preferably I'd rather not delete the actual sound file as I'd have to do it whenever I upgrade the ROM.
I already did something similar to mute the camera sound with a Tasker profile, but I can't see a "screen capture" event or app in Tasker.
Have I missed this in Tasker?
Thanks!

You can cut it from its original location and paste it to another location usimg root explorer. Whenever you upgrade it you can put it back to its original location. As simple as that.

Is there a way to automate that with Titanium backup I wonder? I'd really would like to avoid too many manual tweaks after each upgrade, especially if I don't upgrade for a while I'll forget all this...

You can mute camera shutter sound by going in camera settings.
Screen shots sounds will be gone too.

Ah indeed the ICS Camera App has a Shutter sound Off setting, but it doesn't turn off the screenshot sound on my ROM (Criskelo)

you might confuse the poor guy with the actual zooming in the default camera app. abd_alazeez2002 meant the Camera Zoom FX app, which allows you to map hardware buttons (except for the power button) to camera functions.
I have the Vol down button as my shutter.

[Q] How to use quick launch

Hi guys,
As you know, in camera application we have a setting like in the attachment.
How we can use it ? When I start camera application, it won't capture a photo. What do I have to do for using this option ? In 4.2.2, when I start camera from lock screen, it immediately take a picture. But this option was before 4.2.2. There must be another way to use it.
And can you explain, the differences between "Launch and capture" and "Launch only (still camera)" ?
Thanks...
This function is only for lockscreen, launch and capture will launch the camera and take a photo automatically, but launch only will launch the camera without taking a photo.

The Camera button seems to be tied to the "intelligent auto" mode.
Even when I press the shutter button while I'm in the Whatsapp Camera Mode, the Sony Camera App opens and the Whatsapp Camera Mode vanishes into background without taking a picture.
When phone is rooted, try freezing stock camera app and then try again while you have another app installed. That could work

On non root, simply decativate stock camera app . Install new one from playstore, and the button will open your new app. Sadly with a lockscreen you don't get a fast track to the cam, but you will have to unlock your device prime of shooting pictures.

I don't think so, I haven't even seen a mod that changes that. Might have to look at older Sony phones to see if someone was able to change that.

Did you try to re-assign the camera button with Xposed Additions?
http://www.addictivetips.com/android/xposed-additions/
With free version you cannot assign Camera action for the Screen Off condition, but with the pro (pay) version you should be able to launch shortcut (maybe Camera shortcut that should maintain camera settings).
You are lookig for "20MP Superioruto"
