[Q] Real racing 3 not opening in xperia SP - Xperia SP Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi.. I installed real racing 3.apk from google playstore on my Xperia SP. As it has large cache, I downloaded 1.12GB game cache from androidmob.org site and placed the cache in sdcard/android/data. When I opened the game on mobile it showed the download progress as 880MB out 1.05 GB. I downloaded the remaining part on mobile. When I tried to open the game, I'll get EA logo at first, next fire monkeys logo with an audio and the game closes(app opens for 5 secs). Why I deleted many apps, used clean master to free the RAM, but no use.. Any help Where I've gone wrong

Hmm..
My problem always is if I want to open for example Dead Trigger 2 (381 MB) it forces closing the app. What I did is go to the app info of Dead Trigger 2 and click "force close" (if not already) and then "deactivate". Then I waited for about 10 seconds, activated it again and cleared the RAM. Afterwards I launched the app and I could play maybe it works also for you

deactivate?

I tried force closing the app and restarting it. But, didnt work. But how to deactivate and later activate it again?

Ouh.. In the ROM I'm currently running there is such a deactivate button but I forgot that it isn't there on stock ROM, sorry. If you're rooted you could use RootAppDelete and Silent uninstall it which is basically the same I think but if not I think you can't deactivate. Sorry therefore
Otherwise try reboot if not already or reinstall the app. I haven't got any better idea right now :/
Nevertheless.. Good luck ^^

Tried your methods, but no use.. I, first moved the cache and then installed the game. Is this may be the reason? Is there any other procedure to place the cache in order to work?

Just download all cache from game direct. Work fine for me. On stock rom And on existenz as well.

Supposedly the new update to the market (pushed out today) creates this problem. I personally froze the market updater because I don't like the new layout of the my apps section, and the missing apps.
The new Play sucks
Any solutions for this problem ?
Just keep reporting it to Google and hope they get the message.
Mine has just update itself and is now showing my Apps.

[solved] XV unlocked bootloader, receiving notification to update.

Thread title kind of explains it. After unlocking my XperiaV's bootloader last night and flashing SpidaSingh's kernel (the version without recovery), I have a notification that I can't get rid of telling me that 9.0.1.D.0.10 is available, even though that's what I'm running and have been running since I OTA'd it a couple weeks ago. I've heard that really bad things can happen if I do an OTA with an unlocked bootloader, otherwise I would just let the update run. I'm new tuo Xperia, and I can't find a way in settings to not have it automatically look for updates, and of course I'm also a bit confused why it would want me to update the firmware that's already being reported in settings. Any suggestions? Thanks!

You can just delete the app which provides the information about the updates. You can use f.e. Anttek App Manager or Titanium Backup (both free on GP) and just delete the app.
I did the same on my Xperia T - nothing wrong happened, everything is fine

May I suggest you freeze the app instead, that's what I did, solves the problem yet should you want the app back or to receive the ota you can just unfreeze it

That's what I did, though actually the problem seems to have resolved itself after flashing a custom rom, go figure.

[Q] Google Play, accounts and time

My Ace is running CM10.1 by Wayland_ACE. I hadn't encountered any issues and I don't think this is ROM related.
Anyway, recently my Google Account randomly removed itself from my device, I readded it and now when I go into Google Play and try to download an application I immediately receive a sever error and cannot download anything. I cleared Google Play's data and uninstalled the updates and cleared Google Play Services' data and rebooted as recommended in another thread. Didn't fix anything.
Then I noticed that the time was off by two minutes, was always correct before. I have the auto-obtain network time and manually selected the timezone (EST).
I fixed the time but Google Play still isn't working properly. It also isn't autoupdating to the latest version which is strange. As far as I am aware it should do that.
Does anyone know how to fix Google Play? (and no, I don't want to use another app store like 1mobile or Aptoide...)
I'll try to update this post with the exact error but it might be awhile. My Ace is freaking out right now with random reboots.
Not certain what happened but now my Ace has become really unstable. Its rebooting after every few minutes.

Its working now... I wiped cache and dalvik cache. Play Store still won't update back to 3.10.1 though. Any ideas for how I can force it to update?

Oh otherwise I would have sent u an update to 4.2.2 but u would need an pc. Anyway seems strange. What exactly happens when u try to install an apk? Try taking the sd card out. Try downloading the apk u wanna install on to the phone without the sd card. Then try installing it. Let me know if that works.

Using explorer I go to the file, tap on it package installer comes up, tap install, installer opens with app details and permissions, try to tap install but the button doesn't highlight it's been pressed, nothing happens. Cancel button works fine

Could be an application you already installed is doing this.
Remove the apps one by one and try again.

Clear data for the Media Storage app:
Settings > Applications > Manage Apps > All
Scroll down to Media Storage
Select clear data
Try and install your apk.
If it still doesn't work, do the same for Package Installer.

Ok cleared data for Media Storage, no effect.
Cleared data for Package Installer, no effect.
Cleared data for a bunch of other apps with no effect other than losing all my ringtones and notification sounds
Unless I can figure out whats stopping the installation of apps from apk's i just might have to factory reset and start again to see which app it is thats causing these issues.
Thanks all for your help so far!
Ok guys thank you to everyone for helping me. I feel so freakin stupid right now... and rightly so.
I realised that "LUX" auto brightness app was the issue. head slap. Didnt even think of it as a screen related app. Another head slap.
I had stupidly deleted all the apps that trigger sleep mode in Lux's settings ... added package installer back to the list and everything works fine now.
Again a huge thank you to you all for helping and a big sorry for my stupidity.

Problem with installing Android apk which is not from play store!

Guys, pls help! I have Sony Xperia Z smartphone with Android 4.2.2 OS. Whenever I want to install some Android apk which is not from Google play store, a problem occurs. This is how I do it: I transfer Android apk from my computer to my sd card and then I locate it with Astro file manager, but when I start an installaton by pressing option "Install", nothing happens. It's just like that option "Install" is frozen. What confuses me the most is that I've already enabled the option "Unknown sources" (Allow installation of apps from sources other than the Play Store)
Does anyone know how to fix this? Thx!
If you are using any apps like Twilight that create a screen filter, then you need to deactivate them before installing an apk (or in the case of Twilight, activate the app filter in its settings).
Sent from my C6603 using Tapatalk 2
Now that truly is a strange issue. My suggestion Sony gave me when I called em up when I had a similar problem, back up your data and reset the phone. Simple as that.
Didn't read your last sentence.
Sent from my Xperia Z using XDA premium.
Have you tried putting them on internal memory instead of the SD card?
I have seen it where for whatever reason (usually the type of format that the SD card was done with), some APK's just will not install from the external SD ..
Also, maybe try a different file manager than Astro ...
What apps are you trying to install? if all else fails at least try putting file in system/app then reboot phone
