I can't update or download from playstore and I've got plenty space. I get insufficient storage available.
I've read about a folder dev/logs but this folder is almost empty on my phone and data/logs I've read about isn't on my phone. I've tried to erase apps, delete play store cache and data but nothing. After a restart it seems I can DL 1 thing then that's it.
Tried a bunch of stuff so far and nothing.

Ran into above problem while updating an app on market. I clearly have more than enough space with 126mb free in internal storage and 4.18gb free on sd card. App is 16mb. Googled several solutions but nothing works.
clearing cache/dalvik cache
dismounting sd card before applying update
in adb:
chown system.system /data/app
chmod 0771 /data/app
I'm running cm6.1.2 port for milestone by nadlabak, with memhack installed. Trying not to do an uninstall/install cause there's some data I want to keep. Please help!
Maybe you try to download an apk too big? Try with another app smaller..
If this is from the true market, I believe you can update the app using market.android.com and trying to see if their servers will have an easier time then what you have tried
Good Luck

Google maps is bigger and has updated fine. I doubt a lack of storage is the real issue here...

I tried the methods listed because android market failed to update the app. No problems downloading the app, but installation fails. It's not a corrupted apk either because I've tried downloading over wifi several times.
So I think I may have found the problem memhack looks like it is screwing everything up because you have 2.2 take a look here

Can you say what is the app? For any app I've the same problem (like quickpic)..
Hi, my rooted Razr I (x86) can not install any app suddenly. I am sure that the storage is sufficient. It always got an "Insufficient storage available" in Google Play.
I searched some solutions which include :
1. deleting the files in "/data/dalvik-cache" and reboot.
2. deleting files in "/data/app"without right icon and delete titanium.odex file something like that
3. uninstall the update of Google Play, and clear its cache.
But none of solutions above worked. Could some one help me?
Delete previous app folders from the internal memory wherever they are:
Android/data/'etc'
Or:
Sdcard0/'apk folder'
Try to install the app again
Did work for me.
Good luck

I don't suppose you'd also changed your default install location to external SD card?
I changed this on mine and got the error you mentioned... had to change it back to be able to install/update apps.
I picked up two HTC One devices today as soon as the Sprint Store opened. I have as of yet not be able to download any previously purchased paid applications.
This includes several rather expensive EA games, that just say "Not Compatible with your Device" which doesn't even allow me to download to my device. (Mass Effect Infiltrator and Need for Speed shift come to mind first)
All other paid apps seem to download, but fail to install. (such as Weatherbug Elite and Minecraft Pocket Edition) I've tried from phone, as well as the Google Play website on my PC.
I'm in the US, on Sprint. Tried both WIFI and 3g.
Has anyone else encountered this problem? If so, did you find a solution?
Thank you in advance.
For the ones that say not compatible: wait until compatibility is added. I've come across the same multiple times and some never gained compatibility with my device. That is on the app developer, not the app store
For the other issues, go to settings>apps>all
Delete cache and data for both Google play store and Google framework services and force stop both. That should fix

Thanks for the quick reply. I did both things you suggested. Once I cleared and force stopped, I had to restart the phone, as I kept getting the "No Connection" error on the Play Store, on both WiFi and Sprint.
Once I rebooted, I attempted to install another paid app, and it again failed. The error is "Couldn't Install on USB storage or SD card." (again I can install any other app that I didn't pay for)
If its important I did root, I'm running TWRP recovery and ViperRom 1.0.
Same problem on stock root Rom. My friend is unrooted and the same apps install fine

You could try installing esfile manager on your old phone that the apps work on and backing up the apps to the sd card then copy the backed up apk to the HTC one to install it might not work but I have done this many of times with my EVO 3d ans my touch pad

same here..early this evening before root my apps installed fine..but now after root those same apps will not install..Free versions do install..Im on the stock rooted deodexed rom
Only with PAID apps...any free app works

That's on deodexed roms only. It may be a permissions issue. The apks themselves install fine from your sdcard if you have them.

The current idea is this:
Downloading paid apps requires writing a temp file to mnt/.asec/
But the issue is, mnt is read only.
It should be fixed in no time. Vipers the man.

It's not always a temp file. In the case of Swiftkey the actual apk is in mnt/. Asec. I was able to pull it from my dna and install from my card.

ok here is what I would do
http://androidcommander.com
download this file, connect your phone with adb debugging enabled. This program will find your device, from there you can open an extracted rom browse the rom until you find the HTC TV app and install it as a system app,
I did this for my evo 3d when devs took out the 3d widgets I used.

no if you double click the apk file for HTCTV another window will open, when you click install a third window will open and the last option is install as a system app, select that one and click install
this will chmod the app file as 777 allowing it be executed. I think your system is not set as rw and only as ro.

Neat app. Followed the instructions went exactly as you described, install was "successful" but nothing shows up in my app drawer. Rebooted to see if that would fix, still no dice. Im beginning to think downloading the full rom will be the best idea. If i do, would i need to wipe? I know i should wipe if going to a different rom but in this its the same rom.

just in case... it's called tv in the app draw, not htc tv or sense tv just plain "tv"
First of all I have purchased the app from the play store. I had installed the app on the stock sense 5 rom and it was working perfectly. I wanted to switch over to ARHD 10.1 rom so I backed up only the data of the game (which is about 1.86gb) onto my computer, installed the rom and placed back the rom into my data folder on the sd card. Now heres the problematic part, when I try to install the app from the app store. It obviously detects the data files and only installs the apk package which is about 36 mb. After downloading it, it says installing for about 1 minute and then gives me an error -24. If I remove the data from the data folder, it tries to download the whole 1.86gb again which I feel is a waste of my bandwidth as I have already downloaded all those files. Any help?

I fixed it. I figured out that there must be some data left over from my previous installation of the game. So I went to /data/data and found that the previous data folder of the game had not been deleted during the previous uninstallation and so I deleted the folder and tried installing the app again and it got installed. Hope this helps someone
