I disabled the moodles app that changes it. Then go to "/data/local/moodles" and change the bootanimation.zip name. Then go to "system/media" and the original bootanimation.zip will be there...should boot to that one or rename and place new animation in that folder with bootanimation.zip name. Can also change the name and it will default to standard animation with "android" in the middle, which is what I like.

Hopefully this helps...I had audio, but not sure why it didn't record. I will do another video with audio if you guys need it.
Just remember to backup originals and then replace w/ new apk or delete them after they are backed up change permissions and reboot
(if you view the video just hit the ad as a thanks or hit the thanks button here )
Agreed, could you post those 4 webtop files so those of us whom it shows up as "unavailable" can attempt to fix it?

I'm guessing you went straight from 886 to 5.7.893? One update?
Could someone post another link to the camera.apk because his link is down?

Anyone get this to work? I'm on 5.5.886
I backed up my old Blur-Camera.apk and Blur-Camera.odex to my SD card. Extracted the files from the provided zip to /system/app and fixed permissions to be rw-r--r--. Rebooted, and its' still not showing up. I reverted back to my old camera for now until someone else gets it working.

You're a fool. I've cheesecaked all the way to 5.7. The kernel blocks webtop at some point in the upgrade path. The only way to keep webtop (that has been found) is to go directly from 886 and cheesecake to 5.7, one big jump. If he didn't do that, then this is crucial information in obtaining webtop back for us who did the incremental updates.
Sorry there isn't a search button to help your ignorance and lack of knowledge.
Also, show me one spot in this thread where he listed his upgrade path.

Boot splash

Hey everyone just wondering about changing the bootsplash on the vivid. I'm familiar with many methods of changing it on the inspire and was wondering if its much different on the vivid since I'm not seeing any info out there on it. I usually convert my resized file and flash with fastboot adb just wondering if the process is the same thanks a lot

Like the HTC splash screen or the animation? If its the animation then just put a bootanimation in customise/resource and name it ATT_bootanimation.zip
If its the HTC splash...idk, I think that's built into the kernel? Could be wrong...

The splash not the animation on the inspire and EVO 3d you had to convert your resized image to a special img format then flash with adb or through bootloader inside a pd zip file if you weren't s-off

It appears to have worked using the nbimg tool and method found in the inspire forum only change was changing the size of the image and the size in the command line to 540x960 instead of 480x800. I'll post full instructions later when I get time for anyone interested in changing that ugly white HTC splash.

Yes it will. However you can do this withou flashing the whole package if you just want the recovery.
Easiest way: use root explorer or other method to rename the recovery_boot.p back to this name. It will then restore stock recovery on next boot.

How on earth did you get it to work? I tried 6 different programs last night for unpacking the system IMG and none of them would recognize the IMG! I'd really appreciate so help on this so I can do it myself in the future.

The are some .so files I think we'll be needed also I found a flashable "wallet fix" zip for at s3 so if its .so files need to be replaced ours likely do also.
And you might want dlto deoxed the liberarys I tried adding odexed NFC extra jar to my RAZR HD and it soft bricked but deodexed worked fine. Just a warning, in my case a lot of things could have caused that.
