^ correct.
You would want to be careful with rooting that though, flashing stuff on knox bootloader gives you warranty voided. If you have no warranty all is well and good though.
There also have been reports of new bootloaders causing lag/fc on certain roms though, so ask around if planning to install custom roms.

Is this 4.3 knox bootloader non Samsung factory ?
How can I return to factory version ?

This is the official samsung bootloader. Press power+home+vol up to go into stock recovery. You can reset factory settings in there.
Sent from my GT-I9305 using Tapatalk
what exactly do you find strange in those messages? it is exactly how it's suppose to be...
make sure you backup everything (efs/nvram/nandroid) before playing with it... you will lose warranty (if you have any) if you try to root or install another rom

I have a Samsung Galaxy S phone, specifically the mesmerize. I rooted my phone using the Superoneclick and I am not trying to unroot it by clicking the unroot button. But everytime i do, it gets to waiting for phone and then it freezes. Is there any other way to unroot, or anything i should be doing? Any input would be appreciated.

Flash any ROM and the root will go.
so if i flash a rom onto my phone, then the unroot will work? the reason i ask is my phone has been acting up so i figured i would just unroot it and wait until froyo was released from samsung.
i would go back to stock firmware. that will guarantee that everything is back to normal. But flashing to any rom will NOT get you updates from samsung. Roms are custom made and are made to stop your phone from receiving official updates from samsung. Anyone correct me if im wrong. But flashing a diffrent rom might just fix your freezing problem.
Thats what I am trying to do, is to unroot my phone in order to go back to regular firmware. The problem is that when i click the unroot button, it gets to the waiting for device and then it freezes. So i have no idea where to go from here, or if there is another easy way to unroot.

Providing you have no lag fix just leave the root app on the phone as the new rom you flash will delete it. Once you have your stock rom back on the phone the root app will be gone, then do a factory reset then it will be as good as new
I am having a similar problem I rooted with odin and now I have to send it in for a hardware warrenty issue. How do I go back to a stock phone?

Just pick up a stock rom from samfirmware.com with a pit file, and flash with odin, and you are good to return for warranty

Make sure you grab a stock rom that was designated for your phone's product code though. Some service centres may refuse warranty otherwise.
Hello everyone,
My phone has had some annoying thing since 2 days ago, everything was fine and it just worked the way it had to, but now i have to press the on/off button atleast like 4 times to get the screen on, at very rare occasions its an 2 times click but mostly 3+
im going back to t-mobile to ask what their advice is, what is your advice?
How to minimize the chance they find out i had done root and unlocked bootlaoder ? ^^
Root will be removed after flashing any rom, as for bootloader, someone said flashing taiwan JB relocked theirs, whether it will stay locked when going back to euro is another thing. If it doesn't flash ICS and pray they dont update it

Also, if it's a hardware failure and you've bought their phone in Europe, they really can't deny fixing it because you have an unlocked bootloader and/or a rooted phone. Read more about it here, so you can go to them with all the information you might need
ain`t you pressing it hard enough? Mine used to be perfect, after a couple of months using it the button became faulty and now I have to press kind of hard otherwise it doesn`t work. But every time I press it hard enough it works.

I'm hoping someone / you guys can help me.
Ever since I did the 4.4.2 update, my phone has been brutally slow and killing the battery and overall just a POS. I looked for wakelocks, screen is extremely low etc. I'm just sick of it to be frank. So I'm hoping to wipe everything, format the sd card and completely fresh as if it were a brand new phone.
From spending the last 3 hours researching, I can't seem to find what I'm looking for. ( maybe I'm overlooking it with my lack of sleep since we have a 8 week old )
From my understanding, I can't downgrade to an older firmware cause of knox. ( I would love to do this, so then I can root it and put on knoxraid or some other rom so I don't have all this bloatware etc )
Now with that being said, since I can't downgrade, I also can't replace my phone since I can't find the 4.4.2 files to odin my phone. I can find the mj5 files, but not the NC2 ( I think those are it )
Can someone please help me here, my sanity is running thin ( again, lack of sleep )
Thank you in advance.

So to confirm, Best Buy or AT&T can flash it? I pretty much can just go in there and say " Hey can you reflash my phone?"

From what I have heard the employees in the samsung experience shop inside of bestbuy have a tool that can reflash the phone. Make sure to call ahead before you go into the store. Explain to them whats going on and ask them if they are able to reflash the stock version on the phone.
If your phone says that its rooted they are not allowed to do the flash.
If they do not have the software my recommendation would be to contact ATT. Since it is a software issue the phone will be covered without that warranty that you pay monthly for. So they will ship you out a refurbished (like new) phone and then you will send yours to them.
EDIT :
And also the ATT service centers do not have the tool to reflash your phone. Only Samsung has access to that. ATT service center will just give you a number to call to have them ship you out a phone.
Thank you Aaron, I appreciate it

I've been to Samsung smart station at Best Buy:
1. Being on MLG 442 it said that being up to date it couldn't flash
2. The rep "said" that since it was previously rooted it wouldn't allow the flash anyway

there is adb sideload of the ATT OTA update
device must have NB4 or NC2 otherwise update aborted due to expected fingerprint not seen by the OTA such as MLG or MJ5 MI9 MI1
if rooted or not will not matter it's the fingerprint = NB4 or NC2 to get stock 442 OTA

I was having problems also... Just do a factory reset and then do a wipe in recovery mode and you'll be good to go. I got a brand new phone from AT&T service center, came on MJ5 - I installed some apps and setup the phone before I could get on wifi, updated to kitkat when I got home and I had issues all over again. A simple reset works.
Hey guys I'm a brand new member to XDA.. I love this forum, I've read it since forever and I really appreciate y'all as a community...
Anyway, I have a C6606 from T-Mobile and becauae they never update anything I used Flashtool to stick the 4.4.2 stock rom on it. It works fine and it's all good. It says it's a C6616 as you can tell though. But I have the issue that sometimes when I bring it out of my pocket its rebooting on its own. Happens two or three times a day and its annoying. When I flashed it I forgot to mark the bootloader checkbox on Flashtool . So I noticed it, and went ahead and re-flahsed with the box now marked. Still the same. Any advice?

More information please ? How it started. What you think is the cause of it. Did you flash any rom or something. are you on unlocked bootloader or something? Did you recently root it ? And any other information you think could be helpful.

No man the bootloader is still locked. The phone isn't rooted All I did is I flashed the stock Sony 4.4 4 firmware on it with flashtool. i guess its the international version software , it lets me update OTA on anything new that comes out. I found out the cause is the STAMINA Mode because it doesn't happen when it's turned off. It prompted me.to update to lollipop over the air and I did.. If I turn on STAMINA it will start rebooting and it drains my battery. So its definitely the stamina mode. Any ideas?

Hello mate
I think you have narrow it down a bit but if you really want to know exact apps which are draining your battery, I suggest you root your device and install Wakelock detector.
It'll narrow down what's killing your battery in stamina mode.

Are you rooted? or maybe are you familiar with the process of unlocking bootloader, flashing recovery and installing custom or official roms?

Im not sure if im rooted, how can i be sure?
about the other things im not familiar with them so much.
It looks like something went wrong with your update and your system partition messed up. The ssolution I would suggest you is to
1) Unlock your bootloader
2) Flash custom recovery (twrp or cwm)
3) Push a new rom (official or custom) to your phone's storage using custom recovery
4) Install new rom using custom recovery
This will probably void your warranty so if the phone still has a warranty and you dont feel confident doing any of these, it would be a better idea to bring your phone to an official service.
Now if your warranty is expired and you would prefer giving your money for a new phone instead of service, then you have nothing to lose and try the steps I suggest you.
There are plenty of guides in this forum for each of the steps I mentioned. Remember, if you dont feel confident doing any of these, try doing them only if you have nothing to lose because there is a chance that the phone is bricked (your phone seems to be soft bricked currently).
