Hello guys, I have a problem with the flash led not working properly with the camera. About six months ago when I was on vacation, my phone went on the pool with me, and since then the flash led is very low dimmed while taking pictures.
The strange thing about all, is that the flash led works with full power if I use it with the flashlight apk that comes pre-installed with a mod Rom, but not with any downloaded apk from the store. With the camera and with a downloaded flashlight apk I only get a very low dimmed light.
I know that the Led works, I know that the camera works, so what can be problem? Do I have to change the camera module?

Well my phone still works fine an everything, but it seems to me that ever since flashing a gingerbread rom to my phone (and then reverting back to stock roms), the camera app doesnt seem to work properly. When I go to look at the pic within the camera app the picture doesnt rotate at all according to how I hold the camera.
So any ideas for whats causing this would be appreciated.
The stock camera app only supports landscape.

I noticed if i take any picture's in natural light it's so bright it's almost completely white, the screen the exposure setting's do not seem to make any difference to this issue... happens on stock rom.
any idea's... tried doing a restore (with a md5 mistmatch error). (cwm does not seem to do complete back up's properly).
tried using other camera app's also other rom's (ripper rom).
Is it only front camera?

well ı've been using pa v2.54 before and flashed lots of roms in this 3 months i even flashed official rom went stock but still no luck :/
Really strange even with a new sensor and stock rom isnt working maybe the socket isnt good maybe a problem with the motherboard i dont know i thought it might have been a rom problem maybe the people here had a similar issue and they might help i wish you luck and i hope you find a fix

thanks if it was due to the socket im guessing that the speaker and the headphone jack would also not respond... but yeah its a minor issue but really annoying
So I realized if I unplug the sensors the reading will still continue bounce between 4500-5000 lux so im guessing its not an issue of the sensor itself there should be something else... Right?.. Please back me up can be it be caused by the drivers of the sensors ?
And i found this (last post) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1446005&nocache=1
Yes that picture in the last post could be it it could be a motherboard problem like that just be careful if you dont know what your doing

Hi Guys,
I've experienced that Z1 has a very low flash-light when compared to other phones like nexus 4. I've tried many flash-light applications but even though issue isn't resolved. When capturing image using camera app the flash-light is giving much brighter light but if i use it as torch the flas-light is very low. Did anyone experience this issue? Please help.
I am using this flashlight app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ch.smalltech.ledflashlight.free
It goes like this: after i start the app the led is powered on, then i push the power button of the phone so i do not accidentally type anything on the touchscreen (this way the phone is locked).
Here comes the interesting part: when i push the power button in order to wake up the phone (while flashlight is still working - camera led on), for half of a second, the camera led gets brighter than in the normal use of the flashlight app, then it goes back to the initial state (less bright). :-/
What is happening?
Has anyone found a flashlight app for Z1 that provides more light / uses the camera led to its maximum brightness capabilities?
TeslaLED. Same developer as Nova Launcher.

Same here. I think they put the flash light to close to the lens of Z1 and that why the pictures capture to much brightness in wrong time.

It doesn't use max brightness to avoid overheating. If you want a bright flashlight, buy a Surefire. Relying on a phone's camera flash is silly.
Ok. I'll keep that in mind. Thank you.

Hello. I found I'm not the only one with this problem online but I haven't found anybody with a solution so I figured maybe somebody here knows. I first noticed this with Snapchat but it is also the case was Skype or Whatsapp or any app that uses a front facing camera. With you open an app and you have the front facing camera on like Snapchat because it opens automatically with the front facing camera the flashlight doesn't work that part is understandable. The issue is after you close the app, like even if you force close snapchat completely, the flashlight continues not to work, the tile is completely disabled. If you try to use a different app as a flashlight same problem wont turn on. the only way to get it to work again is to open your camera app or a back facing camera app and then close it and then the flashlight works again(or i suppose reboot the phone) . Did anybody happen to have a solution to this problem? It appears to be unique to the Razer phone 2 from things I've read online and from it working fine on other phones including the first razor that I had.
same, not heard of full solution.
