[TWEAK/MOD] GODlike tweak - HTC First

Hey everyone. I've been recently cleaning out my PC and my android folder took up roughly 12 gigabytes, but as i was going through it i ran across an old mod i used on my old LG. I looked it up on Google and seems like the tweak has been deleted or discontinued therefore i cannot give credit to whom ever made it. But, basically its a .zip you flash and it supposed to save you alot of battery life and improve performance and add a bit more butter to jellybean. I've tried it and seems to not work. Maybe someone could tinker with it and see what they can do...i just get 'failed' from twrp.
You're free to use it. BUT
I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF THIS BREAKS YOUR PHONE, CAUSES THERMONUCLEAR WAR OR YOU GET FIRED FROM WORK BECAUSE YOUR PHONES ALARM CLOCK DIDN'T GO OFF.
This is just standard procedure guys, i hope it doesn't break anyones phone because mine didn't break. Enjoy

it's from @[email protected] that's who the credits go to.
and it's from here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1353903

[Q] Do you find yourself changing ROMs every couple of days?

I must admit I do it often. With so many ROMs out there is like being a kid in a candy store. my 8gb sd card is maxing out with nandroid backups! arghh!!!
You have ORD then
Deffo ORD. A hopeless case sadly, beyond saving.
You could try going into recovery to see if that helps*
*That was a test. If you reached for your phone and booted into CWM then there is NO helping you. If you took 'Recovery' to mean a support group then there may be some hope yet!
It's called ORD.
Welcome to, the dark side.
MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
nah this is absolutely normal ... the reason i change roms every week is the fact every single one has one or two bugs in it that make my normal lifestyle and well being completely impossible ...
Can anyone mention, which rom has the best battery life and speed ??

Just as a word of advice...avoid asking that. You'll most likely either get chewed out or get the same answer every time....you'll know what that answer is right away. Not trying to get on your case, just a fair warning.
-If ignorance is bliss why aren't you smiling?-
Yeah I find myself doing that. I've already done it four times today. What I don't like is all the times I have to reinstall all my apps. :/
It annoys me too the way I lose unread texts while I'm flashing a new ROM.
I also have some weird strange thing, where when I change ROM's it'll resend all the texts I've sent that day. I quite like annoying people when I do that tbh.

I've used it before... Don't like the way you had to keep clicking install and open with every app. I use MyBackup Pro and it uses the market links to install them. Doesn't always work though.

If you get the paid version of titanium backup up you can run batch operations.
And I flash so many times a day I lose count, all ways feel like I need to be running the latest and greatest.

No cant say i do but certainly for the first 6 months or so when i joined this forum i used to be a bit of a ROM flashing addict, been using Sergio Coredroid now since January and that's the longest ive gone without flashing anything else.
i am a flashoholic...everyday i log in just to check if a new rom is out...the longest i've gone without a flash is 4 days...today is the 4th day
Only if I see improvement, I don't care about homes and colors, ill do that on my own

I went 2 weeks without flashing my DZ. It was on 1.72 so I had no root and no ROMs.
Now - (If there are any bloody ROM updates) I flash as they upload.
NANDroid > Flash > Play > Flash > Break > Flash > Play > Flash >Hate > NANDroid Restore.
Yes. If I won't try all of them roms, how should I know I use the best one?!
Yes def get the paid version of titanium. I used to switch like Once a week but I am loving trigger right now. Don't think im going to be switching anytime soon. Still switch kernels left and right tho lol

Thanks for continuing to work on the ROM for this phone. The original OpenZIO ROM by Spz was, and still is, great. It made a pretty limited phone fun to play with. I was afraid that any further development had come to an end. I saw this thread yesterday and flashed my phone last night. Good job. I haven't had time to play with a lot of it yet, but it flashed and worked without a hitch. I have enabled V6 and it seems to be functioning without any problems. I didn't think ahead and use the ROM much before I enabled it, so I can't really tell how much of a difference it has made. Have to play around with it when I get a chance. When I assign a ringtone, user added, to a function going through the music player, the list of sounds I have on my sd card is so faint I can barely read it till I click on one. Not a biggie. Only other thing so far is now when I get a phone call the wrong picture shows up with the caller. Ha. Same thing happened when I flashed the OpenZIO ROM. Ended up deleting all contacts from phone and google and reentering from scratch. Guess I'll try that again. Oh yeh, it seems the home screens are now 5 instead of 4 columns wide. Makes a 4X2 widget off center. Interesting. Thanks again for the work on this ROM and I will let you know what else I find as I use it more.
@glpenguin...thanks for the feedback, i was getting to wonder if anyone used this phone anymore.
Haha..about 5 icons..yea its the launcher...im not totally impressed with it, i was thinking of putting a new one in next update..any suggestions? Maybe QQ launcher?...i see what you mean about the music player or is i cant see..haha..i will look into that, ill pm spzo and see if he cant help me with the contacts changing problem, my gf. has the same problem. Also what settings did you use on the v6 supercharger? I set 256hp aggresive and seems like it helps alot with multi tasking...ill try and have an update in a few days, with things fixed and some more goodies.

Still a lot of us using the ZIO. Before long I'll be stepping up to the new Mercury. Had to use all of my "play" money a couple of weeks ago to fix my work truck, so wasn't able to get it when it released Monday as I planned. Oh well. I have really enjoyed playing with the ZIO. It is my first Android phone. Moved up to it from a couple of windows phones I had flashed from Sprint (old provider) to Cricket. I am using the same settings in V6 and it seems to be running very stable. Don't jump ship on the launcher just yet. It seems to be stable also and so far is pretty quick. I just discovered (probably always could) that I can resize the widgets by clicking on them and dragging the side out. So my 4X2 Fancy Widget is now spanning the whole page. Yea. As far as the contact pics goes, I don't believe it's a problem with the ROM. When happened originally, did a lot of searching and it wasn't an unusual problem with other android phones. I think it has something to do with the way google stores the contact information. Flash the phone, your contacts gone. Re sync with google, your previous contacts are restored (pictures correct in contact list) but when someone calls in the wrong picture is displayed. Lot of people have complained on different phones. It's a pain but delete and re enter is only way I got it to work in the past. Like I said, thanks again for keeping this phone alive. Especially since you don't even have to use this thing. Ha. And thank your girlfriend for her patience from all of us. Without her phone to let you experiment, we would be slowly sinking into the boredom of using a low end phone with no hope of being dazzled again like the original OpenZIO ROM did for us. Good Luck.
Okay..making real good progress with the update...still have a few more things to get done..ill try and have it done by tomorrow.

What did you do after the root?

So, as most of you know a root for the AHD came out yesterday. I wanted to say thank you to everyone that worked hours and hours on getting the root, even though Dan gets the money lol. But there are many new comers to android out there, including myself. Coming from the iphone I can tell you everything you can do once you jailbreak and iDevice, but what all have you guys done after you rooted your device. I have owned one android and played around for a while on many, but most of which were completely unlocked and had new roms installed ect. ect. So I thought it would be a good idea for people to be able to post what all they have used the root for so far, so maybe we can use those ideas and make this phone even more awesome.
The first thing I did do was calibrate my battery and have noticed a little bit better life today than I do most days.
I also uninstalled some of AT&T's annoying bloatware (which IMO belongs on NO phone)
So share what you did and give some ideas to all the readers!!!
Thanks again Dan for the root and I know Matt worked for hours and hours on it, so I would like to thank you too

Changed boot animation
Gave already owned apps root permissions to do things like one touch reboot, auto dpi changing.
And right now I'm working on changing the color of my softkeys

Lol I was thinking the same thing. The EB40 is an awesome upgrade and I def considering it. I just am at home and work where my phone can be charged all of the time anyways. Not to mention once we get some bloat free roms that run more efficiently, the EB20 should be okay.

Tablet UI for AOSP/CM10.1 discussion

XDA member AuxLV is working on an app called Tabletizer. It's an apk that does the conversion by creating a flashable zip file on your device which you then flash in the recovery.
[APP] Tabletizer Alpha 4 (2013.03.02)
I've tried this one and it works well.
There are some other roms/patches that do have a Tablet UI option:
[PATCH] True Tablet UI (Apps+GUI) w/o DPI Change for Stock & CM10 - Update Oct11
[ROM][WIFI][CM10.1][Feb27] BeatMod CrystalClear v2.1 | Aroma | TabletUI | Sound Mods
PARANOIDANDROID 3.0 (4.2.2) | Only Rom on Android capable of Hybrid mode
Please add links to other solutions and projects or status updates, and keep general talk about TabletUI in this thread unless new a new one is created.
I updated my G+ with current status.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk HD
I am very interested in this as my posts in the CM 10.1 "official" thread should have made clear, but being as I'm not a developer I can't do much but sit around and hope someone with more talent than I have is capable of making it a reality. I understand that Google has decided to "move on" and just flat out give up on the tablet UI - which is odd considering it's a tablet device we're using with the Nexus 7 and not a damned phone, even so - but that's their prerogative I suppose.
For the moment I'll use Paranoid Android 3.0 when aaron is able to get a 4.2.2 build out, he's currently working on it as noted in his thread last night but it's not available just yet. I was using PA 3.0 with 4.2.1 and found it very useful for many reasons, the tablet UI functionality being the primary one.
The Nexus 7 I have is actually damaged (hence it being a $25 craigslist special) with a crack in the upper right hand corner where the previous owner had dropped it - there's a triangular area in the upper right hand side that doesn't respond to touch anymore, kinda funky how it lines up but, with PA and that tablet UI functionality it's not a real issue because I can hold the menu soft key and it'll bring up the settings for any given app anyway.
If I have to choose a specific ROM I tend to go back to "pure" CM whenever possible so, if someone can actually get the tablet UI functional in 10.1 (based on 4.2.2 at this point) I'm all for it. If not, then PA will fill the ROM role for me.
I remember seeing them introduce Honeycomb and was blown away with the interface layout and the functionality, and now they've basically just swept all that out like yesterday's garbage and I really wish I knew why. It's like seeing demos of versions of Windows that never end up being actually made into workable products - there are videos on YouTube of test versions of Windows Longhorn which was scrapped and then reborn as Vista and some of the stuff they do in those Longhorn videos is beyond cool, seriously.
Android showed some "beyond cool" capability with Honeycomb and a proper tablet UI, now it's like that stuff was a mistake or something and I completely disagree on that respect. But then again, I do understand Google's attempts at unifying the Android interface across all devices instead of having something for phones and then something for tablets, what now with ChromeOS trying to gain traction as well.
Suffice to say if someone can make it possible with CM then fantastic, if not then I'll make do with whatever I suppose. Would be nice, however...
I just want to make sure my app is of top quality, I failed two updates for LagFix when I wanted to make them quick, that will never happen again.

My hero!!!!
Well done on alot of good work.
I will have to be honest that I like the quick settings menu in combo with the notifications drop down. And I like the way the navigation bar is by default.
But the thing I like about the Honeycomb style ui is the settings menu. I guess compared to stock Jellybean, that might be the only thing I like alot (Just to be clear, I did not dislike other aspects). The Honeycomb notifications tray just seemed to add additional screen pressed for functions now contained within the quick settings menu.
But, still. Good job changing the ui. Its not an easy thing to do. I tried to do some changes for personal use, and seemingly small changes completely crash the system to an unusable state.

Hey aux, where will you be posting this app? Id love to test it
First alpha as promised!
Before using: BACK UP!!!
Using:
Launch app
Click "Run tabletizer"
Wait for a few minutes
It will create update.zip file in /sdcard/data/tabletizer/temp
Flash this update.zip from CWM/TWRP recovery
Reboot
App is quite unstable at the moment, because recompilation process eats a lot of RAM and it crashes often when runs out of memory. I'm rewritting smali tool to be more friendly, but it will take some time to finish.
Thank you for your app! I ran the apk, it started the process and got to these last 3 lines:
Services are patched!
Can not recompile.
Compilation exception.
Now it hasn't done anything for 10 minutes. I'll wait a bit longer and try again.

Firstly, hello! This is my first post, I have been lurking a while but now finally I have something worthwhile to say.
I had a go at it but since this is my first try at porting anything and my first attempt at anything phone related it didn't go exceptionally well.
I managed to get the code to compile and boot so I am pretty proud of that.... but nothing much worked.
The fonts were all messed up, mostly unreadable, the WiFi didn't work, sounds didn't work and radio didn't work.
I can tell you that it was smooth and looked pretty (even with messed up fonts).
I got tired of messing around with it so I haven't done anymore with it since. Even though its rubbish I though someone might want to have a play with it so here is a link to the zips [Can't post links, sorry]
Remember to do a full nandroid backup and copy it off your phone just in case. Wipe cache, wipe dalvic, flash cm-10.1-20130728-Ubuntu-Touch-i9305.zip then raring-preinstalled-phablet-armhf.zip.
If you know how to get any of these issues fixed up, let me know and I might have another go at it.
I'd have no idea what to do with this seeing as I've been strictly just rooting and install custom Rom's and mods. But I'd like to see a port of Ubuntu Touch to the I9305 as well, there's already someone working on the I9300 so maybe you can have a look there.

However if someone would point me in the starting direction and wouldn't mind giving me some tips and advice along the way I wouldn't mind having a go at it.
Just remember I'm self taught completely on these sort of things and haven't even really started on this area at all.

the only thing I can say is : WAIT a few months and it will be published by someone !!
I don't mind someone else doing it, I'm just throwing my self in the deep end trying to learn as much as I can.
It wasn't t about wanting it now, although it would be nice. It was more a way for me to try my hand at something.
