Hi guys. I've noticed ever since I got the Xperia z1 that the Xperia home launcher acts weird after quitting certain applications.
When I exit an application to go to the homescreen, all apps shortcuts and widgets would have disappeared and would then begin to load up after 2 seconds. Which sucks of a phone with such a highest spec.
Is this a ram issue which isn't keeping the home launcher in RAM memory?
Of a 2 GB ram, I always have only about 250 MB free. I don't know what's taking the ram up so much.
Anything I can do?

Which rom are you on and what apps have you got running in the background?
250mb? Are you kidding me? I have 700-850mb free ram typically

I aint using any custom rom.
My bootloader is locked, not rooted and I am on the. 290 (4.3)
The ram is surprising. Most of my apps are using 58mb, 30mb, 20mb and lower. But i still have about 1350mb in use at times. No games on background.

I would recommend reverting back to 4.2.2 .257 Stock rom,
I tried 4.3 .290, it gobbles way too much ram, no idea why.
I'm waiting for Kitkat 4.4 before I upgrade the rom.

Honestly I think I will do same. Reverting back to. 257 for now.
Still smooth anyways.

I too had redraws the last few days, and remembered that i didnt had them in the beginning. Started to think what could caused it and thought what was changed...
I went to Settings-Developers options and unchecked "Dont keep activities".
No redraw, checked it and there it was again.
sent from a Rooted & Unlocked Xperia Z1
The redraw could be a problem in the Sony launcher it self, I had the same problem with Action Launcher, but now is solved.
The way Android uses RAM, the free ram doesn't mean anything, to get a better performance avoiding to compile an app you use very often, Android keeps recent opened apps in RAM as long as the RAM is not needed, when something else claims the RAM Android will "close" some apps to free RAM.

Może masz jakieś restrykcje związane z Operatorem? Ja mam w plusie i bez problemu widzę apkę.
Maybe you have restrictions related to the operator?
i'm too using Xperia T from PlusGsm..
Main question
is this app require JB?
My Xperia T comes from Orange Pl, locked bootloader, google play says it's not available for my device, though i downloaded the apk from the forum, anyone mind telling me how long does the learning of usage process lasts? after almost entire day it's still learning.
I've been using it for a few days but I did uninstall it yesterday due to bad battery drain after the last update, I emailed the devs and got this reply....
" thanks for your feedback. We have tested this today and we are finding a problem on this device, our testing is showing that the BatteryGuru Wi-Fi Management feature is somehow causing problem on that particular device with that version of Android. For now we recommend disabling the Wi-Fi management option in the BatteryGuru settings. We’re investigating at the moment and expect to have resolution next week.

Thanks again,

I've now reinstalled it to give it another go but my battery is struggling at the moment I made a backup of it with "App Backup & Restore" from the market before I uninstalled it yesterday, lucky I did because now it's showing that it's not available for the T, so I'm guessing that they have found the issue and are hopefully going to fix it and re release it to us

Location-based Wi-FI is system apps of the the 2012 Xperia. I recommend turning off the Wi-Fi Management, too. Maybe that is cause of the crashes.

Good idea, but I never had the location based WiFi working, on first release the app was working normally, no extreme battery problems, then on it's first update it went mad so who knows ?
Anyway I've uninstalled it again now, battery life was just to bad for me

I am starting to regret my decision to upgrade to KitKat 4.4.2
My Z1 C6906 was almost flawless but now there are major issues:
BATTERY DRAIN- The phone is running down at a much faster rate then before the upgrade.
CAMERA FREEZE- The camera takes longer to startup and often locks up right after initializing. This is random but very annoying.
There are also various minor issues but I would appreciate any suggestions on how to fix the two major ones first.
We know that, we love that, we know that, we love that. ..lol..
No fix for that...
We all know Sony is using different parts in their phones (lcd, memory chip's and obviously many more parts) and "half" of devices are working great on 757 (like mine) and "half" of them are working...well not so great on same firmware...
Sony is preparing new update but I really doubt they could fix something like that...
I mean...if you have lousy screen or digitizer that's something software can't fix - it could make ut a bit better but it'll never fix it to work without problems...
I'm reading all that threads where guys like you posting all their problems and I could be very happy with my luck...
I have had three Xperia devices and all were extremely good...
I would never buy anything except Sony...
I'm buying phones only from t-mobile (if I want locked bootloader) or in Tele2 if I need unlocked.
Never online (clove, ebay...) and never used...

Nope, I'm on NUT ROM 757, deodexed and rooted.
I keep brightness up to 70% ( between 60-70% when I'm out) when I'm out (I have to, can't see the screen otherwise) and on 20-30% at night and I'm always getting between 25-30 hours of battery life plus 5.5-7h of screen time...

Wat the Hell? Something have to be wrong with my hardware! Max 4 hrs.
I don't know if this is exactly the right place for this however I love this phone but there seems to be no support for modified kernels. Without a modified kernel it seems that adjusting the CPU frequency seems to be overwritten everytime on a rooted phone. I took a crash course in creating a kernel and implementing a few changes and I am currently running it on my phone now once it last a day or two I might go ahead and put it up here so that people can actually try it out. But in the meantime I will host how I was able to get the frequency scaling to work and increase the battery life while still making it very responsive. Unfortunately it will have to wait until I get home because I am at work however I am very happy with what I have done and it seems to be the fastest I have got this phone to go and still ridiculous battery life, it even seems a little snappier than my brothers galaxy note 4. Stay tuned for instruction
Looking forward to this man, thanks.

ok first unless you somehow have the much sought after keys to unlock the bootloader you DID NOT FLASH ANY CUSTOM KERNEL to an AT&T G870A
or
You do not have a G870A but rather an international or otherwise version of the phone.

About 10 mins agoMy battery was 60% off charger and shutted down. I plugged the charger and turned it on. It became 17%. I just opened xda on taptalk and wrote this topic, then suddenly noticed it became 88% and charging very faster than usual. It's 88% and says 4 mins until full charge.
Now after writing this it stopped at 95% saying 2 mins until full charge

Did you try to flash a .ftf file with flashtool? I'd give it a try, backup your data first, and make sure to completely wipe it
OK I'll try that as soon as possible, But now I don't have enough time to do that. I will probably do it after two weaks because currently I am having some exams.
Is their another solution that doesn't take much time to test/try until then?
Thanks Jimmy for replying

There is nothing like something stopped working or app affecting the phone as I tried it with clean stock system.
OK luckily I didn't remove my first backup after I did the pcc, so no need to backup again. I will try with the flash tool when the ftf download complete.

Hello. I just joined in here and I'm sorry if this in incorrect topic. I figured this is the best place to seek answers.
I have Samsung S4 Active GT-I9295 (obviously, otherwise I wouldn't post this in here) and I've recently experienced some minor lag and such in it. I have rooted it about six months ago and removed all the bloatware I didn't need, only sparing some of the apps I know I use. Now here's the thing: my space (16GB version) is almost full at all times, preventing me from using the camera and adding new music and apps because of this. I do have a memory card but that's almost full too and there are not that many apps that I can move in there. I'm figuring that the stock ROM is hogging most of the space. Even though it's rooted, it doesn't allow me to download any updates for apps and even if I manage to remove something that frees some of the space necessary to update, Google Play doesn't update. It just notifies me "updating <APP_X>" and stays there for who knows how long. Sometimes it stays there for half an hour, sometimes even two days. Yeah, no joking here. After the notification goes away, it states that <APP_X> has a new update.
So, are there any custom roms FOR GT-I9295 (really emphasizing this because I want to make it clear) that use Lollipop 5.0.1? I would really like to download a custom rom but I'm not that fond of KitKat version of the roms. And all the custom roms I've found so far are for other versions of S4 Active, which I believe don't work in my phone.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Cheers,
Takkalenkki

A close look at the development section would've found you what you're looking for. The first two threads are for the most popular roms for your phone:
--SuperWiz Cyan 5.0.1 (a Touchwiz-based rom)
--Cyanogenmod 12/12.1 (obviously more AOSP-grounded)
There's also Metallium Rom (another touchwiz-based rom), as well as Pacman Rom and SlimLP which are both based off of CM12. Point being is you definitely have options
Thank you my dear sir! Although I searched for about two hours I was unable to find any of those roms you linked. I'm gonna give those a shot this coming weekend!
