So I'm on Hot Boot 1.55 and Revone achieved to s-off 1.55.
I just wanted to know if my internal would be touched because I cannot for the life of me lose any of my pics/music/ etc.
Just curious to know cuz a back up would take about 2 hours of my time so if it isn't necessary to back anything up cuz the internal doesn't get wiped then I'm golden! But if it does...
And also I only have a Mac. Does revone work with Mac? And/or is there Another s-off tool that is compatible with Mac.?
revone will not work with hboot 1.55
As far as I know there are no s-off exploits that work with a mac...you could most likely use a virtual machine not sure if it will though
ahhh

So sorry . noobish mistake. I meant rumrunner
From this link here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2496687
While doing s-off is the internal memory wiped? Like unlocking the bootloader?

Rumrunner does not wipe your sdcard...but you have to have an unlocked bootloader and be rooted for rumrunner to work.

Hi, imade le latest Ota update for my Htc one and now i'm s-on and relocked and tempered and my hboot is 1.54 revone doesn't work in this case.
Is there anyway to downgrade hboot 1.54 to 1.44 with s-on of course?
Thanks a lot.
Unlock, flash a custom ROM and see if that works
I've not heard of an OTA that patches the exploit
Or try moonshine
There is no way to downgrade without bricking your device

Hey,
TIME is the solution
Wait till revone team strikes back
If you cant, only one option is left, unlock by htcDEV(you may lose system apps)
Root and then with root,
Revone works perfect

Does the S-OFF Moonshine method work with 1.54 HBOOT (As I see revone doesn't)? I'd like to change my CID as I really miss having the official English Google Keyboard in my Google Edition ROM however it keeps saying

You can if you've got hboot 1.44 but not with 1.54..... HTC closed the exploit with the updated firmware.
If you're s-off with 1.44 then upgrading the firmware won't lose you s-off.

Is it possible to downgrade your HBOOT? I'm guessing not but thought I'd ask! I also read everywhere that's its pretty risky and probably not worth it.

Even if you managed to once you rebooted the phone it would essentially brick, and to boot the new hboot you need to reboot.
Just going to have to wait

Apologies if this is a noob question or has been answered before, but I just ran the RUU and I retained S-off and my bootloader was still unlocked afterwards. Is this suppose to happen?
I'll try and make this short: I had HBOOT 1.44 (S-off with revone and HTC Dev unlocked). I saw OMJ's thread with newer firmwares and a 4.06.651.4 RUU. I flashed the firmware, verified everything worked still, and ran the RUU (for peace of mind). RUU was successful but the fastboot screen still shows the pink ***UNLOCKED*** text and S-OFF message. Current HBOOT is 1.56.

hmm, i might have to try this later on...i was concerned it might relock or i might have to lock but i guess not?(ive been trying to search and find out but i think you answered my question lol)
Once S-OFF, always S-OFF, unless you write the secureflag to be S-ON again.

Good to know, thanks. I was under the impression that an RUU totally resets a device but I guess not. It saved me having to s-off/unlock/root again :victory:

Yes you have to do a FASTBOOT RELOCK COMMAND to make the phone secure. You can also use root linux to disguise the bootloader/Hboot to make it appear S-ON if you choose. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2565201
Hi,
Here is the situation.. I have an HTC One..
the hboot is still on 1.44 with s-on.
I want to flash the latest firmware, which is only possible with s-off.. problem is that I'm running a 4.4.2 ROM and trying revone throws an error as the ROM doesn't match the hboot.
Is there anyway I can get s-off easily? or do I have to hunt down a 4.1.2 ROM and flash that before trying to update the firmware?
You can try firewater
I had the same situation, trying to S-OFF with HBOOT 1.44. I was able to get revone's method to work.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2314582
The only issue I ran into is at step 4
4. Prepare to gain S-OFF by running the command: ./revone -P

It wouldn't work without root. I used firewater's temp root and it worked perfectly. I did not need my bootloader unlocked or my device rooted.

firewater was the first one I tried cause I'm accustomed to using it with the 1.55 and 1.56 hboot..
didn't work on this run.. and revone keeps failing..
Thinking i'll relock the bootloader and flash the stock ruu with the latest firmware and see if that gets me up to hboot 1.56 and then unlock the bootloader and try firewater again..
any thoughts on this procedure before I try it?

I would try a 4.1.2 rom before you wipe your device with the RUU.

Thanks guys.. managed to find a copy of ARHD 9.4
gave a little trouble to flash.. but finally got through with it and revone s-off worked perfectly after that.
Thanks for the assistance.
I have one HTC One M8 Sprint (Non HK version). presently it has android 4.4, S-ON, sim unlocked, rooted, twrp.
i want to install lolipop rom on it. kindly guide me how to proceed with all requirements step by step. and which lolipop rom is good for daily use.
thanks
We can't. Sunshine doesn't seem to work anymore to gain s-off do we are screwed until someone that doesn't support a paywall figures out how to be able to gain s-off so we can flash the RUU.
I hate this damn phone and I wish I knew how to develop myself.

Our phones don't come s-off so why would they need to be s-off to RUU?
Beats me. I tried the external sd method. Fastboot method. Changed my CID. nothing works.

Plenty of other people have successfully RUU'd their phones while S-on. It does require an extra step but it can be done. Also, as far as S-off with Sunshine, I believe the latest version (3.0) is compatible with Lollipop.
To the OP: Hit the second link in my sig. Scroll down to the RUU section and take a read. A link to OMJ's RUU thread can be found at the bottom of the first post of my thread. Download the latest applicable RUU (4.25.651.14 for NON-HK or 4.25.654.14 for the HK version). Follow my instructions in my thread to run the RUU on your device.

External sd method = needs s-off so won't work for s-on users.
Fastboot method = most RUU's are exe files so most likely won't work via fastboot method.
Changed my CID = cannot be done unless you are s-off.

But I thought if you are s-on you cannot go backwards to an older hboot version. I thought you had to be s-off if you wanted to go backwards?

You do have to be s-off to go backwards, but just to RUU s-off is not required
Are you by chance using a computer, not to be a ****, but like what are some of the results and we can try to help you with using the RUU... Sometimes they are touchy and need to be done in an exact way...and patience is key
