Flash official HTC RUU back on your phone
I have exactly the same problem...
I tried formatting the nand flash, seems to work.
(Vol down + enter + reset, then vol down)
(Note that you will loose all data on internal storage, too...)

Newbie needs help !

Hi all
Hope someone on here can help with this
Just got the SGS and i updated the firmware to I9000XXjM1 via Kies which all seem to go well until i rebooted my phone and now it just comes up with errors (you know the one in a blue box saying Sorry unexpected error) everytime i try to run an app ! Ive tried a factory reset via the one in privacy settings and the one on boot up by holding volume key, home and power but neither have any affect what so ever.
So i had some help over on samsunggalaxysforums.com to reflash the phone which i have done but still no joy its still exactly the same as before the reflash but the strangest thing is that the phone is still exactly the same as before the reflash i.e its still got all the apps that i installed, still got wallpapers i downloaded, still trying to sign into facebook, its as though the reflash hasn't done anything
Completely baffled now !!
Would really appreciate some help
Thanks in advance
Anyone ?

the vulnerable recovery is not listed for regions but for bootloaders version!
Boot into your bootloader ( Turn off your phone--> hold dpadUP+Power Button)
Let me know the version of the bootloader...I may be able to help!
edit...clicked wrong post
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App

Hi, my bootloader version is 80.89. I'm also using Milestone XT720. Could you help me find the proper vulnerable recovery flash file?

Yes...you can always go back to factory settings by flashing a stock sbf file...As long as you can boot into the bootloader
is hard reset like flashing?
on windows mobile, if i mess up, hard reset goes back to stock. even if it stuck on logo

[Q] Can't enter download or recovery mode

I have tried every combination possible...
What I have in my hands is a I9000 that doesn't open since it's locked.Actually when my brother found it, someone had already tried all possible patternt codes and now it asks for the email of the owner to unlock it...Since I can't find him I'm trying to hard reset it but I can't.No combination works when it's off...Either to put it to download mode and flash through odin or in recovery mode to select to wipe all...
Judging from the statusbar it must be running 2.1 or 2.2...Got any ideas?
Hi,
did you try one of these tricks:

Pierre.
The thing is I just want to format it...But I can't do it

I9000 - factory reset intended, but recovery asks for PW then?

Hello,
found an old i9000 in a friend's "electronic trash" box. No SIM or SD card in there, phone still working (boots into PIN enter screen).
Now I wanted to toy around with it, see what custom ROMs can do to that old beauty - but upon entering recovery mode (Vol+, Home, Power) and selecting the "Factory reset" option, I get asked for a PW. All the tutorials on how to hard reset the phone never showed the PW request - is there some way to bypass it? I would hate to discard a phone that is 100% good from the hardware side of things -
thank you very much in advance,
Mirrorblade

Thank you - that actually did not help, as I still needed to enter that password on rebooting.
But when crawling the web for the exact "confirm password" phrase, I found the solution:
"Just enter the PW wrong four times, that will cause the data to be deleted". Did it for me, then
