INTRODUCTION
Been having fun using the Google Key Lime Pie keyboard?
This is something I came across accidentally earlier today and I've noticed that I couldn't find any sort of thread or discovery of this recent addition but please forgive me if this was already found.
Because as you may know, the Google Keyboard always had a hidden theme chooser in a app activity called the "Android keyboard Debug settings" but it appears that this section was quite recently changed.
I personally wanted to go back to ICS keyboard myself and as I knew this secret so I took a visit to the intent which previously to me had options for themes such as, Stone (Normal), Stone (Bold), Gingerbread and Ice Cream Sandwich.
But I was surprised as I hit theme because the default (selected) selection on our 4.4.2 OS was named KeyLimePie (after the original 4.4 android name)
Currently I have only one device at hand so I cannot confirm the legitimacy of this but my setup is as follows :
- Latest Google Keyboard Version
- Standard Stock Based 4.4.2 KitKat based ROM build
- Device : Hammerhead (Nexus 5)
How-to.
There are two methods I'm aware of accessing an activity of an application, however to make it easy I will show a simple method which is possible due to one of our beloved launchers.
For this method I will Use Nova Launcher's Activity list.
Simply
1.Install Nova
2.Go to homescreen.
3.Long press screen, select Shortcuts then activities.
4.Go down to Google keyboard and select the Debug Options

Key Lime Pie is the default theme you have selected when using the Google keyboard, I had this written in the introduction. I had my keyboard theme just switched when taking the screenshot.

I'd doubt that, android versions generally release in and about each year of difference and KitKat is still quite recent. Also they followed the alphabet as follows. Donut>Eclair>Froyo>Gingerbread>Honeycomb>IceCreamSandwich>Jellybean>KitKat (Originally called Key Lime Pie)
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
If you decompile google keyboard you will notice couple of lines there in xmls (gb for gingerbread, ics for icecream and klp for KitKat - i would say google was lazy to correct this stuff. Nothing to see here really, its just a name missmatch, common for google.

The differences I see are that ICS has blue accent color, KLP has white accent color and GB has orange accent color.
Thanks for the tip OP, I'm going with ICS!

What Is Black Exodus?
Black Exodus is a theme that aims to bring the darkest and most minimal UI experience for your ICS/Jellybean ROM. After porting the Black Android Theme over to the SGS2 nearly a year ago I decided that I would like to create a new theme for myself with only 1 aim which was to make it minimal looking and also dark. As most of you know this also saves a little battery. The theme became quite successful when I release it for ICS so I figured why wait until the CM10 theme chooser? Lets get back to flashable ZIPs!
What do I need to run this theme?
-Legolas93's CM Build 6 (will work on JellyBro once gearheadcustoms release it)
-At least 1 brain cell to use CWM/TWRP or whatever
-Manners (They cost nothing)
So far what's themed?
21/7/2012
-Launcher2
-Notification Widgets
20/7/2012
-Intial Release
-Framework-res
-SystemUI
-Calculator
-MMS
-BootAnimation

How do I install this?
-Download the theme.zip from the downloads section below
-Put it on your SD Card (You only have one)
-Reboot into recovery (Do I really need to explain it further?)
-Go to 'Install from SD Card'
-Select the theme.zip
-Bazinga! (That means done)

I have your them installed, but the one from the beta 5 build - and I think its perfect.
My criticisms are for the pictures in the OP. I don't like that the pull down toggles are themed. The reason is that every other icon on the phone has sharp edges, but now that theyre themed they are inconsistent.
Also icons shouldn't be themed. The reason for this is that you will never be able to theme every icon. Inevitably everyone will use one app with a non back icon and again, there will be inconsistencies.
My advice (and what I would do if I had anywhere near the ability you do) is stick to stock whenever possible. Take it or leave it

I am going to laugh my ass off when everyone is proved wrong by that not being 4.4...
As I mentioned on G+ that keyboard pic is before KitKat was announced with a KLP debugging icon and 4.3 icons. The new pic with REVISED AND UPDATED (read, not wrong) icons and new clock font comes with a new KitKat debugging icon...
Sad to say ever since that one guy, Ron I think, left AP has put out some real crap...

Wow, it must be fake. New UI cannot be that ugly.
These can't be fake. Take this from someone who has spent a great deal of time designing. The level of quality on each of those icons and the overall aesthetics is not something that was done just for a hoax.
Edit: Removed status bar icons from discussion. On closer inspection I have no idea why they are red. But I don't believe that is their final colour.

Could be, but that photo Google uploaded on Play for their keyboard and later they removed it.
This may be documented somewhere else in this thread, but I haven't seen it. So I figured I'd tell you how to access a hidden bonus item on your Android KitKat Device.
1. In Setttings > About Phone.
2. Tap on - 'Android Version 4.4' very rapidly 3 times and it will take you back to your home screen with a big letter 'K' embossed on the center of the screen.
3. If you tap the K it spins around. 6 fast taps take you to another image. The new Android Logo.
4. Enjoy.

I cannot wait to get my hands on the blue version. Good work!
BLUE/LIME/PINK version is released. Only tested on xhdpi.
Hdpi may look different i cant test. Also likely wont support it

Installed, then updated my TouchPal (as there was an update today) and now it crashes when I go to change a theme Will keep tryin'!
android.content.res.Resources$NotFoundException: File res/drawable-nodpi/skin_preview.png from drawable resource ID #0z7f02012b
I uninstalled your theme and the error stopped happening.
I am running CM 7 (GB 2.3.7) with Xposed Framework 2.6.1-gb-p6 on a HTC Desire Bravo, if that helps.

I updated it, its running OK.
From the error I think I know how to fix it.
Just have to add a preview image.

Did you fix the error and upload? I can't wait to try this
Just install and select it while the keyboard is on screen instead of going into settings

the blue one looks good :good:
Thanks for the feedback.
Does anyone have any issues?
Also:
I released this theme for free to share with you lot on here.
But TouchPal themselves contacted me and gave me a Giftcard for Amazon.
Said they were impressed and waited to give me something back.
Another reason to use TouchPal.

maybe because they knew those themes they made are ugly enough to stop people to use their app

There is no indication as to what key I have just pushed. Combined with the fact that my touchscreen is very sensitive and registers false pushes, this can get very annoying when typing in passwords.
Maybe some kind of visual indicator when I push a key? I'm sure the stock TouchPal theme had this?

What device are you using it on? I can't test hdpi devices, could you provide a screen shot!
