Upgraded to 4.3, can't open some apps now - Xperia Z1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, first of all thank you for taking the time to read this.
I downloaded and installed the 4.3 update for my Sony Xperia Z1 a few days ago and since have not been able to open some of my apps, they open to a white screen and nothing happens. They previously worked before I updated.
The apps I'm having a problem with are:
- Traffic Racer (boots to white screen with Google+ game login logo)
- Subway Surfers (boots to white screen with Play button)
- Jelly - I know it's a new app but I would have thought it would be compatible with the latest version?
Thanks for any help guys.

Did u try to go into settings...apps and delete data and cache and see will that fix it..

if delete data and cache will not fix your problem it's recommended after an update to make a Factory Reset. Try it as well.

Can't get latest Market

Hi there, i bought a Nexus S to replace the Xperia X10, and i notice that i can not update the market, i am stuck at 2.3.6.
i went to apps managemet and uninstalled the "updates" and clear the data for the market app but it doesn't work, it keep downloading the 2.3 version instead of the 3.1 version.
In the X10 the market updates correctly so it is not a country related problem.
any ideas???
Download the apk yourself and install it

I wish I could keep the old market. The new one is slow, laggy, having strange bug of it wanting to attach itself to another Gmail I have, and I have no need for books or movies.
If I pull the new out and install old, the new one updates all by itself. I don't know he it's possible to keep the market from updating itself.
Look under /system/app for MarketUpdater.apk and either delete it or change the permissions to 000.
Then go to manage applications and uninstall market update.
Your market will now stay the same

As far as the market goes.....
Make sure you have the MarketUpdater.apk in /system/app. Also clear try clearing data for the market under settings-->applications-->manage applications
And for the software updates....
What version do you have? Because not all models and carriers are at the same software build number.
i haven't rooted the phone, and it is stock.
i am the only one with this problem???
my phone is factory unlocked and it is a i9020a phone.
Its not a "problem". The update isn't instantly pushed to all phones right away. It gets pushed in stages or something to that effect.
Edit:

Download it, put on SD card and install

yes i undesrtand that, but there is a previus version i think is the 3.1.3, and i can't get that version too, and it's released months ago, the strange thing is that i can update to the green version 2.3.1 from the grey one (i don't remenber the version but it's one of the first market available).
3.1.3 was never released to our nexus s
Hi,
I had thesame problem as you are experiencing now. Tried the downloaded version but uninstalled it.
Since this morning i have the official market app.
This is how i got it, maybe it has nothing to do with it but its worth a try.
- go to settings and enable location via.Wifi and cellular
- go to app management and remove cache, app data and the market updates you might have
- in the launcher open market app, accept terms and let it load to home screen
- push home button
- lock your phone for about 15minutes
You should have the new market now. I tried this twice and both times it worked then i disabled the location setting and it didnt work.
Hope this helps you.

@p.pavljasevic, your method confirmed working, I just did mine and got 3.1.5 now.
I stop trying long time ago thinking it might've been not pushed to the phone yet, I just tried it and it worked.

Try fixing permissions or uninstall with titanium pro and reinstall with play store
Also try wiping the data in titanium

Not an ICS issue... got my ICS LPY update over the air a while back, and have had no map problems since.
Easy, go to settings, applications, go to maps an click it, select delete data, try if still crashes. If it does, do delete data again, then uninstall and reinstall from play store. Test again, that should work

same problem
I have exactly the same problem. I have updated my Note from the latest gingerbread to the stock german ICS. After installation was completed I have noticed that Maps are constantly crashing. Google maps will locate my position and try to load map.. Everything is really choppy and after a while app will stop responding altogether and crash.
So.. at first I tough that it may be ICS ROM bug, so I have reverted back to the old ROM. I have wiped out user data, cash, etc.
I have also tried above mentioned method (posted by baz77) of uninstalling app, but nothing has changed.
I searched all over the internet, and found that there are more people suffering from this bug.
Any idea what's going on?? Thanks. I am becoming really desperate..
Fixed.
I followed Baz77's suggestion (adding a cache clear as well) and Maps is now working fine.
It worked, but only for a while. After I have uninstalled updates, removed app data, I was able to make it work. Everything was smooth but after about one minute scrolling became choppy and few second later app stopped responding and crashed. How is it possible that even different ROM didn't help? I tough that when I set "wipe data/factory reset", it would erase all stored system data..
Problem solved
Ok, so this thread can now be officially closed. I have once again uninstalled Maps and it's updates. Because I have done it so many times before, I have completely resigned and stopped wasting my time with it. My phone has run out of juice (guess why), so I left it on charger for several hours. After I have unplugged it, an update notification for Maps pops up. I sad OK to myself.. why not to try it once more.
And to my great surprise, IT WORKED this time. I have no idea WHY, but it just did. Maybe system needed some time to remove registry settings/kill process or something like that. I have restarted Note few times before with no success.
Or maybe Google has made some changes to update file in meantime, but that's unlikely.
Anyway..
Thanks everyone for help. Drinks are on me

[Q] Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000 lag or virus?

Hello there. I'm using my Galaxy Note for almost a year now and I have never had any major problems before. But recently it got extremely laggy. The lags are: system is running normally, but as soon as I get any app running "including original apps such as music player" the system starts to slow down. Some apps kick me out when I try to run them, but after a few tries they work properly without any lags.Have to mention - all apps are running fine, that's the system that extremely slows down after using them, even when I close apps in task manager. *Well, task manager is lagging itself* Some apps such as Facebook widget on my main screen stopped showing latest messages and until I reboot the whole system or clear memory in task manager it won't allow me to enter facebook at all. Whenever I sort my apps in the app screens - after a reboot the system puts them in a random order again. I think that's the only things I found so far. It all started a few days ago after I updated my apps. I deleted all the latest of them I have installed, but it didn't change anything. My phone memory is half empty, I deleted half of my text messages, so I don't think the problem is in a lack of memory. Can You help me out, guys?
I have all the latest updates installed and my a. version is 4.0.4
Sorry for my bad english
probably u need a factory reset.
but don't think it's safe on the stock kernel.
either root install a safe kernel and do a wipe and try again or
download the stock rom and flash it thru Odin.

Big problem with my O2X !

I installed CM10 Look Ma No Hands from pengus on my phone with TWRP, the ROM was working fine, all the buttons too. Then flashed non neon google apps from tonyp for Android 4.2.2, and from now, the home button is not responding. In fact, it vibrate when I press it, but Android does'nt go back to home when I do... It has no effect (but the phone is vibrating when pressing it, so it's not dead).
So, I thought that making a full wipe, and flashing CM10 again without the google apps would fix this issue, BUT no at all ! Actually, now, Google Play, Search and Google Talk are installed after a fresh install (even if I did'nt flash them after flashing the ROM, which is normally free of google apps !)
Why are they still here ? (after a full wipe !) Also, my home button still doesn't respond !
I'm confused ! What is going on, and how to get rid of those google apps ? And getting my home button to work again ?
Thanks !
Managed to fix it myself. How : by chance, I had a backup of an ICS rom, so I restored it, then made a full wipe, and installed again CM10. Result : no google apps, home button working again.
Does anyone know what happened, and HOW google apps can still be there after a full wipe ? Where are they stored ?!
Yea we know what happened. U didnt read first few post that explain how to install it correctly. Go and read it to understand what went wrong

[Solved] Anyone else experiencing crash of The Guardian android app?

Hi,
Since an update in December, the android app of the UK news paper The Guardian is no longer working for me. I have been waiting till now for them to fix the issue but it still crashes after today's update. The error message shown is "Unfortunately, Guardian has stopped, " I want to know if anyone else is experiencing this issue and if there is anyway to prevent it.
Anyone having a GT-i9305 and is on stock kk 4.4.4. Please download it and give me the feedback. Here is the link https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.guardian&hl=en .

Hi
I got this app working once and once only for about 10 minutes, played around with it and exited the app. I now can't get it to work again no matter what I do.
I can confirm I am having this issue too on Jelly Bean 4.3, Samsung Galaxy S3 (I9300)! New phone, not rooted and no crap installed on it, It's driving me insane as I'm not a technophobe. I've tried clearing the cache, clearing data, uninstalling and reinstalling more than once, battery pulls, disabling Google+, wiping cache partition in recovery mode, moving app to SD card... ARGHH!

Try to update it, it should work now, they fixed it. I have an occasional notification "this app is not authorised for billing etc" besides of that it works fine.
