Hello all
I recently put 4.2.11.1 on my G1. Now when I pair my headset with the phone. The audio is still transfered though my phone. Is this a known issue? is there a fix?
Tech Specs
Handset: G1 w/Cyanogen 4.2.11.1
Headset: Samsung WEP470
The headset worked fine with stock 1.6
The headset appears to pair fine, even verified the bluetooth 'button' is selected while in a call. Still audio goes through the handset and not the headset.
This really is my only issue I love cyanogen so far and hope that the Nexus One is cracked fairly soon after release.
I have the exact same issue with a parrot ck2100-bluetooth hansfree, also running latest cyanogen
I've had this issue and other Bluetooth audio problems under the last several CM releases (See http://code.google.com/p/cyanogenmod/issues/detail?id=819). When audio fails to go through the headset as you describe, turning the headset off and then on again often fixes it. If that doesn't help, then turning the headset off, toggling Bluetooth off and then on, and then turning on the headset usually works.
hrmm, hope this can get fixed I may have to abandon Cyanogen. I have to field call via bluetooth when I work from home.
usually this happens once a week for my bluetooth if i keep toggling BT on and off several times (usually do it if i forget my BT headset). easy fix. not a serious problem with me.
like the person above said: just turn toggle BT off then on, it should connect fine. if not, what i do is go through the settings and unpair them and pair, it should connect to the phone's audio. rinse and repeat.
not a serious bug that should keep anyone away from a certain rom... especially Cyans
Yall in the wrong forum ppl
If its an issue concerning Cy's rom go in his thread n follow the link to submite the issue.
If u trying to solve the problem go in Q&A and ask there or CY's thread.
This has nothing to do with development.
moved to Q&A
I am also having this issue.
I am having a parot c3100 and it pairs fine. But the sound is send to my phone instead of over my car audio system.
I tried bluetooth+headphone fix, but that doesn't help either.
It looks like every cyanogen (based) rom does have this issue ....
Does anybody have other ideas to get it fixed ?
I have flashed my nexus one to install cm7.But recently,I cannot use my bluetooth headset button to control the music(poweramp).Any ideas to fix it or any setting problem in it?
Did anyone have similar problem?
Did anyone have similar problem?
Did you try disabling the lockscreen music buttons? Might help.
I have the same problem. when I was on CM7 ROM. I tried all kinds of settings and finally gave up WinAmp.
I recently upgrade to CM7.0.2 and then CM7.0.2.1. In both case, I can Play/Pause & Forward/Rewind using stock headphone. I am not sure if this is phone, headphone or ROM issue. Anyone have the same issue?
Nokia BH-214 & HD2
Hello all, unfortunately I have the same issue with CM7, before CM I had sense build on hd2 and bluetooth controll was all fine.
Now on CM7 bluetooth isn't working at all....
Any ideas?
Just found this thread, mine not working either on CM7.0.3, can any one confirm if this is resolved on later ROMS from CM ?
Stuttering and skipping streaming are very known issues on many jelly bean devices.
The most times when I listen to music in my car, i do this via bluetooth. So it is really annoying me and some day, I will have an accident, while I am fumbling with my HTC One.
I replaced the audio.a2dp.default.so with one of the Nexus 4 (4.2.2) and it just worked well, but only the first time using bluetooth streaming after rebooting the device.
I changed some settings in audio.conf and it still stutters.
But then, i deactived wifi while the device was streaming and all stuttering and skipping was gone.
So... can someone just confirm, whether the a2dp streaming works correctly, when wifi is deactived?
I want to know, whether this is the only point to get this work and I don't want to change my working mess
is nobody interested in this?
I posted this bluetooth issue a while back on this forum, and the issue is corrected by switching off WIFI while using BT. Apparently the new update which is due soon fixes the issue but only one user has confirmed that so far.
Since I use bluetooth streaming on the car mainly, I use Tasker so that when Bluetooth connects, it automatically switches WIFI off (don't need WIFI while driving and saves battery), and when it disconnects it switches it back on. This way the phone just works seamlessly.
Just turning the wifi off and back on again when I connect bluetooth seems to solve this issue for me.
i can confirm - turning wifi on/off fixes it as well for me (until next time I go bluetooth)
I discovered this a couple of weeks ago too. I was about to send it back too. Cant live without podcasts and audible in the car!
I have the problem that i cant even here any sound on my HTC CAR A100 Car Stereo Clip, even if wlan is deactivated With my old sensation everything is okey..

I wonder if this also improves the bitpool value. I'm noticing on my HTC One that bluetooth streaming quality is not very good. From what I've read it has to do with a bitpool value that it set too low, increasing this value is supposed to increase the streaming quality. Highs sound distorted on my phone over BT I can't believe Google/HTC have not addressed this issue.
I have not been able to solve the bluetooth audio streaming issue by turning off WiFi for my car. It works perfectly fine with my Jambox even with WiFi turned on, but in the car, it does not work either way and I'm using software version 1.29.401.13

I'm running 1.29.401.13 too and it looks like it is working nearly perfect for now. I can remember only one time, when it stopped for a second. Mabye the car radio is facing similar problems? Did you try to update the firmware or whatever of you car radio?

I've tried researching how to update the firmware of my car's bluetooth, but have had zero luck there as well. It's a 2009 Acura TSX.

Did you manage to fix the problem with the A100 as mine is exactly the same, works fine on my Sensation but no the HTC One.
have the same problem:
If wifi is ON and bluetooth is ON, eg at streaming youtube over the bluetooth headset, it stutters and has distortions.
If wifi is OFF and stream a video from the sdcard over bluetooth all is fine.
what i find out:
I use the JellyBean from Quarkx for defy.
The build from 7.3.2013 worked
All later builds, with the new wifi driver had this problem.
But its a known bug that JellyBean has a2dp issues, i guess.
This trick, to change audio.a2dp doesnt helped me
I didn't noticed any problem with my phone even when the wifi ON, I'm using the latest radio "4A.16.3250.24_10.38.1150.03L" found in this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2245615
I don't know if it can help..
Hello fellow HTC One members/XDA enthusiasts!
I have owned many phones in the past few years and never had any issues pairing with bluetooth devices until now.
I have a Pioneer X910 in dash head unit in my car and briefly had the audio working (no on screen information) but then it stopped and when I hit play it started playing out of the phones speakers.
It does say that the phone is connected and on the phone itself it sees Pioneer Navi and also in the settings it shows audio enabled.
Now for the life of me I cannot get any music playing over BT in my car. I have yet to try phone calls with it.
BTW I have my phone rooted with OrDroid on it.
Has anyone had this problem or know the solution? I can play music on my BT speaker in my house but not on my Pioneer X910
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
No one is having this issue?
I may have to return this phone if this feature doesn't work...
Also my work email is not being "Pushed" through EAS....really frustrated with such a beautiful phone...
Which ordroid version are you working on?
HTC tweaked some bluetooth things during 1.29.401.5, and every Update some problems disappear...

I'm on OrDroid 3.0.0
I un-paired the device today and re-paired, started to work for a few seconds, shut the screen off, it stopped working and now won't play through the speakers anymore.
BTW I'm using N7 music player

I had a similar issue pairing my old EVO 4G with my Ford Sync system via blue tooth. Don't know if this is related but the issue I had was when Sync tried to download my contacts/address book it would choke. Turned out Sync couldn't handle merged contacts. If your Pioneer is trying to download your contacts try disabling it.
still not working. i am now using trickdroid 5.1.0 and it does the same thing.
very frustrating
anyone else having these issues?

Sorry to see that your going through trouble, I also have trickdroid 5.1.0 and it works flawlessly with my car's bluetooth connection.
i have an alpine detachable with bluetooth.
have you tried reinstalling the rom with a full wipe?

Works fine with my Pioneer AVH 2400BT, even displays the Track Info on the head unit. I did notice the audio breaking up when using Tom Tom and listening to music at the same time.

Revolution HD ROM might be worth a try, maybe it has a more up to date version of Blue Tooth. Is your Pioneer on the latest firmware? If not it might be worth updating it too.

Has anyone else had trouble getting the Moto X to automatically connect to Car Bluetooth?
My previous phone (Galaxy Nexus) worked fine, and so did my tablet (Nexus 7) when I tested it. The Moto X only connects if I toggle bluetooth off and back on again or if I select CAR MULTIMEDIA from the Bluetooth device list (I have a Subaru Outback). Other phones always connected automatically as soon as I turned the car on.
Does anyone have a fix or a workaround?

Mine is autoconnecting to my Kenwood HU.
Maybe try deleting all previous pairings on BT unit, and then re-pair the Moto X?
As a workaround, you could get an NFC tag and stick it on the dash or somewhere, and program it so when you tap the phone against it, it forces the BT connection.

I did a full reset of the car stereo settings, and I've removed and re-added a number of times. I had been trying to figure out the Trusted Device thing and I only later realized that it only comes up if you have a screen lock other than "slide".
NFC could work, but that's not much easier than just toggling bluetooth. My goal is to have my phone connect even if I don't take it out of my pocket like my old phone did.
I don't know if the issue is specific to Subaru and Moto X or not. My Galaxy Nexus was running 4.4 and worked fine, but I think Moto and AOSP use different Bluetooth.
EDIT: I just tried poking through the options in the car again. It has a setting where you can pick if the connection is initiated by the car or the device, and I switched it. So far it seems to be working!

As it turns out, it *DOESN'T* work. It was a fluke that it appeared to work.
It doesn't matter if it's set to be Car or Device initiated, it does not automatically connect. If I toggle bluetooth or manually initiate a connection from the device end, it will connect and work just fine, however.
Any ideas? Anyone else have a similar experience with the Moto X?
I have a Logitech adaptor in my truck and its behavior is that the phone connects to it fine initially, but when power is removed and restored to the Logitech, it will not reconnect automatically. This is unfortunate as starting most vehicles turns off all accessory power while the starter is cranking.
I have another, cheaper bluetooth receiver that does reconnect, but it does not sound as good as the Logitech (and has ground loop issues).
In my case, the behavior is not limited to the Moto X as I have the same behavior with several Nexus devices as well.

What Android version are you running? If 4.4 - try downgrading to 4.2.2 (I am not responsible if you brick your phone). Google started using new version of Bluetooth stack in 4.4 and it is not compatible with some devices.
I am on 4.2.2 and have zero problem with my car Bluetooth.

It's a DE, so I'm not worried about bricking... But I haven't been on 4.2 for a long time and I'd rather not go back, even to diagnose a bug.
The major Bluetooth stack change (BlueZ to Bluedroid) actually happened in 4.2, so 4.2.2 would have already had it. There have been other changes, though, of course, and I imagine any of them could be responsible for the regression. Glad to know I'm not the only one with the problem, at least.

I think you should be worried about bricking. This is a quote from now deleted thread:
This is a simple chart what can and can't not be downgraded, Thanks to Dray_jr
the only OTA that can downgrade is 4.4 to 4.2.2 Post Cam
here is what we know right now that might make more sense
4.4 to 4.2.2 Pre Cam will Brick
4.2.2 Post Cam to 4.2.2 Pre Cam will Brick.
4.4.2 to to anything will Brick
4.4 to 4.2.2 Post Cam you are ok
