If u are S-ON u have to flash the kernel Manually from fastboot......
Did u do that last time........?????
You do NOT need to be S-off, and there is absolutely no need to flash the boot.img or kernel separately. But Unlocked is necessary, also latest TWRP recovery is required.
As always, do a Nandroid of your current ROM.
GPE is a different matter, though. I am not familiar with GPE ROMs as I never tried them. The One with Sense is too good to miss! But not relevant as both ROMs you mentioned are Sense ROMs!

Oh, so if i want flash 4.4 must use twrp 2.6.33 or latest recovery rite?
i never do nandoid, but i got keep old rom in internal storage.(need do nandroid next time.)
I just flash stock rom, because love sense and dislike GPE rom interface.

Because the recovery was not yet adjusted.
You should do regularly a Nandroid...it is easy enough, and keep it on the internal storage.
For now, flash the latest TWRP recovery in fastboot mode, then flash any Sense ROM, and boot up first into it to check that all is good., then do another Nandroid of the now successfully booted Sense ROM. (OTG cable and USB drive come in handy here as you can Nandroid directly to external storage, or to have a collection of different Nandroids to free up internal storage space, as well as added security as you can always flash also a ROM from USB drive should things go wrong!)
After that you can try different kernels if you must.
I am running InsertCoin 7.0.5 with ElemntalX 10.4 for several weeks now and this combination has fantastic battery performance as well as it is totally stable!

So I had AOSP Gingerbread mod working fine with Deca kernel. I wanted to install the circle battery mod so I rebooted to recovery and wiped cache and cleared Davlik and installed the mod. Now my phone is constantly boot looping. I assume I have to RUU back to stock? Is there a certain RUU I should use?
I've tried two different RUU's and I keep getting ERROR[130]: MODEL ID ERROR
I've tried to USB FASTBOOT:
RUU_Hero_HTC_WWE_2.73.405.5_WWE_release_signed_NoDriver and
HTC Sprint Hero MR 2.27.651.6
Sounds like you didn't flash the correct one for your ROM. Just flash the ROM over itself with no wipe and you should boot up. You don't need to RUU, just use the GB ROM.
Make sure you download the Battery Mod that matches the ROM version your are running. You need to do it with each ROM you flash and they are not cross-ROM compatible.
How do I flash the ROM over itself if it is boot looping? Can I get into ClockworkMod Recovery somehow?

- Pull your battery and put it back in. That will obviously stop the loop
- Press and hold the home key and power at the same time
- Hold until recovery comes up
- Flash the ROM
Thanks. Got it. Sorry, I'm new to all this.
No problem. Glad you got it.

Try flashing with WCX because TWRP sometimes screws up when flashing to partitions.

hello there,
so earlier i was trying to flash my htc one m7 with android 62.0 but it seems it wasn't a success because now my phone is just stuck in a boot loop and i cant get into recovery mode anymore. Now its been awhile since i flashed a rom, i had android hd 31.0 before that so i thought id update it but its seems its gonna be a bit harder that that. my phone is showing s-on with hboot 1.55 and i used clockwork to flash the rom. now could i get some advice as to how i could get this android hd 62.0 to work on my htc? or should i just try to revert to what i used to but the problem is the old rom isn't on my phone anymore and i was never able to find the stock rom for my phone (rogers canada m7). any advice here ?
If you have an old CWM, try upgrading it first. With newer OSs, something in the Android install procedure has changed. You need a recovery that's at least as new as TWRP 2.6.3.3. To get back to recovery, try using the power+volume down button to get to fastboot mode, and use the computer for "fastboot erase recovery" and "fastboot erase cache". Then boot to recovery.

Do you need to wipe data? Did you wipe data within the ARHD installer? (For me, it doesn't ever work unless I do this. You can make a nandroid backup before if you want.)

Could be--is your phone the m7-ul, the international HTC One? If so, did you wipe cache and dalvik cache in recovery, and data inside the ARHD installer? If you've done all that, I'm about out of ideas...

Yes, do it from the bootloader (after re-locking it). You'll have to find the instructions somewhere...

New to me AHD will not boot into any custom roms, I'm confused as to why. But here's what I've done:
Root (motochopper)
Unlock bootloader
Using mythtools, flashed recovery
enter recovery, factory reset, also format /system (CWM Touch 6.0.4.4)
flash CM and Gapps
Afterwards, phone just sits at boot logo. I used mythtools to reflash stock firmware, and that boots and works fine, but when I repeat the process of flashing recovery and flashing a rom, the phone will no longer boot. What am I misssing?
If you're flashing CM, make sure you flash a nightly from BEFORE July 1st, or flash milestone release M8. Then report back results.
Any CM-based ROM from after those dates won't flash because of bootloader issues related to the fact that the Atrix HD hasn't been upgraded to Motorola's latest bootloader yet.

It's like fastboot isn't working...keep trying to flash recovery from it and it doesn't seem to work. Going to check those threads.
Went through the whole process again, still bootloops. rom and gapps flash fine with no errors, the only strangeness I notice is that while flashing rom in recovery, it doesn't seem to take very long (15-20 secs at most). I remember it being considerably longer, the gapps take longer to flash than the rom does. MD5 is good, rom is intact. I'm at a loss of what to do.

Instead of CWM Touch, try flashing Philz Advanced recovery (I think it's what most users use). Download latest from here: https://goo.im/devs/philz_touch/CWM_Advanced_Edition/moto_msm8960/

Was another no-go on PhilZ Back on Stock 4.1 again, unfortunately. Didn't even bootloop this time, just sat at the Moto logo. Strangely, I don't have the Bootloader Unlocked warning screen, just a red Moto logo, not sure how that got changed.

Damn, I've messaged you.
So after a little this and that, I've realized that the md5 of the ROM isn't matching anymore, and no matter what browser and how many times I download the ROM, the md5 will now never match. Using the md5 checker on PhilZ latest. The gapps match every time when I check.
I've been using my Kingston SD card to store the ROMs and gapps, will try storing them on the phone and see how it fares.

It's working now. Flashed the ROM, phone sat at the boot logo for 20 minutes, then the cm boot animation came on and booted from there. This is the 3rd AHD I've owned but the 1st to have this very strange behavior.

Never relock your bootloader if your using a custom rom or recovery, so first of all, get it unlocked again.
which kernel did you flash ?
bulletproof kernel.. is there a guide to do that or can i follow the following one:

I believe bullet proof is a sense only kernel, CM is an asop rom not a sense rom.
Just unlock your bootloader at HTC Dev,
Once its unlocked, you might get lucky and just be able to flash a correct kernel to get booting again, failing that you'll either have to flash a new rom or restore your backup.
Sorry that took long it now says unlocked. How do i go about install cyanogenmod again or do i have to install a stock?

yes the rom will still be there if it was only a factory reset, if you did an advanced wipe inside something like TWRP then it wont.
Factory reset just restores whatever rom is on your phone to the state it was at when you first installed it, ie you will just have to set it back up again with email addresses and passwords, carrier and country etc after it boots.
