Hello, does anyone know how to raise the in call volume. The slider is al the way up, but the sound is still very low.
I have tried others roms, but is still stays the same. Is there an mod or app, that can help ??
Please help me, I have tried everything (also made adjustments to the build.prop file , but that didn't help).....

I also want this to happen
I think it's a hardware failure because when I raise the volume all the way up my ear literally explodes
I don't know exactly but maybe it depends on your network provider?

Yes, it may be a hardware defect or maybe the grate is dirty.
Still, how can we raise the volume?
I know there is one way thru the hidden menu, but not sure on the details.
I think it's not a hardware failure, but maybe the grail is dirty i don't know, but still I hope that someone has a solution to crack the volume up... A booster app or something in the system files. Anyone ?
I don't know, maybe alsamixer?

Alsa mixer will not work on this device....:crying:
Alsamixer works on my 4x. I can increase loudness of main speaker. And it is crucial to make radio work on our phone
That is wierd. I m on stock 20b software but the app emty when I open it.... I can install the files but thats it...
I have a similar issue with out-going volume being too low when wearing headphones.

I also have this stupid bug, annoys the hell of me, as i work in a noisy place i often cannot hear the phone ringing before its finished...
I've tried to find a solution, but still no luck.. It's not a largely discussed item yet..
But i cant hardly believe we are the only one with this issue...

Did somebody find a solution ?
Can't help with the soft-to-loud ringtone problem.
But to get a loud ringtone, I sound edited a ringtone file to play as loud as possible (with some distortion) and worked quite well. Not loud enough for a construction site, but OK for most noisy indoor situation. I used Audacity on a PC to increase the playback decibel (I think +5db made noticeable difference).
Thanks for the answer...
It's my first android phone (comin' from a htc touch diamond 2), is it a common problem with android phone or it's only with the o2x?
Is the problem only on stock rom or also on custom (modaco, CM7,...)?

It's not a bug it's a feature!
I hate this to.
Hey guys,
I was wondering if any of you guys also believe the speaker phone for the incredible s sucks? The volume is EXTREMELY low even at max and I end up having to just put the phone to my ear and turn off the speaker phone
Are there any fixes? I remember my Touch Pro 2 had a similar problem, but for the ringtone volume. It was fixed with a patch.
I tried searching and didn't find any info about this.
Thanks!
ive also noticed that my speaker volume in a call is extremely low... the same speaker on an app like slacker personally seems like double the volume :S?....
anyone else noticed anything like that...
I find the volume for speaker phone really sucks. Companies now are to horny to get their product out. Instead of taking time to make sure everything is working properly. Hopefully there will a patch.
I totaly agree with you, it sucks

same issue for me!
I have been trying volume+ and dsp manager with cm7 to try to fix it.
They don't seem to work together well so i had to uninstall dsp manager with tibackup.
Volume+ seemed to work at first...but i dont know if the changes are persistent or if my taskmanager killed it.
Good luck to everyone else, please post a fix if you have one of your own.
I guess it's a problem for all of us !
It's terrible on all htc phones.

yes me too. Wish there was a way to improve this. Anyone know how to look up the speaker specs? If we can compare toa phone with good speaker phone then we can determine whether its purely hardware or if anything can be done in software.
It's hardware I think all of htcs phones have bad speakerphones. There are threads about it in almost every device forums.
Did you guys give a try to Volume+ application?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1023433
It really boosted sound on my Desire.. So I am sure IS will be good too..
hello guys,
im having a in-call problem, speaker is very low i can bareky talk to.
Is this normal or i got a defective piece.?

That application has a ton of bad reviews
install "Equalizer". Since it loads into system it boost the overall volume to almost double. Tried and Tested, works like a charm.
I don't usually post stuff like this, but I had a heck of a time trying to fix the sound issues I was having in all the custom ROMs I had tried. The problems I had were very low volumes through the headset and especially BT audio. I also had a whine coming from the speakerphone during calls. I thought I was going to have to go back to a stock ROM, but after an hour or two of experimentation I came up with an snd_soc_msm file that fixes all sound issues. It's basically a direct copy from a stock ROM (to increase the volume) with a modified "Speaker" volume to eliminate the whine.

So... Is it alive? Working? Good solution? Thanks
It works on CM10. Speaker now is much louder and clearer like on stock JB

Nicely done. Is there a way to get the headset volume higher? I use my phone in my car for music and for it to get as loud as I am wanting I have to have the volume all the way up on my phone and the volume on the stereo about 7/8 of the way up. I hate doing that and would like to just have a louder output signal.
If it is just a couple of values to adjust please let me what to look for and I have no problem doing so at my own risk.
Thank you

Yeah search for all of the ":6" or ":7" values and change those to something higher. I wouldn't go much higher though, and who knows what it would do to the internal amp. Also, if you're able to get the volume you want at 7/8 consider yourself lucky. I have to go all the way on my car stereo and it's only barely acceptable.

Thank you, I am just glancing through here and I do see a lot of value's with those two in them. Given that everything else on my phone sounds fine I am a little hesitant to raise every one of them. Do you think you could help me isolate the one that would specifically be for headphone audio out? I will raise it but just searching for those brings up way more then I believe need to be adjusted.
Thanks

That's all I would do. That's what I had to do to figure out which one to bring down to fix the speaker whine.
Edit: misread your statement. Basically you want to just do one at a time and see if it works.
Okay, man. Thank you and I will probably start going through them this evening. I am trying to figure out a way to have a controlled test so I know for sure which one it is. If I only do a little bit of each one it would be easy to mistakenly assume that it is the wrong one. I need a way of gauging my audio output to a speaker.... humm???

So I am messing around with this and am just using notepad++ I am wondering what file format would I save the file as once I have made changes? I dont think that a normal .txt is the right file type. Also, would I be able to just replace the original file using root explorer and a reboot or would I have to make it a flashable file? If it has to be flashed in CWM how would I compress it so that it is recognized by CWM?
Thanks in advance.

There is no file extension (linux doesn't care about this as much as windows). You can just drop it in with root explorer and then reboot.

Awesome, thank you. I will post back with any possible changes that I may find helpful.
Thanks again.
Well after messing around for a bit I did manage to get the sound louder but I ran into a problem. It seems like the internal amp kicks in and drops it all the way down probably to prevent any damage from occuring. I just ended up hoping all of the 6's to 7's. That's raises all of the Ringers and external volumes up to something a little more alerting.

guys, has someone running experimental build from 21st of August tried this file? If so, can you tell me if this modded file fixes also the echo problem during voice calls? I am trying it soon but echo was not always present so I am afraid I won't be able to determine this immediately and I can't wait to know that

I am running that but have modded it a little more. I do still have the echo that your referring to though. Not sure where it is or what would remove it so I have just been dealing with it.
Sorry.

Today I flashed new nightly (08092013) but not this fix and the other person said that he was hearing echo. With the older release the others was hearing me good. So, how to mod this file? I thisk it is changed from the older releases.

Hey there,
i have a problem since i got my One (april) but it seems to geeting worse. If i am on the phone its sometimes really hard to unterstand my partner because the speaker is so quite. I do not mean handsfree phoning, its just the internal speaker. It happens with all kinds of roms (rooted
+ s-off). Whats interesting, is that if the call is quite, and i go for handsfree it es quite as well, so i thinking about a software issue.
If i listen to musik the speaker is fine.
What could i do to search for the problem ? My phone is on the first hboot and running android 4.4 android revolution 41.0
any tips for me ?
thanks!

Their is a feature in the phone that lowers the volume of the ringtone when you pickup the phone ... it may be interfering with normal operation ..try disabling it
it's in Settings / Sound / Quiet ring on pickup and pocket mode

well their are a couple of other things .. there's a tiny mic on the backside of the phone that tells the phone your in a loud environment and to raise and lower in call volume, theirs a tweak to override it somewhere here on the forums .. I'll look for that. EDIT Found it >> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2406524
The other thing is the actual speaker grill can get plugged up with debris have you tried cleaning those tiny holes ?

applied the mod. did not help as well.
I think theres really some sort of HW issue, because of all the different roms i used to use there was no changes.
maybe there is some sort of mini speaker in there with a problem, or a amplifier problem
