Hello there. I've been trying to do an ota update for my HTC One to android 4.3 for a while now and it hasn't been successful. Every time I check I get the "Your phone is up to date" message. I'm stuck on 4.2.2. I've tried contacting HTC about my problem, and apparently my device is the O2 version which according to them, hasn't received the update yet, although from my search, it seems that the 4.3 update has been on O2 since last November . I bought my device thinking it was the unlocked, worldwide version of the One; the place that I've purchased it from said nothing about it being an O2 device. Could it be that this has to do with the fact that when I setup my device, I choose my country (Jordan) instead of the UK? How can I update it to 4.3 without rooting it? Is there a way to change the country settings and check for an update? Thank you for your time

Has nothing to do with which country you choose, it depends on CID and MID; MID should be PN071000 (for M7_UL European model), and the CID you can see in the bootloader screen.

You'll have to wait until O2 releases it.

Thank you very much for your reply. It's messed up that O2 would take this long to release such an update that's been rolling to the HTC One since October :crying:

I've just done another check, the update is supposed to have been rolled out since last November(source: O2 forums) , yet I keep getting the "your phone is up to date" message :/

I just checked my bootloader and it says "tampered" on top. Although, I've never messed around with it or tried to unlock it. My device was new when bought, so this is very peculiar.

I didn't get what you meant by GetVar all info, how can I access those?
Oh and from clicking on recovery in the Bootloader menu I've just discovered that there's something called the ClockWorkMod installed on my device

well, here's the short version: whoever you bought your phone from (be that second hand, or even a shop), they unlocked bootloader (using HTCdev) and were playing around with it.
in either case, they should have informed you of the state of the phone they sold you.
now to get the phone back to something close to new (out of the box), how familiar are you with adb & fastboot?
i can help fix or convert your phone, but need to know how familiar you are with the above commands.

I'm quite unfamiliar with them. It was my first time using it when I got the following Getvar info. Also, will this delete all of the data on my phone? And could it be that this was done in order to unlock my device on other carriers? Or will it work on all carriers even when reset to it's factory settings? I can't thank you enough for your help!

1- no, it was not done to unlock from carriers! that would be SIM-Unlock, nothing to do with the phones bootloader unlocked
2- You wanna turn your phone into an unbranded WWE GCC Edition? would that be you're ultimate goal, or do you have anything else in mind, for example: using custom ROMs?
3- or do you just wanna keep it O2 branded?

Well, I guess it'd be nice to make it into a World Wide unlocked edition, unless that means delving more in technicalities(I'm afraid of bricking it) and not getting OTA HTC updates, in which case I'd want to return it into it's stock state with O2 branding.

1- So first things first, backup EVERYTHING to your PC!! If you're going to do this, then sooner or later you're going to wipe everything off your phone! (probably sooner ... actually very soon!)
2- Second thing is to get S-Off: you're still on hboot 1.44 (April 2013) and firmware 1.xx, so the easiest is to use revone, and in order to avoid unnecessary headaches, use the following ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=48955645&postcount=250
3- get s-off using revone: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2314582
4- once s-off, change your CID (ie Carrier ID) to unbranded WWE GCC: in bootloader/FASTBOOT USB
fastboot oem writecid HTC__J15 <-- two underscores
fastboot reboot-bootloader
5- (optional) want to remove TAMPERED and set phone to LOCKED? use this tool: http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/guru_bootloader_reset_1-0-zip/
6- download and run this RUU: http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/ruu_m7_...1-27_10-31-1131-05_release_310878_signed-exe/
after you run the above file, you're phone will be completely returned to "out of the box", model M7_UL (PN0710000) and WWE GCC (CID HTC__J15)
all done, enjoy the updates.
if you need help, or have questions let us know

I sincerely apologize if this comes off as a bit too noob-ish. But won't my phone restore all of my data off my HTC Account Backup once I'm done? If not, what's the best tool, in your opinion for backing it up on my PC?

I just started following your steps to get my HTC One back to stock but unfortunately during the flash it got stuck on the HTC Queitly Brilliant screen, so I 'ingeniously" resetted it into recovery and clicked on Factory reset, and now it's again stuck on that screen. I'm Scared sh**less here. Is this normal? Have I bricked my device? Is this fixable?

next time please use copy/paste, screenshots are so hard to read, and by the time i'm responding, i've already forgotten what it says.
so hboot is still 1.44, and fw is still 1.xx, so still need to get s-off first
so for this exercise, we're gonna use CWM 6.0.4.5:
https://mega.co.nz/#!aRMQiZoL!X2id_V0xX3BU54fEKctKxzr4dutrHJLaZkHHBVbfevw
MD5: D6DCFEA904E5A3B90ED320AC438BA5F3
then flash that in bootloader:
fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.4.5-m7ul.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
-> enter recovery, once in recovery
adb push Android_Revolution_HD-One_9.4.zip /data/media/
^^ the ROM is posted earlier (credits to @mike1986.)
then "install" it in CWM.
and continue as instructed before to get S-Off.

I sincerely apologize, I didn't know that there's a different method for posting pictures. I take it those are all CMD commands? And I'm going to have to be in the Fastboot menu of the bootloader while doing this? And where should I place the clockwork recovery img?

Hello everyone,
This is my fisrt time writing in this forum, hope you guys can share some knowledge with me. Here is my issue:
I bought a HTC One to a guy a few weeks ago with barely no use. The thing is that I didn´t know at that time that the device was rooted with the MaximusHD. When I realized about it I reset my phone to factory settings and the new 4.3 3.22.1540.1 got installed. Thought it was ok but it is still doing some weird things so I decided to unroot the device to stock, also for warranty porpuses.
The problem comes when I try to download the RUU for my device due to I cannot find it. Should I do it through other method? Do I have to S-off to downgrade and install the RUU 1.29?
My phone is the following:
M7_UL PVT Ship S-On RH
Baseband 4A.17.3250.14
Hboot 1.54.0000
OpenDSP v31.120.274.0617
It is the european unlocked/international version bought in Spain.
I would really appreciate if someone could give a hand on this and guide me in through this process. I was an iPhone guy and now I'm freaking lost.
Thanks so much!

Your bootloader should already be unlocked, so simply get S-OFF using Rumrunner, then follow this guide.

Thanks for the reply. I've tried to s-off my htc but it hasnt worked. So I downloaded the recovery stock version and after installing it, the device told me that my phone doesnt appear to be rooted and if i wanted to install supersu, i declined and then made a recovery. Phone looks like unrooted, although within the bootloader it still shows "tampered" and "Unlocked". The recovery mode that the phone had installed has disappeared so I dont know what to do now, should I continue to s-off the device and then put it down to hboot 1.44 and follow the unroot guide???
I would like to make sure my device is unrooted in order to gain warranty privilages just in case i need to send out my phone to htc...
Thanks!

You don't really have a choice, unless you have the RUU for your phone. Can you post the results of "fastboot getvar all" so we can try to figure out what to do.

Just a quick note here, "version-main: <blank>" I never like that.
BTW, when posting "fastboot getvar all" it's preferably to remove IMEI and s/n; we don't need to see that.
You should probably get s-off as @attanasi0 suggested and then run a "HTC__304" downgrade RUU. (You can only downgrade if you're S-Off)
Just my two cents

Right, it shows just OS- but nothing else...when i bought it the guy had installed the MaximusHD 13 and I updated through OTA to the MaximusHD 20 but wasnt going smooth so I reset it to factory settings and It installed the JB 4.3 (3.22.1540.1).
Today after trying to s-off without success, I downloaded the recovery stock version for the rom I had and flashed it and the recovery mode that I had before disappeared and the baseband upgraded to 4A.20...instead of the 4A.17 that I had before that. Did the guy who sold me the htc messed it up? is there anything I can do to set my device to factory settings?
Thanks for the help guys! I appreciate it!

Well from the information available, you have
- hboot 1.54
- m7_ul
- PN0710000
- CID HTC__304
this would lead me to assume you have a 2.24.401.x based phone.
I would try to get one of the following Guru Reset ROM:
2.24.401.8 : http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/guru_reset_m7_2-24-401-8-zip/
2.24.401.1 : http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/guru_reset_m7_2-24-401-1-zip/
flash one of them in recovery, then follow the rumrunner steps to try to achieve S-Off.
If that is successful, then you can downgrade back to stock, using this RUU (exe): http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/ruu_m7_...1-27_10-31-1131-05_release_310878_signed-exe/
check your "fastboot getvar all" after that.
Once you've done all that you can use revone (or http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2477792) to remove "TAMPERED"
and also revone (or http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2475914) to get you're phone "LOCKED" if you so wish
Keep S-Off !!
PS: hit the thanks button if someone has helped you

Thanks for the help. I have downloaded the Rom you gave me the link for but I dunno how to flash it due to I lost access to the teamwin recovery mode and when I click recovery onto the bootloader it goes to a black screen with a caution simbol in red and I have to reboot it.
I have tried with the goomanager to flash that rom but it doesnt let me. Any advice in this regard? I can tell goomanager to find an open recovery script (openrecovery-twrp-2.6.1.0-m7.img), should i do this? Or Im gonna end up with a bricked phone?
Thanks!

"black screen with a caution simbol in red" that's stock recovery, you need to flash back a custom recovery. download (if you dont have one) from the xda threads, then enter bootloader (shut off phone, hold POWER + VOLDOWN) enter FASTBOOT, connect to PC and it should change to FASTBOOT USB
then
fastboot erase cache
fastboot flash recovery <name of recovery>.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
-> enter RECOVERY
then "install ZIP" in Aroma, deselect "stock recovery" so you don't need to flash it again.

No problem, TWRP you mentioned should work just fine. It's the same as installing a custom ROM. I havent used TWRP but it should say something like "install zip", then find the zip and flash away.
Hopefully, that will give you a chance to successfully run rumrunner; remember to read and follow the instructions to the letter!
Good luck and keep us posted (fingers crossed)

Good luck and keep us posted (fingers crossed)

Well I installed the custom recovery, then flashed the stock rom 2.24.401.8 as you told me. Once I did that I ran rumrunner successfully gainning S-off.
Now I have to run the RUU but the one you suggested me is the "RUU M7 UL JB 50 HTC Europe 1.28.401.7 Radio 4A.13.3231.27 10.31.1131.05 Release 310878" but my radio is 4A.17.3250.14_10.39.1150.04L. Should I try to install it anyways? I've taken a look at the rest of RUUs and none fits my features...
btw every time I flash the stock version at the end it tells me that my phone doesnt appear to be rooted and if i want to install supersu, i always say no and after that my recovery always goes to stock, i guess it is normal, isnt it?

Go ahead and flash it, it will downgrade everything (now possible thanks to S-Off), and you will then receive the latest OTA package(s) to get to the most current version including radio.

you should set it to LOCKED not RELOCKED using revone or http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2475914
keep S-Off !!
anyway, don't why anybody would want to be on stock ROM

Hey! I have tried to lock it but after typing adb shell I get this "[email protected]:\ $" instead of the # that you are getting. I've tried to type "su" after that but it says that the command cannot be found. Also, when I type the code "echo -ne..." it says that I have permission denied so dunno what to do now...
Im asking in the lock/unlock threat but they just told me that its because im not rooted and that i have to install a recovery and install superuser in order to be able to introduce the code, dont really understand why I have to root it afer unrooted it :S

You should have LOCKED it before running the RUU, because that's what made you loose root.
So before proceeding, can you give me an update of your status:
bootloader: locked/relocked/unlocked?
tampered?
ROM?
"fastboot getvar all" (remove IMEI and s/n)
Hello,
probably silly question and you will order me to study xda.
Unfortunately, i have came through almost every single topic, and can't get to "move" from my situation.
I received Htc One with Hboot v 1.54.000, locked bootloader - S-ON.
Software number 2.24.111.5 (android 4.2.2 with Sense 5). My cid (read through CidGetter from playstore) - T-MOB101.
I am trying to avoid unlocking bootloader via htc-dev, as afaik it voids the warranty.
I am not interested in custom roms. Rather, i would like to "fool" the phone and make it like it was European distribution, with no branding, so i would receive OTA as anyone else with unbranded phone.
If i understood correctly, to achieve this, basically i need to change my CID to european or supercid, which will enable to install any ruu from htc. But european otas would be enough for me. To change cid, i need S-OFF, right ?
There are basically three methods, if i read correctly, right ?
1, Revone - doesn't work with Hboot 1.54
2, Moonshine - Works without htc-dev unlocking, but installs custom bootloader, which will disable otas to install.
3, Rumrunner - Works with 1.54 bootloader, but i need to htc dev unlock ?
So, am i understanding correctly, that as long as i dont want to htc dev unlock, i am stuck to my cid, and dependent from german t-mobile ? So i can only hope, some dev will find exploit in Hboot 1.54 ?
Isn't there any miracle, that could help to solve my problem ?
Thanks
Rumrunners is the only solution with an htc dev unlock...
If you will remove the cid and put an european is the best thing to do.
You can always put the locked string
Yes,
but Htc will know, that i requested unlock keys.
Won't be that problem ?
Also, does htc-dev unlock automatically mean warranty void ?

Yeah, i know that htc will know, but i never had a problem.
When i had the Evo 3D i unlocked with htcdev and after s-offed, so i relocked and s-on for warranty e no prob
MY friends with this phone didn't had any problem with warranty also with an unlocked with htcdev...
Remusator - I'm looking for the same thing: I have UK orange firmware, and was hoping to get stock/unbranded CID so I can get regular OTAs. Please let me know if you figure it out
Desperately waiting and hoping for some dev to soff without dev.
Today an arcticle came through my hands, saying "Unlocked htc one - kitkat till end of the month". Still don't have even Jelly :/
Is someone working on this ? Please

Hello, thanks for answer. :good:
If i agree to unlock my bootloader, could i achieve things mentioned in first post ?
Could you please give me some more detailed guide (alternatively steps with topic links), which i need to proceed ?
Al i need is to fool the phone to think, that it's unlocked and receive ota's like any other european unlocked htc one.
Thanks

OK, European unbranded:
1- get s-off: http://rumrunner.us/ (follow instructions !)
2- change CID to European unbranded such as HTC__001
fastboot oem writecid HTC__001 <- two underscores
3- I assume your model number (MID) is already PN0710000
4- remove TAMPERED, and set your phone back to LOCKED, you can use this tool from within CWM recovery: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2527194
5- Run the following RUU: http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/ruu_m7_...1-27_10-31-1131-05_release_310878_signed-exe/
after the above, your phone will not be fooled into thinking it's European unbranded, it will be European unbranded, and you'll receive the OTAs.
Let me know if you need more explanations, and hit the thanks button if I've helped
Hello, thanks.
However, i am completely stock. So i don't have CWM recovery yet.
In which step will i get it ? Or am i missing something ?
Also, CID change - is it really so easy ? I have seen some guides where people needed to download, edit and then flash some hex files.

OK, so before point 1 above:
a) use HTCdev to unlock
b) download CWM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2173863 and flash it in bootloader/FASTBOOT USB:
fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.4.5-m7ul.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
--> enter recovery
c) for rumrunner to work, you need a close to stock rom with root access, so get one from here: http://www.htc1guru.com/downloads/stock-rom-downloads/, probably this one should work: http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/guru_reset_m7_2-24-111-3-zip/
you need to push that to your phone:
adb push <name of rom>.zip /data/media/ <- this will take 5 to 10 minutes without any progress bar, then report success
d) in CWM recovery, now select "install zip" -> "choose zip" and flash the rom
If you're using the Guru Reset ROM, then select WIPE, select ROOT, unselect "stock recovery"
and then proceed to rumrunner
"Also, CID change - is it really so easy ?" <- yes with S-off, it is easy, and you wont have any hex-editing to do, now or in future OTAs
Hit the thanks button if i've helped
Thanks, and what will be my phone status after this procedure ?
What hboot version, son/soff, unlocked/locked.
And what recovery ? Original, or cwm ?

the phone will be unTAMPERED, LOCKED (not relocked), 100% out-of-the box European unbranded, HTC Sense 5 ROM v1.28.401.7, but you'll receive OTAs up to 4.3 I think.
recovery will be stock recovery not CWM, so you can receive OTA
The phone will remain S-Off, and I suggest keeping it, if YOU INSIST on going S-On you can do so after running the RUU, but before taking any OTAs, by using "fastboot oem writesecureflag 3"

Ok, just to make sure.
When will be CWM recovery replaced with original one ? After running RUU ?
I definitely don't insist on S-ON. My warranty will be void anyways because of htc-dev unlock. And in case my phone would break down, i need S-OFF to restore everything to original.
Are there any security risks when i'm S-OFF ? Such as malware android applications etc ? As i have understood, no.
Can / should i take some full backup of my original rom, device, bootloader, recovery in case that something goes totally wrong ?
Many many thanks

Exactly after running the RUU.exe it will restore EVERYTHING back to stock: hboot, recovery, firmware, kernel, ROM, radio

I don't know much about warranty and what IS and IS NOT allowed, every users experience seems different, just read one today: he sent it s-off, rooted, custom rom, etc. but the blown speakers were fixed, and no questions asked.

No security issues whatsoever, S-Off will only allow you to write to certain partitions you can't with S-On. The ROM (Android 4.x.x) is responsible for the malware etc.

Yeah, su is required for rumrunner.
Yes, htcguru file use that command.
After the flash of recovery, a nandroid will backup only the OS.
For the sd you've to copy it into your pc.

1- Yes you need root
2- the link you provided only works if you are S-Off already
3- backup everything to PC (pics, music, etc)
4- use Call Logs Backup & Restore and SMS Backup & Restore if you need them (free apps in Play Store)
5- use Helium for apps+data, since you can't use Titanium
6- backup ROM using nandroid
7- dont worry too much about the nandroid, there are ones on @crushalots site

Hello, i cannot get through this point. I have installed HTC Sync, then uninstalled, so only drivers remained on my system.
I can use adb when the phone is normally booted, but then i don't have permission to write to that location.
When i reboot to recovery, adb devices shows empty list. Also that funny thing in windows taskbar starts spinning, finds "One", but fail to install driver.
Update1:
Ok, i managed to update adb driver to Android one. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1830108 device manager section)
Now i'm at next step. I pushed zip to /data/media/, but after choosing install zip, there is none on sdcard.
Trying to push that again.
Update2:
File appeared after second push. Installing right now. Hope phone will wake after this procedure. Fingers crossed, holding breath.
Update3
Ok, i flashed RUU, everything is fine until now.
Slovak language / Slovakia as location is missing. Should / can i change my CID for something and install corresponding RUU for that CID, so i would have Slovak Language ? I also get red text saying "THIS IS TEST DEVICE...."
I think, the correct CID for my region is HTC__032 - East Europe
What is the language dependent on ? Because the same RUU you recommended for me is also for HTC__032. Is the file same and languages are allowed based on CID, or how does this work ?
Also HTC_001 is in the first wave of updates ?
Thanks
delete pls

Hi to all!!!
Sorry if this was posted previously somewhere here...but i'm wondering trying to find a definitive answer to this...
I'm coming back to an HTC One (new, not used), so is there the possibility to have the S-OFF without get in touch with HTCdev with the latest H-BOOT version?
Please excuse me if this already exists here...but I just couldn't found a definitive answer...

1- There's no such thing as a definitive answer, because nobody can say that you will get S-Off even with unlocked (HTCdev) bootloader
2- there's no such thing as "latest hboot", that's why version numbers exist... "latest" (as far as i'm aware of) at the time of this writing is hboot 1.57
anyway, to answer your question:
3- you can try http://firewater-soff.com/ using the temproot exploit, but if it doesn't work, then i guess the answer would be no;
there's also WeakSauce temproot, which may or may not work also.

with S-On, you can only set it back to RELOCKED not LOCKED, so you still need S-Off for that, the problem isn't HTCdev, the problem is whether S-Off is going to work or not, very likely yes, but there have been a lot of "unable to get S-Off" threads recently.

so first get the phone, do a "fastboot getvar all" and then you can see which method will/should work for you (revone, rumrunner, firewater, weaksauce)

Why "fastboot getvar all" and not a simple boot into recovery to see the actual hboot version?
I'm just keeping myself "ready" for the big one...

same difference
fastboot getvar all won't harm your phone, but you could keep it as a record.
and you are right bootloader will give you 1 piece of information that the getvar won't ... the date of hboot (only significant if it's hboot 1.44)
oh and the big One, is the M8, the M7 is a bit smaller

So I can go into fastboot like very other phone an see the hboot version if it's good for s-off or I can use the getvar all command in equal...
Well you're right anyway...the Big One it's the M8...but a phone that keeps itself actual and still rockin after one year out...well...it's big too...

The HBOOT is 1.56.0000, with RADIO-4A.25.3263.21, date Feb 26 2014...with Android 4.4.2 and Sense 5.5...
I still can try the S-OFF procedure with these parameters???

It's highly unlikely the temproot exploits will work (so you'll have to unlock using HTCdev), but:
to be perfectly honest, I think you're jumping the gun a little with S-Off. I think you should do some more research into the M7, because the information you provided sounds like you're quite new this phone.
I can more or less guess, what ROM and firmware you have, but maybe you should first understand the differences between ROM, firmware, radio, kernel, etc.
and where you get that information and using which tools.
Also take a look at Do we really need S-OFF?
I'm not trying to be say you shouldn't get S-Off, but all in good time, once you are familiar with it and what it allows you to do.

If HTC don't let the HARDWARE warranty die or make it complicated with unlocking the phone, I'd probably unlocked the phone in 0 time since unboxing the phone, via HTCdev...but the fact that the warranty will be a trivia (even with hardware faults...) with the "tampered" and "relocked" question...well...I'm really afraid to let "the rom game" begin like I've done with almost all the phones that I've had...in fact now I know ADB, Fastboot, push commands via Terminal (MacOs) like the palm of my hand...

fair enough, but what I meant before:
1- ROM is usually found in Settings->About
2- firmware is what you get from a fastboot getvar all
3- Android version is irrelevant as we're more interested in the base
4- radio doesn't matter, cause you can flash any radio you want (even with S-On) on the M7
you can go ahead and try the temproot exploits, but I doubt that they will work on a 4.xx ROM.... so you will have no choice but to use HTCdev to unlock... and again, how can they prove you actually used the code, not just asked for one, and then got scared
and even if you don't get S-Off, you can still install a custom recovery (TWRP 2.6.3.3+ preferred at the moment), and install a custom ROM.

Yes, got it...and I've checked but I've noticed that 4.4.2 isn't supported for the temproot, only 4.3...sadly...

Yes, with S-ON pratically I can do everything, I've done that before on my old HTC ONE S some months ago, I remember it...but...HTC can recognize the unlocking because I'll have the "TAMPERED" and "RELOCKED" signatures in fastboot...so they can prove that I've used the token...while with S-OFF you can restore these signatures back to "stock" totally...like you've never used that token...
This is the only hassle...
Hello Xda-Developers, im new in the Android world, since i've been an iPhone user since the original iPhone all the way to the iPhone 4 (then things got pretty boring with). I used to Jailbreak my iPhone to have a more flexible experience with it... about 8~9 months ago i bought my first Android, an HTC One (M7) and it worked like a charm and never wanted to look back to iPhone, UNTIL one day i made an OTA update to 4.4.2, i've been having troubles with the signal, it shows full bars, i have 3G signal, but it shows "No Service" and i can't make/receive calls/SMS, i've been searching for 2 weeks or so, on how to fix it and i even sent it to warranty, and had my Sim replaced... twice. The problem persists, reading further i found that many users have been having this issues (and others) since the Kit Kat Update... So i decided to go beyond the world of a normal user... i want to downgrade from 4.4.2 to 4.3 (by the way i'm a Mac user), before making this thread i've been looking other threads and forums to help me on how to do it This is my first post on XDA Developers. Trust me, i've been looking for answers everywhere, the most similar thread i found was this thread.
And at the end the guy went for a new device, so that thread didn't help me out that much.
What i was able to do (hey, at least its a start) is to Unlock the Bootloader via HTCdev.
i think i've read pretty much to know some terms already, also thanks to Lifehacker
So... as i said before, im a Mac user, unfortunately i don't find much answers on how to do stuff with my HTC One and my Mac.
Let's get to the point:
I'd like to downgrade from 4.4.2 to 4.3 (the original HTC version, or a 4.4.2 stable custom version, whatever you think is better)
PS. Do i reeeeaaly need to S-Off and/or downgrade my HBoot?

Tampered is not harmful, just ugly to see. It's a flag for service to know your phone is not unlocked out of the box. You can just flash a 4.3 ROM, no need to s-off

Yes, s-off is required to downgrade. Ruu is possible with a mac if you use a ruu.zip instead of a ruu.exe. S-OFF is more difficult to achieve on hboot 1.56, so maybe you'll have to use a custom rom if you can't s-off.
If you already unlocked bootloader and rooted your phone, I assume you can use adb and fastboot from your mac. If not then read this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1917237
Then s-off the phone using rumrunner or firewater.
There is also a discussion here about S-OFF and hboot 1.56: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2567727
If you can s-off you'll be able to downgrade using a ruu.zip from your mac.

So, i can flash any 4.3 ROM (regardless of my phones software version [4.19.401.11] and/or my CID)?
After this, will i be able to make OTA Updates?

You can flash anything you like. If you flash stock rooted 4.3 ROM you will get OTA but you can't upgrade just like that. You need to relock your bootloader, flash stock recovery and stock kernel. On the other hand, you have great choice of custom kitkat ROMs which work great, so you can flash one of them. ARHD 53 would be my recomendation

So far i managed to Unlock bootloader (with a Tampered Flag), S-OFF with firewater on hboot 1.56 and root it via TWRP and SuperSU.
I cant find a RUU for my CID HTC__405 though i have this stock ROM and it says it can restore to stock radios (which hopefully will solve my problems)... stock radios will be restored now that i have S-Off... right?
and a last question... once i am back in 4.3 will i be able to download further OTA updates (say... when 4.4.3 comes out)? if not, what should i do now?
Stuck on boot scren htc one logo

Did you check your md5's??? I've had a multitude of my friends phones get stuck on boot screen.. Tell them to check md5 and it works.. One, as others have said, I would suggest flashing a couple Roms. See what you like, if you don't like any of them, then ruu back to stock. Also what twrp are you using? Did the ROM you installed request for a certain recovery to be used? I'm a Mac user so I understand lol. But what ROM??

i managed to solve it, i re installed this ROM which matches my CID (HTC__405), the ROM didnt ask me for any recovery to be used..... anyway.. so far i haven't had any luck fixing my first issue, which is that whenever i lose signal it wont reconnect, it will say "No Service" but still have 3G/4G working, i cant make/receive calls/SMSs.
Any idea on how to fix this issue?

Nope, before making this whole thread i sent it to warranty and they supposedly repaired it, i changed sim twice.
im going back further, trying 2.24.401.8 with android 4.2
Let's see if that works, or else i'll start trying custom ROMs... so far i've been using stocks.

Well, good luck. I just want to say - if you have the same problem with more than one ROM, no matter if it's stock or modified there is a hardware issue.
Supposedly is what bothers me the most in your case. Maybe your service doesn't care for their customers. It wouldn't be the first
True ^^ I agree with @donkeykong1 If you've had two SIMs and all that......its a hardware issue that is malfunctioning....

You're s-off correct? Ive seen people not needing to go back s-on for warranty purposes. But pretty much if you want to go back to stock, its just ruu, it does it all for you. Takes you back Locked with factory recovery and full just straight stock.

Okay, well a ruu can be placed on the internal memory.....but...... the way that I've always seen it done, or a lot of times is
Code:
./adb reboot bootloader
Code:
./fastboot oem rebootRUU
Code:
./fastboot flash RUU.zip
the RUU.zip could be named anything so you might have to rename the RUU or change the RUU.zip in terminal to what ever the foop you named it, although I wouldn't do the RUU with those instructions just yet.... Can someone else confirm it??

you might want to reset your phone using a ruu before to make sure your issue is really related to an hardware defect.
This ruu.zip will reset your phone to stock 1.28.401.7 (android 4.1.2) and hboot 1.44.
Then if you see the phone still have the issue, remove the tampered flag and set the bootloader back to ''LOCKED'' using this tool. Then s-on and send for warranty repair/replacement. This procedure must be done before you take any ota that will update your phone to hboot 1.55 or the tampered flag will come back and you'll have to s-off again and redo the entire procedure.

Make sure the ruu.zip is in the same folder where adb and fastboot are.
Code:
./adb reboot bootloader
or manually reboot the phone in bootloader using power + vol down
Code:
./fastboot oem rebootRUU
make sure ''RUU'' are capital letters
Code:
./fastboot flash name_of_ruu.zip
First time it will output a failed message, do the same command again:
Code:
./fastboot flash name_of_ruu.zip

GPE devices must be unlocked using "fastboot oem unlock" not using htcdev.com
Your bootloader version (1.44) doesn't match your firmware version btw
But tell me, I see in your post history that you have bricked 6 different phones in 5 months... How is that possible ?

and i treid that you said
but this error
check it please
I think your HBoot needs to be upgraded, and it sounds like perhaps you didn't run the RUU to do so. The HTCdev site notes that phones with an asterisk (*) next to them in the list must run an RUU before unlocking because the bootloader on the device did not originally ship with unlocking capabilities. So first you need to make sure your firmware is up to date (which it sounds like it is), and then you also need to download and run the RUU.
Google and HTC
BEFORE beginning the Unlock Bootloader process your product requires that you update the ROM to the version listed in the table below first, then download the RUU next to it to enable the unlocking capability.

The actual Hboot installed on OP's phone is a Hboot from a Sense based firmware (not a GPE hboot) like nkk71 noted. GPE hboot are black colored. The current firmware version installed (5.11.1700.3) include the 1.54 GPE (black) hboot (he is on 1.44). So its a Sense hboot on a GPE phone + not the right version number for the firmware installed, so its confirm what nkk71 said, that phone was previously s-off, someone flashed the wrong hboot and turned it back s-on.
That being said, you can only, on a "normal" GPE phone, unlock the bootloader using the "fastboot oem unlock" command as opposed to Sense firmware which must be unlocked using htcdev's unlock code. There is also a well known bug with newer GPE firmware (hboot 1.54+) making the bootloader not unlockable.
So in theory, since the phone is running a Sense Hboot, he should be able to unlock using htcdev's unlock code which doesn't seem to work. "fastboot oem unlock" method for GPE variant doesn't work neither.
In his situation, he probably can't unlock his phone because of the wrong hboot installed vs his current firmware version or since the phone was s-off at some point, he might have a custom hboot...

And this is not applicable to the M7, all shipped M7 bootloader were unlockable and currently, the only M7 version that can't be unlocked is Verizon due to carrier demand.
So first you need to make sure your firmware is up to date (which it sounds like it is), and then you also need to download and run the RUU.

Updating the firmware or flashing a RUU will not solve his problem with the not unlockable bootloader. He will definitively need s-off again.[...deleted...] I would try to flash the ruu and achieve s-off with sunshine.

With hboot 1.44 it's possible to unlock and S-Off with revone.
@op could you get an adb connection to your phone? Recovery for example.
If not, I can't help you more. Sorry.

Just realized he can't do what I suggested above (I would try to s-off before trying a RUU ), the phone is bricked. Your phone must be able to boot in the OS to achieve S-OFF. So he will need to flash the RUU so the phone can boot and then if he still want to unlock his bootloader, he will need to use Sunshine S-OFF (hboot will not be 1.44 anymore after the ruu).

You can only use adb commands from 2 places
1- from a booted OS with usb debug turned ON ---> not possible phone is bricked
2- From custom recovery ---> not possible bootloader is locked, even if he aleady had a custom recovery installed, he can't boot to it, bootloader must be unlocked to boot a custom recovery.
and anyway, adb connection won't help since all S-OFF exploits need a working OS to do the magic...
