So I saw the Advanced Task Manager has an update available. I click on "Install" and the usual "want to upgrade" message shows up, so I click OK. Now here's where I'm stuck: The thing is stuck on "Starting download..." and it's been like this for about 3 hours now.
HALP!!!
restart your phone.. or cancell it try it again.. i get that all the times.. something with tmobile network.. dont have a steady connection or something so it wont download.
Tried both of those and it's still stuck on "Starting download."
Yeah same here with advanced task i also bought midnight pool 2 and that wont download at all. I had this problem with Snap Photo Pro i had it downloading all night and this morning i canceled the download restarted my phone and it worked. Thats Weird can google get anything wright?
Apparently this is happening for a lot of people with premium apps and its a bug on Google/T-Mobile's side.
Like i said in the other thread about this same topic, email developer. I emailed developer and he sent me a copy of updated version and he said it is a problem on google's end. Thats weird manup i just downloaded midnight pool 2 just fine.
I had this issue with PhotoSlide and the dev was basically "tell google, dont tell me." Took me almost 40 hours and trying everything I could think of.. all of a sudden it just worked.
same thing is happening to me right on.. im trying to update advanced task manager
its something with the market cuz im on wifi
if your're still having an issue with stuck downloads, try to cancel the download then go to Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > Download Manager > Clear Data. Reboot phone. This should get rid of the stuck download.

I am sorry to say, but this does not fix it either.

That's too bad. I've had it work for me on two stuck downloads, but I should add that they were zip files downloaded from the browser and not packages from the Marketplace.
Market bug. Just tried clearing the download cache. Thanks anyway.
Problem autocorrected, bug is squished.
Surprisingly it finally allowed me to update around the time I purchased and installed Advanced Taskman the previous day. Has anyone else had this happen? Honestly it may have just been me, but if repeatable I may have a theory why this is happening.
If the same is happening to other people my theory is Google is waiting till your 24 hour refund period expires before allowing you to update. The only reason I can see why they would do that is to prevent would be pirates with root'd non-Dev phones from having the latest version before requesting a refund.
i seem to be having a slight issue with double sms notifications.2 different icons showing i have messages.im using the stock android client so im getting that icon but im also getting what looks to be handcent icon.which i am not using.not even on my phone.i have completely wiped twice and reloaded everything.have run 2 different nightlys.not sure if it makes any difference but im also running paid version of launcher pro.wanted to give it a try.if this has been resolved elsewhere and i missed it i apologize but when i searched i didnt see anything related to nexus and froyo.
thanks
What happens if you tap on the unwanted notification?
It opens up to the messages same as stock icon
Go pick up handcent on the market disable notifications reboot and then uninstall it in settings. Should go away.
Ok,I will try that.thanks
That got it.thank you. Any idea why it started doing that even after 2 wipes?
As I have gone along here I have figured out that "complete wipes" are actually far from it. Another gotcha is that there can be detritus on the sd that comes back to haunt you with various apps depending on what they cache there.
Folks;
For some reason, I can no longer get to the settings on my KFHD 7 any longer. As well, the buttons that usually appear on the bottom of the screen (Home, and the like) no longer show there - except briefly at times.
Is there some other way to get into settings for this device? I'd like to perform a factory reset, but can't get to it.
TIA;
Patrick
Are you rooted? Do you have gmail installed? I noticed gmail will glitch the notification bar at times.
if you installed GMail, try opening it and then exiting. That usually clears up the disappearing status bar for me. If hit, try holding the power button to do a re boot. Maybe twice.

The device is rooted, has GAPPs. Starting Gmail doesn't seem to clear this up.
I note that when I start Gmail, the icons flash in for a moment, and then disappear. They also do the same if I select 'Setting' from the Gmail menu upper right.

tried the Gmail app start to bring back the system menu. No joy. Have rebooted a number of times; sometimes by holding the power button until the device shuts off, most times by holding the power button, and selecting 'shut down' from the menu that appears. No luck with that, either.
Thanks for the suggestions.

Same thing happened to me. Turns out anytime GMail got mail it touched the notification bar. Going into GMail and reading the new message Fixed it. I turned off notifications for GMail and no problems since.

I suggest you turn off notification for all apps you have loaded or updated. Then go into each app and close out all pending notices like unread chat threads of phone messages. One of your apps is trying to display an alert that is bugging the notifications bar.
You can try to find a settings shortcut app or if you install a secondary launcher, you can get it in from their settings screen. I'm not sure if ADW launcher EX had that option but I just installed Go Launcher EX and the settings drawer button will take you to the stock kindle settings page.

Also, you can try NookColor Tools - it will give you access to all settings.

How do you turn off notifications? If that's in settings, I can start settings. If it's in the Gmail app, then it's too late, as I already uninstalled it.
It's a poser. Thinking now about how to uninstall other google things (framekwork, etc.) to try an clear this.

Drag down from the top of the screen. Select more, then applications, then notification settings. Un check all or most and test
A factory reset wouldn't be too bad, unless you put a TON of things on there and it's just too much work. I did a factory reset on mine already. When I was playing around and trying out different combinations and what works and what not, some how I had used up 3 GB of data already Also if anything was broke, it should be cleared out and just watch each app you install. I had to do that to figure out my battery drain problem.
I figured out what I wanted to install and the correct way of getting certain apps installed, I haven't reached 1 GB of used data yet. I'm glad to have done a reset.

I'd love to be able to do this. That's the problem, though, is that I can't get to the settings on this tablet. Is there some other way to start this app?

If there's some way to do a factory reset without using the settings, I'd do it. I'm not worried about re-installing.
I think the problem started when Amazon turned off the advertisement/lock screen. Before then, all was working well.
Since this started, I've un-installed as many apps a I can. Does anyone know how to uninstall something that doesn't show up in the 'apps' section of the phone?

In my case the top bar was available for a few seconds after rebooting. Enough time to clear notifications. It didn't bug until the first notification posted to the top bar.

There were many suggestions already on how to get to the settings page so you can do a system restore. I know for a fact you can do it with go launcher ex.
ADW launcher EX will probably do the same thing also. Just click on the three bar on the top right corner when it's installed and running and I believe there was an option to select settings, then you can get to the amazon system restore page.
Problem solved. I was trying to side-load a launcher to see if it would expose some way to get to the 'settings' on the KFHD, and I was told that loading of foreign apps was disabled. When I clicked OK to change that setting, it took me to a section of the settings that allowed me to reset the KFHD to factory default. I did so, and everything seems to be working again.
Maybe this will help anyone else with the issue.

Gmail notification plays with the notification bar and even clears the custom kindle name to "My Kindle". Removed the gmail notification from Gamil app to fix the issue.:good:
It randomly downloads and resets all my screens and set up. What is causing this?
Thanks
Try going to settings/apps/sprint id/force stop
I would factory reset it and try it all again.
The next time you get the notification, long press it in your drop down, click app info. When the sprint id screen comes up, uncheck notifications in the upper right corner. I never installed the sprint id, that's where all the bloat comes from.
Sent from the only "ONE"
I had the same issue. Here's how I stopped it while also preventing it from using up background resources.
Open up Settings->Apps
Swipe over to "ALL"
Find "Sprint Installer"
Disable it
Never be prompted by it again
This is what I did too.. .was annoyed like anything when it wiped off my screensaver and all the apps I put n homescreens
All good now

I tried this and upon restart, the message returned. In Running Apps, Sprint ID lists Sprint Installer as a service being used, and I assume this is how this Default Config continues to be presented to me. I can stop Sprint ID as well, but it all goes back into service upon restart. Any other ideas?

Are any of you having issues with the Google Now search of installed applications? I have the checkbox checked in the Google Now settings (Settings -> Phone search -> Apps- Names of installed applications), but sometimes this just stops working until I go into the settings again to uncheck and check it.
This also happens with my Contacts

Yes! This just started for me a couple days ago. The only thing that setting you mentioned above does for me now is search THROUGH installed apps for hits, but no longer brings up the app itself. Unfortunately your fix of checking and unchecking doesn't seem to do the trick for me (I'm on a Note 2).
For anyone who's not familiar with this behavior, it's a really nice feature of the main Google Now bar everyone should have on their home screen:
Punching in part of an app name in the Google Now bar pulls up hits including the app itself.
It's very convenient to for example turn on your phone, type in "Scan", and get as the top hit the Genius Scan app for example (you might only remember the "Scan" part of the name of the app).
Or type in "Face" and the Facebook app shows up. (Partials work.)
It's very similar to the iOS left-swipe search, the Windows 7 Start button, and OSX Spotlight.
Hunting and pecking through the app list is for chumps.
After today's Google+ update patch, this issue is now resolved.
same problem here..
