It randomly downloads and resets all my screens and set up. What is causing this?
Thanks
Try going to settings/apps/sprint id/force stop
I would factory reset it and try it all again.
The next time you get the notification, long press it in your drop down, click app info. When the sprint id screen comes up, uncheck notifications in the upper right corner. I never installed the sprint id, that's where all the bloat comes from.

I had the same issue. Here's how I stopped it while also preventing it from using up background resources.
Open up Settings->Apps
Swipe over to "ALL"
Find "Sprint Installer"
Disable it
Never be prompted by it again
This is what I did too.. .was annoyed like anything when it wiped off my screensaver and all the apps I put n homescreens
All good now

I tried this and upon restart, the message returned. In Running Apps, Sprint ID lists Sprint Installer as a service being used, and I assume this is how this Default Config continues to be presented to me. I can stop Sprint ID as well, but it all goes back into service upon restart. Any other ideas?

Folks;
For some reason, I can no longer get to the settings on my KFHD 7 any longer. As well, the buttons that usually appear on the bottom of the screen (Home, and the like) no longer show there - except briefly at times.
Is there some other way to get into settings for this device? I'd like to perform a factory reset, but can't get to it.
TIA;
Patrick
Are you rooted? Do you have gmail installed? I noticed gmail will glitch the notification bar at times.
if you installed GMail, try opening it and then exiting. That usually clears up the disappearing status bar for me. If hit, try holding the power button to do a re boot. Maybe twice.

The device is rooted, has GAPPs. Starting Gmail doesn't seem to clear this up.
I note that when I start Gmail, the icons flash in for a moment, and then disappear. They also do the same if I select 'Setting' from the Gmail menu upper right.

tried the Gmail app start to bring back the system menu. No joy. Have rebooted a number of times; sometimes by holding the power button until the device shuts off, most times by holding the power button, and selecting 'shut down' from the menu that appears. No luck with that, either.
Thanks for the suggestions.

Same thing happened to me. Turns out anytime GMail got mail it touched the notification bar. Going into GMail and reading the new message Fixed it. I turned off notifications for GMail and no problems since.

I suggest you turn off notification for all apps you have loaded or updated. Then go into each app and close out all pending notices like unread chat threads of phone messages. One of your apps is trying to display an alert that is bugging the notifications bar.
You can try to find a settings shortcut app or if you install a secondary launcher, you can get it in from their settings screen. I'm not sure if ADW launcher EX had that option but I just installed Go Launcher EX and the settings drawer button will take you to the stock kindle settings page.

Also, you can try NookColor Tools - it will give you access to all settings.

How do you turn off notifications? If that's in settings, I can start settings. If it's in the Gmail app, then it's too late, as I already uninstalled it.
It's a poser. Thinking now about how to uninstall other google things (framekwork, etc.) to try an clear this.

Drag down from the top of the screen. Select more, then applications, then notification settings. Un check all or most and test
A factory reset wouldn't be too bad, unless you put a TON of things on there and it's just too much work. I did a factory reset on mine already. When I was playing around and trying out different combinations and what works and what not, some how I had used up 3 GB of data already Also if anything was broke, it should be cleared out and just watch each app you install. I had to do that to figure out my battery drain problem.
I figured out what I wanted to install and the correct way of getting certain apps installed, I haven't reached 1 GB of used data yet. I'm glad to have done a reset.

I'd love to be able to do this. That's the problem, though, is that I can't get to the settings on this tablet. Is there some other way to start this app?

If there's some way to do a factory reset without using the settings, I'd do it. I'm not worried about re-installing.
I think the problem started when Amazon turned off the advertisement/lock screen. Before then, all was working well.
Since this started, I've un-installed as many apps a I can. Does anyone know how to uninstall something that doesn't show up in the 'apps' section of the phone?

In my case the top bar was available for a few seconds after rebooting. Enough time to clear notifications. It didn't bug until the first notification posted to the top bar.

There were many suggestions already on how to get to the settings page so you can do a system restore. I know for a fact you can do it with go launcher ex.
ADW launcher EX will probably do the same thing also. Just click on the three bar on the top right corner when it's installed and running and I believe there was an option to select settings, then you can get to the amazon system restore page.
Problem solved. I was trying to side-load a launcher to see if it would expose some way to get to the 'settings' on the KFHD, and I was told that loading of foreign apps was disabled. When I clicked OK to change that setting, it took me to a section of the settings that allowed me to reset the KFHD to factory default. I did so, and everything seems to be working again.
Maybe this will help anyone else with the issue.

Gmail notification plays with the notification bar and even clears the custom kindle name to "My Kindle". Removed the gmail notification from Gamil app to fix the issue.:good:
I just updated my SGS III LTE to android 4.3 and I found this annoying problem and I don't know how to get rid of it.
The problem is whenever I get a new text message, I go read it by pulling down the notification bar and clicking on the new message and after that I go back to the homescreen by pressing the back button but on the SMS icon, there's number one on it indicating that I have a new message which I just read like a second ago. So, does anyone know how to fix this?
I use the original app and I have never downloaded or installed any other SMS apps from Play store.
I've tried to clear the cache from the application and also from BadgeProvider and force closed both and booted the phone several times but still no work.
The phone isn't rooted or anything and the only way of getting rid of that is by booting the phone and I would have to do that constantly.

Go to Settings -> More -> Developer options -> Scroll down to Applications -> Uncheck "Do not keep"
If you don't have Developer settings then go to Settings -> More -> About Device -> And click on "Build number" seven (7) times until a pop up comes saying that developer's settings are now enabled. Then go back to Settings -> More and there should be Developer's settings on the list
This is probably something I've done that is really stupid but I can't figure it out. My Nexus 6 is completely stock. Just got it, haven't unlocked the bootloader and haven't rooted it.
I have gone to the Security settings and enabled "Unkonwn Sources". I have even install Fdroid after doing so.
I'm now trying to install other apps (Amazon app store, and others from fdroid) and I can't.
It opens the install screen, tells me all the permissions the app will use, and gives me the "Cancel" and "Install" buttons. However, I cannot press the "Install" button. The cancel buttons works fine, but not the install button.
Anyone know what I've done wrong?
Thanks in advance folks.

Are you using some kind of screen filter application? Try switching the phone to landscape and tap all areas of "Install"
If you're using a screen filter application, disable it and then try again.
In my experience, this is usually related to third party screen related apps that control screen brightness. In my case, lux creates this behavior, and needs to be disabled to install things. If you don't have a third party app like this installed, try temporarily disabling ambient display or auto brightness.

Thank you both for your answers.
"Lux" was the culprit. Darn.
I got really tired of pressing "Install". Did it so many times it wouldn't surprise me if there was a dent in my screen, lol.

You know the Amazon app store can also be accessed from the regular Amazon app, right? No need to sideload the Amazon App Store apk anymore
I've waiting to see if anyone else is having this issue before posting but haven't seen it. I've been having this problem since I got the 6 and rooted ect, even on stock Rom. After some time, a day or less, when a new app prompts su for permission, I can't select allow. Also I can not longer side load an app. When it shows cancel or install, I can't select install, only cancel. Weirdest thing. I'm on my 3rd Rom, and it just started.

Hello all, over the last 2-3 days when installing apps with known widgets they aren't showing up so you can select and add. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app and nothing. If I restart the device then the widget will show up to add. Another odd thing is when the app is uninstalled the widget is showing up to add. The app is uninstalled and this is happening. I try to add the widget to see what it does and it creates the little Android. If you long press to add the widget to the home screen it gives a meassgae that reads "Create Widget and Allow Access? After you create widget, Google app can access all data it disolays. Always allow Google Apps to create widgets and access their data with a check box. There are also cancel and delete options. They both don't do anything. If you check the box and select create it brings you back to the widget select area. Device is stock. No recent apps aside from one bad weather app. Any ideas? This is a new issue aside from the early shutdown before 0% battery. First it was 2% 15% and now 18% tonight. Disappointing for a $650 device. Thanks!
I didn't understand, actually what are you talking about?
Sorry, I realize it may be confusing. It seems to be unusual. I've attached a screenshot of what shows then you try add a widget that is from an app that is uninstalled. There should not be a widget listed in the listing to add when an app is uninstalled . Now the initial issue is when an app is installed that offers a widget I'm not seeing it in the widget listing area. I've uninstalled the app and reinstalled and widget still doesn't show in list. If I reboot the phone then I usually see the widget. Very odd! Any thoughts?
Having this problem too. Just added CurrentWidget and its not showing under "add widget". Restarted and the widgets there. Stock 5.1
I have the same problem , you have to reboot phone after adding widgets each time

Yeah, there are others with the same issue. For sure seems like an operating system bug. 5.1 update did not fix it. It just started a few week ago. I wonder if it has something to do with the stock launcher.
I've always thought that was the norm, but others feel it is a bug.
Try restarting system UI after install instead of a reboot and I'm told that should accomplish the same thing for you to see the new widgets in the list.
Are you guys using the standard Google launcher? I have never seen this issue but run Apex or Nova
