Maps is annoying - Samsung Galaxy Exhibit 4G

I tried upgrading from 6.9 to 7.5, but had the same screen shudder issues, so i was downgrading, again. i went for 6.14 this time, but for some reason it's not installing. I have tried a couple of different downloads with ES File Explorer and each has failed to install. Really annoying. I will try to flash it in recovery, from the zip, but I don't have very high hopes. Any ideas?
Edit: I'm an idiot. I hadn't uninstalled 7.5..... Everything's cool.

use any cm ION based rom. if you have troubles with installing cm11 or it bugs out on you. try using the adc kernel in cm mass op or cm10.1 or 10.2. CM10.2 now has ion kernel and imo is now better than 10.1 and aoip

I tried it only after installing cars1198's hybrid kernel. That kernel made the phone run faster and use less battery. If wifi worked, I'd be all over it. As it is, I went back to my old kernel and got my WiFi back. Still might use the hybrid kernel. Just have not decided. Maps was not smooth with it, though, with the screen showing static.

Thanks. I'm wary of going on CM, though. Everyone uses it. I don't like being one of a crowd. I'm happy for now.

[Q] Grrrrr. Stupid Phone

Ok, I've been trying to flash the stable release of CM. My phone will get to the HTC logo and not move off of it to save it's own life. (it's come close to flying through a wall or three). I've used Rom manager to flash it, I've used just putting the zip on my sd card. notta. Any ideas what could be doing this? I'm running CM 6.1 RC right now.
why dont you try another rom like aosp or something...give it a try...if it boots then try CM again
did you find a way to do it?
Well I got asop on there, went to flash cm and the same crap happened again, getting stuck on the htc logo. I think I'm going to just re flash asop and see how I like it. Gonna miss cm though.

[Q] Slimbean / SpeedyGonzales and virtual memory swapfiles

I've just gotten around to loading the Slimbean ROM on my Exhibit II, and I'm loving it! Really awesome.
But still wondering, like in this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=33081432&postcount=2103, if it is possible to set up a virtual memory swap file with these kernels at all.
I'm still on the original kernel as part of the Slimbean ROM, since I had some odd troubles with the SpeedyGonzales ones (the 1.5 version never gets past the boot animation, and the other one does boot but WIFI is dead).
Is it possible?
only using custom kernel and using the swap mod i did but is no longer posted

Are they going to be re-posted somewhere?
I just tried the SpeedyGonzalez_OC.zip kernel again (I think this is 1.4?) that I downloaded from Blownco. It boots and I get all the OC options, but it still kills my wifi. I never loaded the OTA update to go to the UVLG3 update (I'm still on the original). Could that be why my wifi dies with the OC kernel?
Couldn't he just flash jocala ps then upgrade
Edit nevermind just chekced my baseband uvle3

I went through re-flashing it, using Peach Sunrise long enough to get the new baseband version.
Unfortunately, it still won't let WIFI work.

[Q] Experiencing random reboots w/ Semaphore kernel?

I've been running on stock CM10.1 since it was released. But, then, I wanted to try Semaphore. Alas, every time I flash it, after less then 3-4 hours, my SGS starts rebooting. I've tried it on like 10 or 12 different nightlies, starting from January. Any idea what's causing this? Any suggestions?
My specs are: SGS i9000, iNand version, CM10.1 latest nightly.
I must mention that i've even tried leaving Semaphore untouched after flashing, as in not changing any of the default settings. Sill, the same.
I hope you guys can help me out here. Thanks a lot!
I had same Problem only a full wipe solved it . Internal and external SD completly wiped.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda premium
Do a full wipe and cache and dalvik try then if not check semaphore settings with manager maybe some weird overclock settings
Already did full wipes w/ fresh install of CM10.1
As for Sema manager, I never did any OC on it.
Maybe your using the wrong kernel version check if your using the right one. S or no s version?

I used the non-S version, that's the one for CM10.1, isn't it?
This is bugging the hell outta me. I've tried 11 nightlies, including the M2 CM10.1. All the same, after no more than a few hours, the random rebooting starts.
Any other ideas?
@PB I've been experiencing the exact same issue with Semaphore for months.
I'm on a different variant (Vibrant), but the outcome is the same.
At this point, I've sort of given up & am chalking it up to something in the kernel (bigmem?) is incompatible with my particular device (kind of like how some phones can OC & remain stable while others of the exact same model cannot).
Did you ever figure out how to get it to play nice on yours? :fingers-crossed:

anyone tried latest nightly ?
I tried the older one but I lost my root when Install the rom. And battery drain is too high.
Well, I tried it (10/06 release). Seemed like a nice rom, fast and no touch or stability issues. GPS also worked for me which is great, cause my GPS has been rather wonky for the past year or so (possible hardware defect). However, 2 big issues made me go back to Marvel V11:
1. I couldn't get my contacts from SDcard to show up, no matter what. It didnt see them and wouldn't import the vcards, for whatever reason.
2. Neither Superuser nor SuperSU working, which kind of kills the purpose of having a rooted phone, lol.
If you can fix those it'll be a great rom.

[ROM] Unofficial Liquidsmooth 4.3 XT926 & XT925

I am making unofficial builds of Liquidsmooth android 4.3. These build may not necessarily represent the final work of team liquid on android 4.3 and would not have been possible without team liquid doing all the heavy work to merge the 4.3 changes. This uses the same kernel as cm-10.2. I strongly suggest that you have a back-up and the stock file to flash, just in case. I am using TWRP but this should work with CWM too. Thanks to the razr-qcom team too.
Must have unlocked bootloader, use 4.3 Gapps and do a data wipe before flashing.
Known Issues:
1. Bluetooth
2. Halo notifications
First boot will take a little while (five minutes+).
If you loose root access
1. Go to superuser >settings
2. Change Superuser Access to "Apps and Adb"
3. If that doesn't work then also check the "Declared Permission" box
4. Still have trouble try reading this g+ post: http://tinyurl.com/mbdoz4c

I am running the cobalt theme.
Battery screenshot is with about three hours screen time and on the pc for a little bit flashing new a new rom. Plus I have a maxx too.
Doing any of this is at your own risk and only you are responsible for your device.
I enjoy this ROM very much
Nice to see an official thread.

I know the 925 ROMs run on the atrix HD so I can give it a try but is it possible to replace the baseband/radio packed in this ROM before flashing? The vanquish baseband only let's my atrix connect to edge on T-Mobile despite correct apn

Gave the atrix build a go and things look fine. Two things: Bluetooth share fc message after bootup and settings fc as well.

Is anyone else suffering with issues in the camera app? It keeps telling me "Please insert SD card" with the little sign never disappearing. I do have an SD card, and it does read perfectly, but it still won't let me take pictures or record video. I thought of using my phone's storage, but it doesn't give me that option. I've used both stock camera app and JB Camera+.
New builds up last night and bluetooth comes on without crashing. I don't have a bluetooth device with me right now to fully test.
Tried to clean flash a few times last night and it kept either not passing the moto logo or it would boot then get half way thru setup and reboot then get stuck...

Everything is working great for me on the latest build, didn't run into any random reboots either.

I tried the latest atrix build liquid build 3.0
And i encountered some wifi issues it was connecting just fine yesterday but today Sep-07 it says avoiding connection lol I'm in front of the router & keyboard sometimes lags & if i keep trying to type it FC's me xD!!
I feel like liquid smooth 2.9 was the best but keyboard issues are also present in 2.9 battery is excellent 8-9 hours of use battery was still on 40% normal atrix battery
Also is there anyway to change some stuff to make the phone lightweight in resources sometimes I'm left with 300-200 ram lol why?? The phone is suppose to have 1GB of Ram i have a S2 with a custom Rom & with all the same apps & it haves 600-500 Ram left ... More than the atrix HD :-/

See I tried multiple reboot / clean flashes afterwards and even tried earlier builds with different gapps releases and I still get constant reboots during initial phone config.

is there any place to see the change log between versions be nice to know if its worth trying to flash
Still receiving System UI crashes every once in a while, otherwise very buttery and snappy rom.

Its working good here just tested against my Desktop will try my external speakers later but no problem so far and it is smooth for me I did DL from Liquids G+ page but I am guessing some of this is yours due to it being your kernel - either way persistance pays off Thanks
