3.04 remove system protection? - Sprint HTC One (M7)

My OTA is 3.04.651.2 I can't update busybox or do quite a few things because the system restarts and crashes when I do. I read that's because of the kernel's system RW protection but I can't find anywhere to get rid of that for 3.04.651.2 I tried the others and it makes the phone unable to boot.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2496687

Flash a custom rom most if not all have System RW disabled.
I would also suggest getting S-OFF because HTC has a way of making things harder for us to modify our phones with every OTA update.

I've tried various roms, but none work on my phone apparently, none are built via 3.04

Wanting to flash to stock rom Optus Australia

Just wondering if it is possible to flash to a stock rom for HTC Incredible S in Australia (Optus) to get official HTC updates? If so, please let me know which RUU/ROM to use. Thanks. Otherwise which ICS rom is suited to Australia since the Asia one doesn't actually list Australia as a language/location when setting up which causes problems down the track when installing apps.
Currently rooted with ICS ASIA WWE version and hate how the language and location and stuff is not for Australia (doesn't even list Australia).

Hi, thanks for the ruu, I S-OFF 'd my phone using an XTC-Clip, when i got it, not done anything with it or any other Android phones since, so i am a little unsure of some things, can you help?
It is a HTC Incredible S on Optus plan:
LOCKED
VIVO PVT SHIP S-OFF RL
HBOOT-2.00.0000
RADIO-3822.10.08.28_M
eMMC-boot
Nov 1 2011,20:33:03
Is the RUU you linked to the same as the official ICS update from Optus that my phone has been asking me to update for the last month or so?
And looking at my current configuration, what do you suggest I do? As i have heard of quite a few problems updating from Optus themselves.
I would like to keep the phone as is, S-OFF, Rooted etc. but have the new ICS update, or do you recommend a better ROM?
Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.
S
Have you got root and a custom recovery? If you can flash a ROM install android resolution HD if you want stock ics sense 3.6
Is more optimized than the optus update, especially if you tweak it up it also doesn't come with all the crap the optus one comes with
I would avoid the optus ota because it's laggy and slow. Put simply it suuuucks compared to the custom roms available

I managed to get the stock RUU and flash back so it updated properly which was great. Now I would like to flash to a stock rom that will keep updating on the network so I can sell it without all the Optus crap.
1. Is it possible to get a rom that will keep updating to official (Non-Optus) Android OS?
2. If so, can you provide me with a link to the RUU/ROM so I can do it.
Details when I boot in recovery mode:
VIVO PVT SHIP S-OFF RL
HBOOT-2.02.0002
RADIO-3831.18.00.28_M
eMMC-boot

I should be able to figure out how to get the custom recovery thing back on it... Did have clockworkmod before.
Cheers.

[Q] What else will I need to do to move to International version?

I've read through the thread a few times, but I just wanted to make sure I've done everything right up to this point:
Sense 5.0 Stock AT&T
Android 4.1.2
Software number - 1.26.502.10
Stock Kernel
rooted phone
unlocked bootloader
installed TWRP
modelid: PN0712000
Build number 1.26.502.10 CL166754 release-keys
s-off via revone and removed tampered
CID - 11111111
hboot - 1.44.0000
radio - 4A.14.3250.13
What else will I need to do to move to International version? I would also like the latest radio for the US / ATT version.
I want to remain s-off, unlocked bootloader, & rooted (or at least be able to revert to these if lost during the process).
I'd like to try these over in the HTC ONE section:
Google Edition Conversion. 4.3 RUU Zip pre-rooted -

Thanks for your help!
Backup you current ROM in TWRP.
For GE conversion, just follow instructions there to run the RUU. Just be aware that you'll need to follow the necessary steps to convert back to stock if you ever wanted to.
The other 2 are flashable in recovery (may need the new firmware to flash Mike's GE version). Flash away!

[Q] Flashing AOSP and GPE roms S-Off?

I have an S-on device, and I'm not entirely sure what that entails. (I know that it means I only have permission to flash recovery and not radio or boot or anything. I'm just not clear on the consequences of that.I come from an S-off HTC Inspire, which didn't have google editions or anything like that, so all I ever worried about when I flashed a rom was backing it up. But I'm looking at the Skydragon mixed version, and it has an entirely different method of installing for S-ON phones (flashing new boot.img, etc.) None of those steps is particularly scary to me, but I'm wondering WHY they're needed.
What's with the new boot img? Does it have something to do with getting GPE roms or is it just what the guys at Skydragon have set up?
What happens if I just flash it like "normal" roms (pretending that I'm s-off and flashing from recovery)?
Right now I'm on an AOSP rom. Assuming I go through the extended procedure for installing skydragon S-on, will I be able to move back from Skydragon to AOSP again, if I want to?
Thanks for bearing with me.
Do you have a link to these instructions? I'm curious as well.
The Skydragon ROM that I'm referring to is here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2423492
On second look, it seems that there aren't any fancy instructions for THIS particular build of Skydragon. It says "unlocked OR S-off). I must have been pretty distracted when I was reading this. Plus all the separate builds are sort of confusing. So that's nice!
But here's a build with the extended process I was asking about, if anybody wants to answer my questions anyway.

S-ON = Security ON; S-OFF = Security OFF
some devices of HTC with S-ON does not support flashing boot partition (boot.img file) via recovery and you have to flash them in unlocked bootloader , fastboot mode, like HTC One X (S-ON) and vice versa
S-OFF gives you full access to modify all partitions (boot, radio, etc), unlike S-ON
now on our HTC One S-ON, there is no restriction to modify boot partition, in other words, you can flash every ROM without worrying about the boot.img file seperatly (because it's already in the ROM zip file and will be flashed along with the ROM)
as for the SkyDragon ROM mention, the text is from his One Xs' ROM so don't worry
i know this sounds confusing, sorry for my bad English
review this thread for better understanding S-OFF

Unless you already wiped the ROM, there's no need to reinstall it. Just install the SuperSU zip in recovery. That's it.

sprint M7, android 4.3, HTC Sense verision5.0, stock 3.04.651.2, already, modified s

hi to all,
thank you for all your efforts
i have a: sprint M7, android 4.3, HTC Sense verision5.0, stock 3.04.651.2, already, modified s-off and htc dev unlocked, hboot 1.55, but not sim unlocked (vdm client has stopped unexpectedly issue now), so:
1.- should i just flash this: [ROM] Bad Boyz Sprint ONE ROMz | 5.0.2 | 6.23.651.10 | Deodexed | *Updated 11/23/15, from twrp and then sim unlock with (HtcOMADM_SPCS.zip, NEW [email protected] or ODEX-HtcOMADM_SPCS.zip),? or i have to update h-boot and/or radio, and then sunshine etc?
2.- or first should i flash a stock Sprint_HTC_One_m7wls_1.29.651.10_RUU.zip and then redo, all s-off and htcdev, and then simunlock, to start upgrading after?
3.- or should i just keep the 4.3 and flash the Stock W Goodies Sense 5.5 Black and Sexy, and then simunlock? so i will no update h-boot and sunshine etc?
i want to know what procedure or which changes are needed to properly work in any of the previous questions, please, i read a lot of info, so what would be the easiest way to use it and simunlock it
thank you very much indeed for a guide or tip on this.
