LG Thrill wifi problem - LG Thrill 4G

I am having issues with my LG Thrill P925 just updated to ICS. The wifi will not turn on. This was also an issue before I updated. Perfectly good phone except for this issue. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!!!

I have the same issue with wifi. I'm about to update the phone but don't really expect it to fix the wifi issue after reading this.

I dont think there is much development for 4G Touchpads since its more rare than the wifi only ones. Almost everyone has a wifi only device. You MIGHT be able to run android on it but may only be able to use the wifi feature. Havent heard much about it.

Only thing I've found was from JCSullins located here: http://goo.im/devs/jcsullins/cmtouchpad/Touchpad4G
He has a couple of CM9 snapshots built for 4G - but they're not as new as the official nightlies.

Yes the 4g works. We just need to do some refactoring in order to have nightlies. I'm not sure what the status of the RIL on CM10 is yet.

Note I was not the developer of this, please thank Dhacker, Stargo and Hashcode, along with all other devs who work on Cyanogenmod and on our OMAP 4 Moto devices.
I'm testing it right now in Slot 2, gonna see what's broken so we can get a list going, and then we can work with the source, hopefully.

4G works. Wifi Works. Camera Works. That's all I can really test right now, since I'm at school. I have yet to test Bluetooth, rotation, prox sensor, 3g, etc.

4.4 Gapps -------> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2397942
Dang Nevermind didnt see em in the folder
1. No wifi tether
2. No 3g
3. Pictures in recent (hold home key) are distorted.
I'll post what else I come across.
I've come across all of the same issues. Minor screen issues with distortion... Other than that, it's pretty much a daily driver. I think I'll remove Carbon ROM and replace it with CM11 in slot one. It's going to be a daily driver for me. GPS seems stable.
Are you guys geting the weird random screen glitches?
Yeah, that's one of the bugs. It's not that bad though. It's only occasionally.
Yall lucky you don't need wifi tether lol. I don't have home Internet and I depend on my phones tether

Yeah been getting those its a problem with OMAP phones as TI has not updated the GPU drivers or kernel for our phones so were stuck with a 3.0 kernel (which is eol now) and old depreciated drivers which wont be updated either but I have faith in the devs that they will be able to overcome these problems

Same issue the galaxy nexus is experiencing with 4.4 :banghead:

I've tried it , it seems that there are no serious issues and can be daily used! The same issue as nexus s---su permission denied, and we should flash a supersu-1.75.zip to avoid this. Thanks Dhacker29 for his hard work!

I didn't notice an issue with SU yet. I'll flash the update later.
Anyone able to do a screenshot on the build from today? It gives a notification saying 'Couldn't save screenshot. Storage may be busy.'
If anybody finds a way to get wifi tether to work, let me know. I'm eager to run this as my daily driver but I need wifi tether lol

Won't allow any devices to connect to it. My wifi tether turns on just fine. When I try to connect with my pc or PS it fails to connrct
Holy crap Batman. I can't believe how well this ROM is performing. Got to hand it to Dhacker, for a first build this is just amazing
Here's what I've tested so far:
WiFi connected after first boot.
GPS works as expected.
Syncing Google accounts took a bit longer but work.
SMS/MMS work but after the first boot was getting a weird message that "APN was not configured" or something to that effect. After another reboot MMS worked
WiFi tether does not work, phone looks as it is working as a hotspot but devices can not connect.
Can not test 3g at the moment.
Have only seen the screen artifacting once or twice. Definitely not an issue in my book
Benchmarks for what they are worth are on par with CM 10.1.3
I must admit I was one of the Na Sayers about 4.4 coming to our bionics but I must say Dhacker has made me eat my words:beer::beer::beer::beer::beer:
Truly impressed.

For me the screen artifacts were only with rotation on but I haven't seen it since I locked rotation and that's how I prefer it anyway.

android system battery drain

Hey guys and gals. Ive noticed my battery draining a lot quicker than it was a few weeks ago and it turns out that my biggest drain is the "android system". I don't know what could be the cause of this but it's really starting to get frustrating. Has anyone else come across this?

I had that same effect after the update to 4.3. It was solved by just uncheck the box at Settings/Location/Google-Apps... so GPS for Google apps off.

The only thing I see not working is NFC... It don't even turns on so might be something in the device tree. I have never used that feature and may never.
Sent from my LG-VS980
Installed this last night and it feels very snappy, can confirm that nfc doesn't turn on. I do get correct carrier info (Verizon Wireless instead of Verizon)
Edit: no GPS either, showing 0/0 satellites on GPS toolbox
Yeah, GPS Status says no GPS device found on device. Rom runs real nice aside from that.

Not sure if it's fully aosp based or still using cm parts, but it's probably like cm based roms, there's an old commit that needs to be cherry picked forward to get GPS kinda working. Though it's still flaky even with that commit. I have the commits listed on post 2 of that PAC thread, if that's easier than searching JPCs thread for the past where he listed them.
It's the commit for checking if messages are supported or not. Even with that though, GPS will cut in and out in most roms.
Also USB tethering does not work, it says USB not connected. WiFi tethering works though!
As far as the "no GPS found" issue, a rom we had a while back did not have the actual GPS hardware file, after we pulled it from another rom it worked. I forgot where that file is located (/system/etc maybe?), could that be one of the problems?
Edit: /system/lib/ had no libgps, maybe that's where it is supposed to be?

System/lib/lib.utils.so and system/lib/hw/gps.msm8974.so might be gps.generic.so as well.
Fustercluck doesn't work for this ROM, from what I can tell. It hangs on the boot animation.before that everything looked good, but I didn't try GPS or NFC like others reported

This would need reported in the kernel thread so he can see why there is a compatibility issue.

Updated this morning. On first boot it showed my EFS stuff had been wiped. After a reboot, it's back but now my system status is Custom. Not sure I'm a fan of this update, but I might just reset with SmartSwitch to fix it.
EDIT: Seems that was a minor glitch, after a minute or so it's back to Official. Strange.

I've been going through Google + posts and members are claiming that RAM management is fixed or greatly improved. I DO NOT agree with that. It's still the same crap for me.
Auto rotation is way faster now!!
Can anybody concur with this??
update as well, too early to declare, but I think battery drain has reduced. We shall get better picture in few days.
fyi, you are able to odin TWRP and flash gavin's unikernel.! so there is that
i have no idea as to what they fixed. right now my phone is having sync errors. sometimes technology really blows.
Not sure if it's placebo effect or what, but things definitely feel "smoother" where I used to see lag, hiccups, stutters.
