Trying to find root for my new phone wasn't as hard as I initially though after finding there isn't any available on this forum (which is odd)
Well I found this 1 click root method, tested and it works great.

I have verified with root checker basic that root access is granted and it installed SuperSU.
The link to download the root program is http://www.kingoapp.com/android-root.htm
Next I will be installing CWM then Cyanogen11..lets hope this works
Neither CWM and TWRP work for this phone..SO no way to easily install Cyanogenmod11..Well suppose will have to just be 'happy' with the stock fodder

I have been following this forum since I got this phone right when it came out in september. And I did a basic search and found the root here:ROOT G730A
I guess some people can't handle a simple search function.

I've been viewing these forums for quite sometime just never posted before. I was one of the people with the LG Revolution that lost the Super One Click Root when the OOA Update hit over the summer.
I have SU still installed and its been updated even though I can not gain root access and since I do not have root access I am unable to uninstall it. I have tried the One Click Root Tool for the LG Esteem after upgrading to GB. It say's that its completed but Root Check denies the fact it is rooted.
I tried Super One Click and it states the device is in fact rooted but when I try to use any root access apps it states "Unable to write". Any ideas on why it still wont allow the root to edit the read/write access for my device?
Thank you,
Mike
hey :9 I'm having the same issue. Heres to hoping someone figures it out

Do you know how to use adb?

I'm from the Esteem side and some people were having the same problem after the superuser unroot fiasco and people couldn't re-root with the original one click because it did not clear the old su. Check over on Android forums/Esteem/All things root section. It was fixed by adding a few command lines to the script to clear the old su and give you the new su and binaries. HTH

Ty this worked wonders! I found it rather fast. Only problem with this guys batch is the fact you have to manually reboot your device for it to work. After I rebooted my apps were asking for SU access!
Here is a link for anyone else suffering from the unable to root because of SU already locked on your device.
androidforums.com/esteem-all-things-root/435750-one-click-root-updated-final-w-superuser-3-0-6-binary-3-0-3-download.html
Just remember after you've run the batch file to unplug your device and reboot.
Has anyone else had problems with this? I've tried CF Auto-Root (latest version from yesterday) and, when that didn't work, flashed CWM and an old style zip package. Strangely enough Root Explorer seemed to have root while Titanium Backup could not get it. The SuperUser app was missing from the App Drawer. I tried a million things including unzipping Superuser.apk and su, putting them in the right place and changing owner and permissions. Eventually TB got root and I gave the device a reboot......and root was gone. At that point I flashed Auto Root once more and now it it's OK.
I thought that CF Auto root was meant for the GT-i9300 and not the 4G LTE version (GT-i9305). If you do have the i9305, please follow the instructions from the below link, it is what I used 2 weeks ago and works great. Also search the threads as well, lots of helpful information.

Well thanks.....but I DID use the 9305 version of auto root. I had previously (on an older 4.1.2) version used the wrong auto root (and fixed it)......it was late at night and I have multiple auto roots floating around as I have a 9300 as well
But this was definitely different.
That's the question. Update downloaded ok but I did not install it as I did not want to lose Root access. I have not seen anyone who used Geohot's Active Root to root their phone get the OTA installed.
I have a ton of stuff quarantined (what happens to them? Do they get released/un-quarantined?)
I have other programs that only work with root access such as Ti Backup and AdAway. Will they just cease to function?

You might want to be careful with that. From what I've read in the S4 forums after some unknown amount of time the update will install itself. The only known way to prevent it it to freeze wssync with Titanium Backup. If it never prompts you to install the update you're probably fine, but if it does I'd look into the TiBu option.

I have done it several times. After achieving root with King Root and successfully installing TWRP I chose to remove Kingroot. It worked well but some have said it is a bit uncertain whether or not the developers of Kingroot are monitoring your phone. I used super-sume to remove Kingroot and replace it with Chainfire's SuperSu.
http://androidmtk.com/replace-kinguser-with-supersu
Another method for removal is to do it manually with the following procedure.
http://www.w0lfdroid.com/2015/05/How-to-Remove-Replace-KingUser-KingRoot-with-SuperSU.html
I had various problems with either of these methods working until I did the swap without my SD card installed.
Correct me if I am posting this in the wrong forum.
Lately I have been getting an error in root checker saying that root access is not properly operating and this stops me from using any root application as it says I need root access to use, on top of that some of my modules aren't working. But the thing is everything is fine and I gain full root access again when I restart my phone? Not sure what I did wrong but if someone could let me know that would be a big help. Thanks ?
And this too
