While it's really nice, unfortunately it caused me to eat my phone. Now I'm out $100 from opening an insurance claim.

Torrent Droid: Scan Barcodes, Get Torrents

You are standing in a store looking for a new DVD to buy. Rather than buying it, you photograph the barcode with your phone and press a couple of buttons. By the time you make it home, the movie is waiting for you in your torrent client. You can with Torrent Droid.

Not sure what to think about this, but it's an interesting concept, definitely.
that is sweet. I cant wait for it.
wow...the ShopSavvy concept adapted to aiding in breaking copyright laws
wouldn't develop/sell/distribute something like this, to be honest. See piratebay for how you can be held responsible for aiding someone in downloading stuff they shouldn't download...
Looks interesting to say the least. I like one of the comments saying its like a new way to shop lift. On a side note has anyone tried that Droid2Droid app on the market saying it works with limewire and other P2P sites? $10 is way to much money for an app like that.

Swedish laws differ from US laws. It's legal in the US to make programs like this.

It's definitely not illegal to create programs like this in Sweden either. It might be illegal to run a tracker in Sweden though, at least one you make money off of.
It looks like a very interesting way to take 10 times longer to do a simple torrent search. Way to innovate! LOL

Absolutely do but unfortunately Artists don't do free work. They don't realize if we don't get paid, hard for us to pay upfront for something a profit will never be rendered or even on soon to be paid apps, can't always pay upfront, which is why my kickstarter has a few big apps but need funding to hire artists/org for characters for games.
So, Photoshop tutorials and not following them and mixing is unfortunately how a lot of my Gfx are made. We have gfx artists that do our clients websites but to have side work, gets pricy. ;/
I'm probably going to look into doing something during the holidays break, I've never had Photoshop lessons but I can do basic graphics. If I get the motivation, I probably wouldn't mind thinking up a redesign for this app.

Anything you can come up with, would be greatly appreciated. Always nice to see what others would like things to be . You will of course be credited on anything provided and happy to share AD commission which is like pennies but they supposedly eventually add up, which I have yet to see but happy to share .
Iron man live wallpaper. Is it good enough? And can I post such thing in android market?
You will probably get your account suspended because Warner Brothers will complain that you are using copyright footage from the movie. Be very careful about these things. I am making live wallpapers now and every time I have to be extremely careful. If you expect to sell something in the market make sure you made it. Don't rely on pirated bits and pieces here and there.

Thank you for replying. I had a premonition about it. Now I have to start learning making graphics.
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
i have done one myself and it has been in the market for a few months now. but i didn't use any footage or image for my lwp (its iron man flying through opengl buildings). even the iron man image flying was taken from my toy. haven't heard from anyone to take it down, so i guess i'm safe for now. then again the only thing i'm using is the name 'iron man' and the rest was built by myself; so maybe its a diff case.
though there's loads of wallpapers apps out there using copyrighted images blatantly and nothing has been done to take them down.
Not sure of the legalities but I like it either way. Good job.

Perhaps a live wallpaper of the ark reactor that slowly glows. I think there is a GIF of an ark reactor that could be a good jumping off point.

I'm guessing here, since you didn't post the reason your app was pulled, but from your description I'm guessing a copyright problem. If you are using material obtained from somebody else (iOS files, movie images, etc.) be sure you have appropriate license to use and redistribute them. Finding something lying around the Internet doesn't count. You need to contact the copyright owner and negotiate a license. Easy for GPL or Creative Commons stuff, those have licensing terms clearly spelled out at the distribution point. Getting permission to copy stuff from Apple or Universal will be a touch harder.
I am not a lawyer. I suggest talking to one in your jurisdiction before releasing your next project to see how to stay legal.
Using an image which belongs to a big company will certainly be a copyright infringement, and they certainly will not negotiate a license. As soon as they report you (or someone else does) then Google will almost certainly ban that app and eventually your dev account, so I would be very careful. These big companies have people who's job it is to search out such infringments, so your chance of getting banned is pretty high I would say.

if that's the case then why do literally dozens of apps with iOS in the title come up when searched in the play store?

I just wanted to share my experience with Nova Launcher Prime and their changes to their family sharing. This is effective immediately. It's sad that I really enjoy the app but this is to mainly inform those who share as a family.
Could you explain in a few simple words what just happened?
Thanks!
All my family members have their personal Prime since.. I don't remember when.
Does it affect me in any way?
I wiped my step daughters phone trying to resolve an issue with he screen not turning back on. Though it was a deep sleep issue. When I restored the OS it wasn't listed as able to download. In the screenshot it gives the date of purchases affected by the new policy. I have this app shared with wife and kids. I imagine they will eventually push an update to block my wife's app.
What's the change? Was it permitted to share with family members prior to 07/02 16?
3char
Yes, I've been sharing it almost since they came out with the family sharing. I've owned Prime since July 2012.

Yeah, I have Prime but never heard of this family share...
Does this include the beta version?

I'm pretty sure I'm a beta tester, don't think it matters. Keep in mind this isn't saying everyone has to repurchase the app, just cuts the date off for older purchases directly related to family sharing.
There are plenty of other good launchers out there. Apex is pretty much the same as nova. Hyperion is another great better launcher than nova that is made by the same people who developed substartum. Hell, we have a ton of amazin launchers here on xda. It's not like nova is the only good launcher. I know it's sh$%ty of them to do that, but I'd go with other options if I were you.

I dont understand what the OP is cribbing about.
Family share is valid from July 2016. It is totally up to the dev to make it family share or not.
The price of the app is so small compared to any single device you purchase and the support is amazing.
Cannot understand why people want everything for free... Can you not see the amount of time the devs put into these apps.
No wonder why some good apps are dying out.
Also if you dont want to purchase use some of the other launchers out there.. There are many that are free

Agreed. Can't believe someone is making a big deal over a few dollars.
It's 80% off right now so it's only 99 cents.
The "loyal customer" line made me laugh. If you really cared about supporting them, you'd purchase their (very reasonably priced) app again and move on.
Such entitlement.
Nova is worth more than the price they ask for, just buy each member their own Prime.
And how can you call yourself a loyal customer if you ever only bought that one thing from them and then went on to abuse a program they're a part of?
It's amazing to me that they continue t support this cheap app instead of brining out a new version to buy.
