If anyone wants the vol/brightness sliders just go into the build prop and change
ro.build.target_operator=VZW to ro.build.target_operator=SPR
As opposed to using ATT as that gave fc's when ever i tried making a call,
Edit: after rebooting i am now getting the same fc's as when changing to att in the build prop so unless someone else has any insight its looking like this may not b a good way to get the sliders
Edit 2: someone suggested to try using OPEN as a provider so if someone wants to try that and report back that'd be great.

I got so many FCs after doing it to ATT, I'm sort of terrified to try it again. Took me hours, had to finally restore. Couldn't even get anything up cause of the FCs.
Seems to work well...just changes all the icons (kinda liked the way they were. Changes them with G2 exposed but not the same. Oh well.) Thanks

Yea i got fc's w att too, but i think that was cuz of the fact that its gsm, sprint didn't give me fc's though
Doing this also changes some of the icons right?

Yea they're a little different
Changing "VZW" to "SPR" can bring the volume slider to my phone, but no brightness slider.
And a lot of com.android.phone FC's, cannot make a call at all.
Some other differences: I'm on Malladus 1.2.5 ROM, the status bar icons are all white. After applying this mod, signal bars are blue, and "3G" label is placed above the signal bars.
Anyway, phone is not usable, I reverted back.

Yea its weird, i was on digital dream and at first every thing seemed ok i even made a call but then i rebooted and I too lost the brightness slider then when someone called me it started fc'ing hard core like when changing it to ATT. At this point im stumped
Try changing operator to OPEN instead of VZW

You guys know that volume slider appears when playing media? Right. Just seeing because I didn't know before and. Just found out and that's great because now it's there when you need it and dust clutter status bar. Brightness shudder would be nice though

Hey Guys,
Just a warning:
I missed the brightness and volume slider on my Verizon Lg G2 so I changed ro.build.target_operator=VZW --> ro.build.target_operator=ATT.
It worked but became kind of buggy.
I decided to change back to ro.build.target_operator=VZW and then my phone completely crashes. Something about the System UI breaking or something. Now I have to go back to stock (crossing fingers I can unbrick it...). Not worth the hassle!
There is a program that mimics and does the brightness setting better imo which I will be using:

Just flashed Serendipity, so far I like it. I do have one quick question tho:
Is it possible to have my phone set up to vibrate when I receive Texts/Phonecalls with this ROM?
I've tried everything that I can think of in the settings menu and haven't had any luck yet. And I searched the Serendipity ROM thread but didn't find anything specifically talking about this.

Go to Settings->Sound and set Vibrate to always, but I don't know that that works for SMS, you may have to set that manually, so go into the SMS app, then go menu->settings there, then go to notification settings and set vibrate to always in there as well.
In the sound settings, gor for the last option. It's disabled, so choose the option above it, turn it on, set the vibrate strenght and turn off the above one, it will save the options and vibration strength.
Attempted both of those:
I have my vibration intensity turned up to the maximum level and still have absolutely no vibration whatsoever.
Does anyone know of a vibration fix or anything for the Captivate that might alleviate this issue?
Try this: go into the SMS app>Settings>Notification Settings>Vibrate Pattern
You can set it to Normal/Medium/Long/Multiple Short/Multiple Long.
That should work for you!

I believe you are talking about the "Haptic Feedback", right? If so, then I don't think this effects incoming notifications. That is only for the vibration per screen touch...
Tried what you mentioned seth and still have no luck.
I have no haptic feedback and have no vibration when receiving a phonecall or text message.
I attached some screen captures I took showing that I have the proper boxes checked.
I have no vibration whatsoever however. I receive no haptic feedback when I hit my home soft key and I receive no vibration when I receive a text/phone call.
I'm kind of at a loss for what to do because I haven't seen any other threads about similar issues around the forum. Any ideas?
edit: oh, BTW, I flashed back to stock and then flashed Phoenix ROM thinking maybe I had a bad flash with the flashing of the Serendipity ROM but the problem persists.
Does it work on stock?

Hmm. Well that sucks.
The loss of my haptic and vibration is really the only thing not working exactly like I want it to so I guess I'll just do without unless something else begins to act up.
Thanks for the input tho.

Happened on my iPhone before I got my Captivate. Got so used to it, I disable all vibrating/haptic on every rom anyway.
Most of the time if you are having trouble with vibration settings, download the "Sound Manager" app from the Market. It can fix a lot of notification problems.
Anyone besides me notice this is posted in the COMPLETELY wrong section?

It was dead for a month and a half...
Running latest CM7 stable mod and noticed recently my signal bars and network connection signal indicator stay white now. Used to always be green, occasionally turning white but usually only when signal strength was bad. But now they stay white.
Anyone know what this could mean, thanks in advance.

I'm pretty sure that means your not signed in to a google account, try making sure your sync is on in settings for gmail

Or check to see if Background Data is turned off.
Yeah, I did a little more research on this after I posted. I believe it does mean that I'm not connected to the Google servers cause my GMail doesnt upate until I manually synch (even though I have auto-synch enabled).
I tried the other suggestion but I already had Background Data enabled, so I just unchecked then rechecked it again.
Everything is all green again. Must have been a glitch where it wasnt recognizing.
Thanks again!
Okay, my phone keeps reverting back to all white and does not switch back to green on its own. I have to manually force it via the method I described above.
Could this be an issue in CM7.0??? I would have posted in that thread but it wont let me since I dont have the required 10 posts.
I never had an issue with it resynching to green with CM7-RC2 and RC4.
Again, thanks in advance.

I doubt it's a ROM issue but you could always flash it on top just to see. I think it's supposed to go white when the phone is "sleeping" fyi. Go into settings/sync and make sure bg data and auto sync are checked, then click your gmail acct in there, click all 3 boxes, that may also fix it.
Thx dude, I've double checked and all things you recommend I have checked and all are checked. So I'll just keep an eye on it and see if it keeps acting up and if I can narrow down the possible cause.
A reboot fixed this issue for me. Went all day and switched back and forth between green and white without me having to do anything.
Must have been some glitch hanging in the system that got cleared out on the reboot...weird how that happens some times.
Switching on Airplane Mode, then back off seems to refresh everything as well as a reboot does, for me anyway.
just something i noticed. when my phone storage space was "low" (below 15mb), my phone switched from green signal and data icons to white, and nothing would automatically sync for me. once i uninstalled an app to bump myself back up to above 15mb of free space, the icons turned green again and everything started syncing. I guess this is a built in feature?
So my ear piece is not putting out any sound, speakerphone works but not reg ear. I've tried turning sound all the way up before calling and while, nothing. Was wondering if anyone had a suggestion or two before I replace it. I haven't installed any new apps or altered anything since the last time it was working fine.
Though: all my app updates seem to return an invalid package error and system status (for updates) seems ****ed up.
And no I haven't made any nandroid backups yet to attempt to go back to.
Edit:
Also I haven't done anything but metamorph notification bar, and battery icon aside from root.

Hi everyone
Re-posting this from the general section (posted on there by mistake, was still half asleep lol, sorry)
Just got the xperia z yesterday (after my previous lg 4x was stolen... grrr... may the thief get permanent bursting hemorroids...) and I noticed a weird thing.
The mute/vibrate/sound toggle in the notification bar does not seem to work, and the same goes for the one in the popup shown by pressing the power button for a couple seconds.
Details: the mute or vibrate icon appears on the notification bar, but if I check the volumes in settings, they're still all on, and if I receive a call or get a notification or whatever, the phone actually rings despite the supposedly muted state.
All this doesn't happen if I "manually" turn the volume off with the volume buttons or via settings: in that case the vibrate icon appears and the phone actually does not ring.
Has anyone experienced anything similar?
All good here dude. Hope you get it fixed. Have you tried turning phone off and on again? That usualy fixes small.glitches.

Yep, already tried that of course, as well as uninstalling the one widget I have that interacts with volumes, just to be sure it was not some weird conflict (and of course it wasn't)
Not a biggie actually, as I can turn it down manually or by said widget, but I hope I'll figure it out anyway if only for the sake of understanding the source of the issue
Yep I understand that. Annoys me when I cant get something working lile its ment to.

I have a problem with the toggle in the notification bar and the power off menu. System settings show me notifications and ringtones are off, but the phone still has audible, unmuted notification sounds. Really annoying.

Heard about it, but haven't read the whole thing yet (yep, still being lazy)
Jokes apart, I was planning to leave it 100% stock for at least a little while to see how the battery behaves without even the slightest piece of modding (got the phone only last friday, today has been the first real "field test" for the battery and so far I'm pretty positively impressed)
Well I have already removes/frozen a bucketload of apps happy bunny, I am. Now I only need to figure out which app does what so I don't kill something and make my phone less usable.

lol I removed a few apps too, but luckily for me they were uninstallable without root or anything.
I also disabled a few more through the stock apps management, for the time being it's sufficient for my taste

Yes, having the same problem as well with mine. But it has been the same problem since I had ICS on my Xperia Arc S, then Xperia V and now this when I use the toggle in the notification bar or any other toggle aside from toggling it manually via setting. Very irritating since it has never and probably will never be fixed due to the fact that it's a cross-model issue. Chances are, those who say they don't have this problem already has it but don't know it yet or will get it eventually. Sony needs to iron this out once and for all
I have this phone last month then return it for screen issue. I just wonder does the software update solve the screen sensitive issue? otherwise it is a great phone. I will buy it again
Nothing has been fixed as far as I can tell.

I really wish that worked for me, I've installed that app 4 different times at least and tried 4 different settings and it never makes a difference. I've noticed the biggest difference when I just forget about it, if I look for it then it drives me crazy. We have root, unlocked bootloader and recovery so now I wait for a real fix.
