welcome to the community, you have a lot of info for read, our device was made obsolete some time ago by LG and their terrible update practices, we only depend of our lovely developers and cyanogen team, if you want to have the best experience with your new phone i recommend you to try a custom rom, if you want the stock stylus i recommend you Zaiben RC7 if you want to feel close pure android experience, you have to flash cyanogen mod 11, or vanir, or paranoid android, of course you have to read a lot of info before try anything
Firmware v10d is old. You should be able to OTA to v20 JB 4.1.2 based firmware. If you can't get it through OTA, then you can install LG Mobile SW to PC host and update from there.
Yes, you can tell. Look at the bottom of the box, near the serial and IMEI numbers there is a three-letter code above the device colour (white in your case). This is the region code for the original release target.

So i guess is 'C' Stands for china means its coming from asian market ?
Also i'll answer other mates who replied here
I don't want to flash a rom on it yet because i have 1 year warranty and i have it since 1 day so i will wait to see if any problem will occur with it
Alredy i see a problem so called 'power button' it is not responsive and i click 2-3 times (not always) until screen comes on.
EDIT: Also updated the phone via USB to 'V20b' 4.1.2 but now when i use it longer it tells me that i cant turn up the bright of the screen to max because of overheating.
I just mention that to say it is annoying to me i know it is made to be more safe against overheats.

Once you have a good reading around, you should be able to root it (which after you can uninstall those apps using something like Titanium Backup) and if you feel like, flashing another rom

"LG Aus irons bugs out of Optimus 2X
World's first dual-core phone on sale downunder.
LG Australia has finally broken its silence over ongoing problems with the Optimus 2X, which Guiness World Records acknowledges as the world’s first dual-core smart phone.
Users overseas and locally who had bought the product through eBay and other online sources reported a number of issues with the phone including random power-offs.
The Korean company subsequently released a patch, however, many users continued to report malfunctions.
LG Australia marketing director Brad Read confirmed that the problems related to the incompatibility of the phone's software – developed with Google’s Android 2.2 Froyo – and the handset's dual core processor.
For several weeks LG Australia’s Facebook page has been peppered with customer complaints, however, LG only acknowledged the problem on the social networking site yesterday.
One reader said he was selling his Optimus 2X for $1 on eBay as a paperweight.
Read, however, said that all of the problems had now been ironed out.
An updated software fix had been installed in phones shipped to Australia with no customers buying locally expected to have any problems.
The Optimus 2X goes on sale this week at Harvey Norman and was expected to soon become available through other outlets including mobile carriers.
Its price tag in Australia would be around $650.
Notwithstanding the software compatibility issues, the Optimus 2X was expected to generate much kudos for LG in the highly competitive mobile phone market, and woo users with its promise of dramatically faster management of mobile apps and downloading of web content."

So it seems to be a driver/kernel/software problem?
But when are we getting it??

Could anyone living in Australia confirm this?
The explanation seems kinda vague to me, not to mention the timing. They say the fix it just in time for the Australian launch? Sounds like a publicity thing to me. People who use custom roms with gingerbread still have the reboot problems, right?

come on...custom rom with gingerbread its very diferrent than stock..dont forget that is CM7 nightly version and it has very different commits and drivers and blah blah..i also suffered by reboot issues in the very first start using nightly cm gingerbread but if you will try the last build you will see that random reboots it has been fixed..at least for me!i dont get any random reboots..!with stock rom also i didnt got even once a random reboot..!
cm7 it has nothing to do with stock froyo and even if when stock gingerbread will be released!
But why should we accept a flagship phone that have known fatal problems?
u know, the price of first batch is about 30% higher than now.
And we always face the sudden dead when charging.
LG should have solved this issue before selling.

man, then u probably could have bought your o2x half a year later. it is obvious, if one looks a the stock software of the o2x, that LG was trying to throw it on the market fast, to be the first dual core phone - to generate max profit.

theres a couple of guys who have bought the australian version over at the whirlpool forums http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=1598794&p=22#r434, i have asked them to post what version they are running, if these issues are fixed with the new update then i would expect these phones to be running it, but i think that is unlikley, would like to know what LG australia has done to iliminate these problem in the aus version yet the rest of the world has to wait, llike others here i'm very warey of LG's 'it's fixed it's fixed' statements

I got all the ones without oil and damaged engines and flat tires...
Or in other words an used car for the price of a new one ;-)
Is this normal phenomenal for this branch or only for this particular car.
Well after owned many, I dare to say that all engines where new and not broken...Sometimes a flat tire
I don't trust that the mechanic will fix this engine
Well this ends the metaphor and leaves us waiting for that magical O2X fix :-(

Remember they have released loads of updates in different countries already and that's what it means I think.
If it was GB they would have updated the spec and there would be much more press coverage via tech sites / their own twitter feeds etc
A V10E has been released in Hong Kong so it's still Froyo.

Hello dears,
I write here for the first time in LG 4X forum and I don't want people those who already bought this device to misunderstand me please
the device is really equipped with the latest and fastest hardware at factories,
But..
LG as company is not new, it was (Gold Star) company and replaced the complete ID of the cheap company with Gold Star with LG as new brand.
and the new department decides to get the latest in the market and hit it with the newest electronic weapons as your 4X
I got a past trying with LG devices, with P990 and P999 (G2X) it was really perfect as hardware but as software, it is still with GB v2.3.5 as the final stock ROM from LG, start from v2.2
I don't why LG can't support her devices to the latest software at google android !!!
So the point that I want to reach here is:
Don't expect LG to support your device to the latest ROMs of android, it will stop at 4.1.1 or 4.2 and stop there then you will see the support from MIUI or CM team, but not LG and will face ton's of change log's and (what working) (what is not)
LG is good for short month's of usage but not for long time.
Hope LG support department read this thread and try to support the software teams in the future.
hope you got what I means

I disagree. It looks to me that LG won't even update our 4x to jelly bean.
Lg are bunch of noobs.
To lg - if you are planning to fight with the likes of Samsung/HTC - offer same type of service. Like Unlock tool for the bootloader. Or unlocked boot loader from factory. At least that way we can make our own way into future updates...
I hate myself for buying a lg! Wasn't even aware of locked boot loader. Next time I will sniff around1000 times before deciding to buy a lg.

Fixes are fine by my book, ICS is already a very good platform to use. Sure, JB brings more improvements but it is game changing compared to GB to ICS.
Can you show me the fix list? I've searched a lot on google but no one seems to have it..

1. LG Optimus Nexus is not a rumor, but true
2. Yeah, maybe they're working about something (i'm f*ckin optimistic)
Although, LG's software support is crap, i'd still choose their Hardware over HTC's. And, just being chose by Google as the manufacturer for their new flagship device...LG will hopefully get more love by devs. The Optimus 4x HD is a true beast, it's a shame that LG won't unleash its true capabilities. I've been contemplating in whether to get an O4x HD (price is soooo cheap) or just wait for the LG Nexus G (which is most likely what im guna do). Either way, my next phone will be an LG. For some reason, i've becomed very bored with Samsungs, especially with my S3.
LG is going to make a conference on 24-25 oct, hope we'll get some infos about updates

Hi
I've bought a new D5803 from China and upgraded it (using Sony Companion) to Android 6.0.1 (23.5.A.0.575).
I just noticed the Customization Version that came with the phone is 1288-3732_R3D (Saudi Arabia I think?)
I live in the United Kingdom and was wondering if it's worth flashing 1288-4954_R10D (Generic UK).
What difference does it make if I stay with the Saudi CDA? any software restrictions?, or speed of update releases?
I've used the tool Flashtool/XperiFirm to build 1288-4954_R10D but after reading all the stories of people breaking their phones, I'm a bit hesitant to flash it.
I come from the Samsung i9505 section of XDA so things are a bit different here.
Thanks

You are wise to hesitate to start flashing, if you read further down this Q&A thread it's littered with cries for help from people who have either bricked their phones or lost the DRM keys, disabling some of the higher functions of the phone. Sony's insistence on using an encrypted partition with unique identifier keys on it, puts it a long way from the likes of Samsung & LG, where you can root and flash a rom on your new phone in about 5 minutes. This has caught a lot of people out who come to Sony from those phones.
I don't think using a Saudi build will have any impact. I once flashed a eastern European build on my phone, only to discover that the size of picture attachments to text messages, was to big for the UK providers.
But as long as everything works and you have no hankerings for root on your phone, then 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it'
There is a great guide here, if you do want to go down the customisation road. Take your time to read the entire page, then possibly read it again, before you do anything.

Sound advice Didgesteve. Thanks for the reply.
The phone is behaving perfectly at the moment (apart from a temperamental Contacts app).
I think I will spend time learning everything I can about this phone before I attempt to flash anything.
There are a few things I miss about root but the risk of bricking the phone through ignorance isn't worth it.
Thanks again for the pointers.
This is my first Huawei-branded phone (I've owned many other phones labelled as different brands but made by Huawei). I have the EVA-L09C02B133, which appears to be a non-UK Vodafone version (bought in the UK from Vodafone).
I can't find any information about this model and ROMs in English. Any suggestions?
I've come from a HTC M8 - a phone I loved, but it stopped turning on (even after flashing etc.). I'd rate the HTC 9/10 and this, so far, 3/10 due to the horrible EMUI.
Also, I'm not allowed to post on the ROM area due to not having enough posts...

The version you have is the actual UK Vodafone version as that is stated by C02 in the build number. And yes you can get a custom rom onto it like cm13 which is what mine currently runs off.
I'd suggest that you actually read the other forums before posting as all of the other ones actually fully explain what you have just asked about

the Euro version is the full stock - there is one difference between them and that is all. this confusions seriously needs to stop.
If you are on euro version you are getting updates directly from Huawei instead of waiting for vodafone to roll out one late.

Abomination? Really? There is an app called themes that lets you download other themes that people have created, maybe you might find something in there that you like?
Seriously though I have just replaced a Samsung S6 Edge (terrible battery life) with this phone and, out of the box, the Emui and Samsung interfaces have very similar styling.
That's the thing with Android, if you don't like something you can change it, there's always an app for that!!
