Could anyone give me a link to an LG icon pack? I dont like the icons of the Stock android 4.4 , so I would like to change the icons to that of stock rom(Yes, I kinda miss the feeling of Stock rom because I havent been on stock since I bought my phone)
Any possibility? I am using Kitkat CM11 nightly build with Novalaucher 2.3.1 beta. Searching google, because of the nature of these searches, leads me to a lot of spam(Lots of irrelevant info), which pisses me off.
Thank you in advance.

Search the Play Store, there seem to be a couple of possibilites in there.
Also, a 30 second Google search led me to these two on XDA

May be worth looking at.
Thank you firstly for your response.
Yes, I came to those results earlier. The L7 icons are not the same as those of our stock rom... they are curved, and the second link yes, I came up to it earlier, also, lack the icon packs.
It seems the Google play store search is my only option. I dont currently have google play installed in my phone.
Anyway, thanks for your response.

Hey, this is my first time posting, I've been browsing a bit since I got my galaxy. I cant really find an answer to what I'm looking for.
I'm not a big fan of samsung's UI on my galaxy, I'd much prefer the Android 2.1 stock that comes on the nexus one... no fancy stuff. Just basic... How would I go abouts doing this? I'm totally new to this, I know I'd have to root my device, after that I'm lost.
Thanks A lot!
Some guys have created a stock Android ROM for the SGS, but it's not fully functional, no camera and no video.
Android can run on many devices (even iPhone and Palm) but the problem are the drivers. If there's no driver, you'll find yourself without camera, wifi, GPS or whatever, and possibly the battery use will be greater.
Yep, there was a vanilla rom but nothing worked, pointless for everyday use.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
So what would be your recommendation for a rom? seeing as they're are so many out there.
there are a couple of ROMS in the dev section without the touchwiz launcher
example:
[ROM]Rombie v2a -*I9000XXJPH*- Themed|no TouchWiz|Pre-Rooted|
personally i have never used one so i can't give any feedback on the matter. if you dont want to mess around too much you could always use a launcher like ADWlauncher or LauncherPro, these basically reskin the home screens to a more likeable layout (by many), there is even a home replacement called launcher2 i think, which looks very basic.
I'm looking for something similar. I'm already rooted, unlocked and running ADW, but I just can't cope with Samsung's stock phone and sms apps. They're truly bloody awful.
all i can say is: wait for http://www.cyanogenmod.com/ ...
it's great and it can not take very long any more (i hope)

You can say that again the sms app is a complete fail!!!
I don't mind the dialer so much. but the rest of touchwiz and the widgets is a waste of space..
Hi guys,
i dont really find any related threads..
so i wanna ask you all whether it's better to stay on darky's rom
or change to MIUI?
and how serious is the battery drain problem? does it matter?
how long does the battery last?
MIUI is awesome, i never looked into it at first but im glad i did. I have been on it for weeks and i aint going elsewhere.
Battery is normal. 1-2 days at best.
Also. New updates every friday.
Highly customisable. You wil be amazed at it.
Try it and see. You can always flash back if you dont like it. But i know u will
Sent from Miui powered SGS
I agree, I love this ROM, totally different to any other ROM you will have tried, it's like having a new phone. If you can flash your phone successfully and iron out some other niggles you'll get trying to update, you won't go back to another rom again
id say looks great but finding so many many annoying things - though im new today so if i missed something or a fix i apologise way in advance 690odd pages is too much to sift through
keyboard has no working dictionary
auto rotate is bust
themes doesnt seem to change all the time correctly
auto brightness seems to not work too
and keep getting FC now and then in settings
Signal keeps switching off too(only fix is lock/unlock)
besides this and as i say totally new today n maybe i screwed up or missed a fix. its a great looking rom. feels nice
Their are other roms
Rom Kitchen
Look In Developers section .
Darkys is a rom not the holy grail of rom development suggest you try others you can always go back.
jje
miui 1.4.15 works awesome with zachs kernel!
now just wait for the rc5b then it will be even better

Keyboard will be fixed today. download keyboard from market temporarily
auto rotate is fine for many of us, depends on your kernel
majority of themes work perfect, very few of the 1000's of themes dont work 100%
auto brightness, again works well for many of us, check it under the settings menu.
FC in settings is due to the theme being used. as mentioned above
signal issue.... is lock/unlock so hard work ???
anyway rc5b will be released soon and im pretty sure all the above will be fixed. im sure you can appreciate the hard work taken to get this ROM almost perfect. there is no guide for this ROM, as there is for samsung ROMs.
looks like you all appreciate the miui rom
thats good.. i first thought that the battery drain would be a problem, but atm
my darky roms sucks more and i can run it only for one day
what major changes will come with rc5b? i thought of changing to rc5?
does anyone use the miui version? or is everyone on xda version?

well i use the xda version i think - the xda page directs me to 'sourceforge'
as the team translate it to english (its originally chinese)
RC5B will just fix a few bugs that is in the RC5.
you can flash to whichever version you want, just follow the steps carefully.

Buddy, try SpeedMod Kernel with DarkyROM. Trust me, you won't go back.
Even with 3G, Sync, Music & video playbacks, my I9000 has about 60% battery at the end of the day.
& of course, benchmark is about 1.9 to 2k ;-)
MIUI always gave me trouble with constant FCs.I've tried varius versions and not even one was stable. This is the most annoying thing in MIUI there is no stable version, only unstable roms full of regressions.I always end up in stock roms
I should point out that i am an avid flasher and i have the phone for over a year so i know exactly what i am talking about.
I've tried most of miui roms and I won't be going back anytime soon.
1) Theme app not working consistently. Sometimes it hangs and doesnt load anything, other times it just FC's
3) Battery, whatever they say is rank compared to a Samsung rom
4) Laggy browsers. This is was got me really REALLY frustrated.
5) No radio
6) Updated every Friday my arse. Only reason they are updated all the time is because there is so many bugs and ALWAYS something not working lol
7) The whole modification thing is a bit of a fallacy if you ask me. There's only so much you can change. Icons and wallpapers basically and most that are available are crap or just a mashup of other themes mixed with different wallpapers.
I could go on all day
I'm much happier on Samsung based roms.
They work.
You can theme them
Battery is lots better
Hi, I currently have Cyanogenmod 9 (last Nightly ROM) installed on my Cappy. I would like to know what advantages do Slim ICS/JB have over it.
What I like of my current ROM:
Voodoo Sound/Color (A must for me)
Pre rooted, with CWM, and with lot of customizations. I really enjoy the capacity to make almost everything black. (Homescreen, lock screen, drawer)
What I don't like:
It feels a bit more laggy than GB. Maybe uses more RAM or something like that.
So, what will be better in Slim ROMs?
Thank you very much.
Can nightly be flashed on top of everything?

I was using SLIM (the latest version) for a couple of days...I have a problem with the screen rotation NOT working...I looked everywhere for an answer to the problem. I even joined the FORUM and it took 2 days to APPROVE memebership. Whoever heard of that these days! So, I was able to get it to work and found it very annoying...also no working app drawer and it puts all the app icons on the desktop. You have to download your own and it was a pain. I did love the speed of the Lightning Launcher but think that was the problem with the rotation...got tired of waiting for the forum to accept me so went to the CyanogenMod 9 with /data on the external SD Nightly.
Sinceyou are using that maybe you can answer me a question...don't know how to use the Nightly???? Can that just be flashed on top of everything?Thanks..sorry I give give you a good reason to go to SLIM....

Well if you already have 2.3 bootloaders (that you seem to have because you used SLIM) it should only be a flash. Instructions are on Cyanogen website.
I just saw this post at http://galaxy-mini-2.blogspot.ro/2013/05/galaxy-mini-2-corriendo-jelly-bean.html
...with this pictures....and OMG IT LOOKS REAL!
LOOK at the ,,grey,, samsung statusbar, and software update icon at notifications !
Also camera icon looks real instead all other icons found in cm themes!
You can also see that statusbar clock is hidden on lockscreen like the official rom!
Also, swipe in contacts to send sms or call is an original samsung feature, absent in cm!
Rom is looking same as galaxy young official rom. Look at memo icon!
This thread is not spam...is based an question>
I need help to figuire out what is that! ..because samsung said that this phone will not get any update from gb.
This is old, confirmed fake, but a very good one.
Someone simple spend waaaaaay too much time hacking an existing CM (10 I believe) to make it look like TouchWiz official.
There will never be official JB for our phone.
Plus, Galaxy Young lags with official JB as TheWhisp confirmed numerous times.
So best thing for our phone is CM 7.2.0.
The one we have currently is done wrong with existing kernel, instead of a new one.

Can you share it? Or is just an edited image oppened on phone?
Anyone not liking Lollipop or not impressed with the first releases of L for our M7 devices? I see plenty who are praising the product. I myself really like the sleak Material design, but it might be my imagination but L doesn't seem quite as smooth as 4.4.2 and a few apps hang up here and there, the capacitive key light is a problem (as we all know).
Just wondered if anyone else has gone back to KitkKat, whether that be aosp, gpe or Sense and for what reason?
Is this post breaks the rules, feel free to lock.
Thanks

I too am enjoying the material design 'overhaul' and to be honest have been spending so long with 'feature rich' ROMs it's nice to go back to the basics. I'm missing some of my favourite staples like the traffic monitor and lock screen targets but overall I'm really enjoying Lolipop.
Features I'm loving:
- Location based security
- Built in 'quiet hours'
- Built in battery analysis
- Recent apps overhaul (just now getting used to not closing all open apps)

I have long ago gone back to 4.4.4. Not only am I not a fan of the new temp Material remake but the issues with over all volume decrease and other issues are not worth it. Not to mention the really stupid in call screen. Not sure what they were thinking there.
Did you go back to stock GPE Zelendel?
Glad to hear there are a few not happy with L.

No I went back to DU as it was my daily driver. Gpe is to bland for me with not enough options.
Also went back from lollipop to Sense 4.4.3
I prefer Sense UI and I'm not a huge fan of the new lollipop design. Some changes are great and some others I don't like at all.
Xposed framework incompatibility with ART is probably the main reason why I reverted back to Kitkat.

That may be a lasting issue. From some to not I have heard he is hardly working on it and is not really motivated to finish it as the direction Google is going is locking the system down for things like xposed.
I used Lollipop for few days because I had that mute call bug and only thing I liked is recent apps. Everything else is just not to my liking. I was so happy when I found out about mute call fix zip ?
I wonder if Lollipop roms will be less customisable than previous google releases?
Yeah I can see me switching back to KK at some point. We can always have the Material look with a theme engine. I miss the customisation that comes with KK and even Jellybean roms.

Many are working on bringing the features to 5.0. Some are doing it wrong and just trying to port them over instead of redoing them to work properly but the features are coming. I wouldnt want to rush it mainly with google pushing so many updates on a daily basis. I mean we are already up to what 5.0.2r7 with 5.1 rumored to be out next month. The material design is just like the whole Holo deal. IT will pass. Google is even changing the color pallet after many complaints. So That is not a big deal really. Well unless your an app developer that made your app in the material design then come 6.0 or 7 they will have to redo it again to match what ever google decides to do then.

It is Dirty unicorns, I also use Slim. I did use AICP for a while but have moved away from roms that use CM as a base.
Thanks for the info, I better be careful this doesn't turn into a roms comparison thread!
I am sure Lollipop roms will get better and better once devs get their heads around the software, start adding features. I am sure it's a very small percentage of phone users who even have 5.0 on their phones, a good portion are probably still Jellybean.
Myself, going back to a KK rom for now until the L roms mature a little more.
Anyone finding the aosp (inc cm) Lollipop roms better than GPE for stability, battery longevity etc?
I myself am liking the taste of the lollipop myself, tastes like strawberries runs much smoother than KK, battery life is great, all my apps are working, no faults with it what so ever.
The few issues I think many people are having with it and a lot seem to be complaining about, is HTC themselves haven't listened to anyone, the issues are with sense that HTC bang on top of Google's Android, the widgets are still to small and don't come right down, however there is a mod to fix this, cant stand the ugly white and black background on the clock and weather widget, im using Chronus for my clock and weather at the moment, I do miss xposed but not enough to revert back, there are for now alternatives for what I used xposed for, they just take a bit of hunting down.
The sense version of Lollipop is still a baby at the moment and Dev's are working on their apps already for Lollipop including xposed, it will come.
You have to remember that the ROM which LabFooter posted a few days ago is still very much in beta stage. its a leak and still in testing, any issues found can still be fixed yet.
Anyone else tried Lollipop and gone back to Kitkat or even Jellybean, and why? Just trying to keep the conversation going on this one as it's early days with Lollipop and all that. Figured there are many who like or dislike the operating system.

Took the words right out of my mouth, lollipop looks and feels real nice. But the poor functionality due to all the bugs it's just not usable as an every day Rom :good:
Dont' fix if ain't broken.
Besides not so many new functions I could use in Lolipop.
I prefer trustworthy KK over buggy loli.
