[Q]Flashing 4.3 over 9305T - Galaxy S III I9305 (4G LTE + 2GB RAM) Q&A, Help &

I got myself an 9305T today and did some search over at Samfirmware and there it was stated that only 4.1.2 was out for my phone.
Did some digging over here too and someone wrote that he flashed the german 4.3 from 9305 over his 9305T and then just reflashed his modem with the one from his carrier and everything went fine.
Does anyone knows if this really work and/or can walk me around this process?
Thanks in advance. :cyclops:

The only diference between 9305T an 9305 is the baseband. I installed the 4.3 DBT (Germany) from 9305 without flash the baseband (modem) and the Bootloader (Knox). Use Mobile Odin to flash and remember: dont flash the baseband (modem) or the new Knox Bootloader and flash the Boeffla or the Agni Kernel for 9305 otherwise your wifi will not work.
There is tutorials here learning to flash witth Mobile Odin. Everything is working here.
Good luck.

If you want to flash ROM's you can use any i9305 ROM and it will work fine. Your Modem however has to be a i9305T Model otherwise you will get no reception anywhere.
Thanx I didn't think of that. Rom is goin strong still

The most easiest way to root your phone, could be (If you have an older firmware.) installing exynos abuse app from chainfire.
Sent from my GT-I9305 using xda premium
Already done thanx though

[Q] If update official update from different country will baseband change?

Hello guys, i will explain the story in order, sorry for my bad Grammar.
first i have the official GTI9070 but i forgot the baseband (GB)
then i accept software update that appear in notification bar, my baseband become I9070DXLK2 (GB)
and i see there's CM11 out that can make kit kat running in I9070.
but it requires root to install CMW / TWRP..
so hard to find root zip for DXLK2, and then i found one full ROM rooted then flash it with odin.
my baseband still I9070 (GB) but rooted (binary counter++)
after that i flash TWRP with odin too.
then i try flashing CM11 with TWRP.
it success, but no mobile network.
i search at this forum and someone say "no mobile network happen because flashing from GB (2.3.x) directly to KK (4.4.x)"
he said first update from GB to official samsung JB.
the problem, there's no official samsung JB update for my country/region (DXLK2)
my question, if i flash the official samsung JB update from other region.. let say it italy.. will my baseband change?
if it changed, what's the problem and whats the negative impact? what should i do better?
thx in advance.
PS: my device is Samsung Galaxy S Advance GT-I9070 (Indonesian)

You don't have any negative impact if you flash any stock JB firmware, only with your warranty if you still have one.
Please, follow this guide from point A (JELLYBEANIZATION): [GUIDE] From stock GB to Custom JB (Noob-friendly)
After you updgraded to JB, ask/read some tutorials linked here: [{INDEX of GUIDES/TUTORIALS}] Galaxy S Advance [GT-I9070].
Be sure when you proceed to do something OR ASK before, NOT AFTER you doing something wrong.

Or maybe removed. Try on samsung-updates.com or sammobile.com
In Canada, have XXLK2 (Africa?). Want JB, use UK version?
I bought my unlocked I9070 almost 2 years ago and am thinking about upgrading to Android 4.1.2 (JB).
On samsung-updates there appear to be lots of JB versions for different regions.
Can I just select the one for Britain (XXLQE)? Is there anything I need to check re: compatibility?

Yes you can flash any stock firmware for I9070. Be sure you don't flash firmware for I9070P.

Flashing worked...once I found a .zip file

I had a lot of trouble trying to get the samsung-updates.com download to work (used the free one, which either didn't start most of the time or died during download). Eventually, I took the filename (for Britain) and Googled it, and found a download site that let me download it (required 3 hours).
Armed with the .zip file and ODLIN, it worked like a charm. All my installed apps and data survived, which surprised me. I thought this would be a vanilla install.

[Q] No network on new I9305

I just bought my second I9305 (first one was stolen) and it doesn’t connect to any network band. It is the same International model I had before that worked perfectly. I’m not sure if it has some country code limitation, but the frequencies and bands should be the right ones.
The phone is stock version. Baseband version XXUEMK1.
I’m not sure if I should flash to another Baseband. My cellular service provider works LTE at 1800 frequency and Band 3.
Any clues about what I should do?
Thanks
Henning

Hi,
Which is your stock firmware version JB 4.1.2 ? JB 4.3, or ?
Rooted or not ?
If you want to be sure your phone is OK, just reflash via ODIN your stock firmware from your country (and if you want from your carrier), it includes PDA, CSC and MODEM . Be sure your phone is an internationnal model i9305 and download your firmware HERE or HERE. I recommand this GUIDE from MaHo_66 xda member.

Hi, thanks for your reply. I'm not sure where to find these JB numbers tou are asking. The BuIld number is JSS15J.19305XXUEMKC. In Kies appears: PDA: MKC, Phone:MK1, CSC:MK2 (VDI).
The list of firmwares in the Samsung Updates page doesn't have the specific country/carrier I use. How do I know which one is equivalent?
Thanks

I've made some googling but I didn't found which modem version you have to use. I guess you have to find a latin america modem version but it has to be compatible with your current Android 4.3 build.
Did you previous stolen i9305 was running Android 4.3 as well ?
Do you know some ways to remember which versions you had on your previous phone ? Do you know someone else with the same phone ?

So try do a clean install by wiping all and flash latest build I9305XXUEML9 from italy (TIM) with Odin. It's Android 4.3 like you currently have.
You can grab it here for exemple : http://samsung-updates.com/details/24460/Galaxy_S_3_LTE/GT-I9305/TIM/I9305XXUEML9.html
Follow MaHo_66 guide.
Don't forget to backup.
I hope it will do the trick.
Hi,hbergold, why not flash the version firmware 4.4.4 Stock. Here you have two versions of 4.4.4:http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=GT-I9305 So you would be clear if the problem is the modem.I use the version DBT Poland, I live in Spain and everything works great.Version 4.4.4 also includes again the possibility of entering service mode and choose the bands. You can flash it with Odin.Pasate por aqui:http://www.htcmania.com/showthread.php?t=920004

Gracias viktorak, but does this modem work with LTE band 3 (1800) ?
I can`t confirm, but with the the Service Mode you can force the band you will.Have you read the post I linked?Your partner, also from Venezuala wanted to force the band 5 -3G, and according to reported- it works. Then, using Service Mode you can force the band you will.
You need to first install the 4.4.4 Rom and then if it doesn`t work normally use Service mode.

@hbergold, about KNOX, you told me you have an Android 4.3 build, so if it's an official one, you already have a KNOX bootloader (the one from sammy Android 4.3).
About bootloaders:
- if you ever flash 4.3 or 4.4 via Odin or updated from OTA you have new Bootloader from android 4.3 or from 4.4.4.
- if you bought your device and you dont know what bootloader you have, turn off your phone, reboot to download mode (hold power + volume down +home buttons) and when is there Knox flag 0x1 you have new bootloader and you are warranty off. When Knox flag is there 0x0 you have also new bootloader, but you are still in warranty and when you'll flash any custom recovery or unofficial firmware via Odin, you'll have then Knox 0x1 and you will be warranty off - so it's on your deciding. When isn't in download mode any records about about Knox, you still have old bootloader (from android 4.1.2).
- since the new sammy Android 4.4.4 bootloader, now there is also a line in blue color saying ´´SECURE DOWNLOAD : ENABLED''
About @MaHo_66 's opinion, please read here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=56506775&postcount=12. I hope he will not find any problem of sharing his post
I also recommand to upgrade to an Android 4.4.4 build but it's your choice and it depends on what you want to do with your phone (install custom ROM or not = warranty stuffs / if you want to sell the phone later, ....). Also I think you will not be able to flash any older official build (Android 4.1.2 or 4.3) if you upgrade to 4.4.4 because of the bootloader. I recommand it mainly because there is no more this random ******* stuck mdm_hsic_pm0 wakelock issue appeared since sammy Android 4.3 and which was a big problem for battery life. And also because it's smoother and faster.
I hope for you that @viktorak service mode trick will work for you if you decide to upgrade to android 4.4.4 official.

Looking for I9305T Firmware.

A friend of mine accidentally soft bricked his S3 I9305T (Telstra Version) trying to root it. Does anybody know where I can find the firmware for this exact phone? Or can normal I9305 Firmware be flashed?
Thanks
If someone could confirm that standard I9305 FW can be flashed that would make this a lot easier.

Yeah it is slow, you can pay for membership which speeds it up, but I usually leave it overnight to download. You can try samsung-updates.com as well but I think it is much the same.

Yes regular i9305 firmware can be flashed although being Telstra it won't have very good reception as the frequencies are different with Telstra. Flashing a Telstra modem after will help.. Also factory reset is usually a must if flashing stock software

Yeah I ended up getting the FW after about 4 failed downloads. Flashed the correct I9305T firmware (although not the Telstra exact variant, i'd assume it doesn't matter)
